I know this might seem a bit early but based on our performance season to do date we are in the unfortunate circumstance of depending on other teams results as well as our own. Do you agree? So with that said, being ahead of the Jets in Division games, what would be more beneficial to us the Jets winning or the Patriots winning? If the Patriots win they will be far ahead of us, however if the Jets win then the patriots have one more loss and taking first in the division becomes a bit more attainable. What do you guys think?
I think our only shot at the playoffs is to win our division. I know we are right in the wildcard hunt, but I see the Wildcard coming from a 10 win team, and I just can't really see 10 wins from this team. So a Jets win is probably better, but the fact of matter is the Dolphins need to take care of business.
Definitely root for the Jets. While still highly unlikely, the more the Pats lose, the better able we could be to catch them for the div title. If the Pats lose this week and we win Thurs, we'd be w/in one game. Then, we take on Buffalo while they take on the Saints. See where I'm going here .... suddenly our rematch w/ the Pats becomes so much more interesting. Now, we have to take care of biz ourselves to make this work, and that's not going to be an easy task, at least in Carolina, and trips to Buffalo are rarely easy. But - still - presuming we do our part, it would be in our interests for the Jets to win. We already own the tiebreaker w/ them anyway. Go Jets!!!
It depends on whether we win on Thursday or not. If we win, then I'm rooting for the Jets, because then we will only be a game behind New England. If we lose, then our shot at the division is likely over. So we gotta root for the Pats, to keep the Jets behind us in the Wildcard race.
I will be rooting for the Jets because they are the weaker team and will lose more as the year goes on (they still have Indy for one). Because of that they need to beat NE. Either way though this game is a win-win for Miami. The only thing I really want though is the 2002 Ricky to show up this Thursday night.
A plane to hit the stadium? Is that an option? Okay if that isn't then I pretty much have the same opinion as Gish.
Pretty much hoping for a rogue Jests defender to (In one fwell swoop) push up Tammy Bradys dress and leg whip his candyass. After that, I hope they both lose.
I just can't do it. I cannot root for either one. I just won't watch and hope it all comes out to better our chances. The thought of pulling for either on makes me sick to my stomach.
I'm hoping Catering botches the order and delivers Rex Ryan's buffet to the wrong stadium, and before the game he eats the entire Patriots team, and then is promptly fined into oblivion by the NFL. I'm pretty sure that's got like a 20% statistical probability.
cake or death! gotta be jets right now. if we can beat the patriots then we just need to tie them in the record. seems an easier path than all the other stuff
I can't bring myself to ever root for the Jets. I just can't. ESPECIALLY after all the **** they've been talking about our team this year...and we still swept them!
J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS! FWIW, I think they're going to get DESTROYED on Sunday in Foxborough, but I'll be pulling for them.
Thing is, you're not so much rooting for the Jets, but, rather, for the Pats to lose, and the Jets are just a vehicle you are using to achieve that goal. That's all!
Great Feed back so far. Remember, the question is within our division table what is better for us statistically. I myself hate the position we are being placed in, I get a little throw up in my mouth when I think about it.
i root for the pats to beat the jets, than i will root for the saints to beat the pats and then i will root for the dolphins to beat the pats..
How about, you are using one enemy to defeat another, more-powerful enemy, for your own, personal gain??? No, not working for ya??? That's all I got ....
How 'bout this. It's kinda like The Princess Bride, when Westley (the Dolphins) defeats Inigo Montoya (the Jets), sparing his life, and Inigo is then indebted to Westley and helps him out. So, the Jets, being defeated by us - not once, but TWICE - are indebted to us, and must help us out by defeating the evil Patriots?? See, this can be fun!
Are you actually comparing the Jets to Inigo Montoya? Fail. Where's the opposite of the Thanks button when you need it?
I only root for the Jets on draft day, when they select superstars like Gholston. I can't root for them under any other circumstances, not even against the Pats.
At the end of the day I will not watch this game. I will wait for the results, and then think about how it weighs in in regards to us. But statistically the Jets winning gives us the best edge to make the playoffs. That wildcard race is just wayyyyy too tight right now, with too many teams with better w/l records, to hold onto that hope.
We want the Jets to win, we need for the Pats to lose at least one of the next two games for us to be able to tie them in three weeks (as long as we win our next three).
