I am not sure why we did not sign chris chambers.Chad henne needs playmakers in the passing game.I know he is not great but he is better than anything we have on this team now. No playmakers = no playoffs.
And the last thing we need is a WR that has proven he drops a lot of passes. Ginn has had the drops this year, Chambers has had the drops his whole career.
it was completely impossible for us to sign him.....the chiefs signed him off waivers, they had dibbs before us.....there was no chance to sign him.
Yeah they got him before we could, because of their record. However, he is better than Ginn I agree, even though he drops also, he also makes more big plays.
Exactly. We've got camarillo, bess and hartline to make the routine ones, with some help from ronnie and ricky. We need a big play WR. At least we have the Bucs coming up!
No point in crying over something that we had no control over. Chiefs had dibs over us, so they got him. Whether we even put in a waiver claim, I don't know, but if we did, it we couldn't have gotten him over the Chiefs anyways.
We dont need a long term solution... We need a please God throw us a wide reciver from the sky solution
We need a long term solution, yes. But Chambers would of been a short term solution that is greatly needed. With our current WR's, any chance of the playoffs is gone, and has been for awhile now imo.
Something no WR on this roster even comes close to doing. I'd rather have a WR who is known to drop a few balls while also making big plays than WR's who are known for dropping a few balls and doing... well doing nothing else.
The sad thing is even Bess and Hartline can't make the routine ones. Hartline has had a few drops this year, one very big drop today. And Bess has looked very bad this year, no idea what his problem is. Cam has been our most consistent WR this year, and is always there to make the clutch catch. I can't grasp why we don't throw his way more, it's absurd. I've honestly started wondering if it's our WR coach or something. Ginn didn't have a drop problem last year. Bess was very reliable last year. Fasano was great last year. We led the league for a lot of the year in least dropped passes, and finished in the top 5 I think in least dropped passes. I'm trying to figure out why the hell they're dropping so many this year, it's mind boggling, and I have to question if it's coaching or what.
The only thing that occurs to me is that Pennington had touch; he led his receivers better, had better timing, and threw an easier ball to catch. Hard to coach a receiver not to drop the ball; they do that by themselves.
No, we did change quarterbacks though. I think our first team is getting use to the velocity that Henne puts on the ball. I guess we'll see if things get better by the end of the year but who knows.
I guess I look at it realistically in that even if we were to get to the playoffs with the addition of chambers how far would we go once we got in? There's the Colts, Denver, Cinci, Pitt., that we'd have to face and if we made it to the superbowl the looks of NO / Minn. / Philly, Dallas, Giants.. they all just look too tough for us to overcome IMO. I haven't written our current season off, but don't feel like we're just one receiver (or player, even) away from pushing us that much further over the top.
Had we scored two more TDs in today's game, the Pats would have scored 3. If we had scored TEN, they would have scored eleven. We couldn't stop them when the game was on the line, and we couldn't score when the game was on the line. The Pats are a fully-formed team and we are a work in progress, and that was 100% clear today.
We are full of holes. I'm tired of every linebacker we have that is not named Jason Taylor (I don't count Cam Wake because he is a situational pass rusher). Blow the entire unit up this offseason. ...and while we are at it get a damn receiver and a tight end.
