I'm sure he will bounce back and play well for us. He wants another opportunity to prove himself and now he gets his chance once again.
Who writes these articles? Except for the fact that Henne completed 63% of his passes against the Titans.
They have to at this point, Houston and especially Pittsburgh are weaker in the secondary. As for how to exploit these defenses it's tough but you have to find a way to utilize Ginn Jr. Enough is enough he needs to clear room for the other receivers, especially Hartline.
chad henne is a young qb who believes in his arm good thing stop looking at the negatives i take in all the positives from this kid tough crowd sometimes
I wish we had receivers worth something to use next game but we don't. What's our most dangerous offensive package anyway? WR- Ginn Jr. WR- Hartline TE- Fasano FB- Polite RB- Williams ? At least it gives the impression of a run. Even David Martin would be helpful right now.
KillerPhins, I agree with you 100% Henne is our future and has a ton of positives. He just needs a little more time.
Well: Hartline is averaging 17 yds per reception Fasano has almost 300 yds in receptions in the last 4 games Ricky W is averaging 100 ypg Greg C has also picked up his game This is a case were the last 4 games say alot more than the previous 10 games.
Ahhh, stop the whining. Let her rip Chad! Sometimes you gotta let a dog off the leash to lettem him know whats on the other side of the fence. Not like we are going to win the Superbowl. Let the kid toss the tater!
Fasano only has 290 yards on the SEASON, how could he have almost 300 in the past 4 games? He has 177 yards over the past 4 games, but again, not even close to 300.
I'm willing to write off his turnover amount this year, it happens. He's a first year starter, who has had to have the offense re-written for him mid-year, and playing without a serious threat at receiver to open up his arm. If he's doing this next year, then lets show cause for concern. For now, lets take the Ricky and Ronnie (busted) training wheels off, and let him play like a big boy.
Henne is a young QB. He wasn't particularly TO prone at Michigan, so I think it's just part of the growth process. RWs TO are just something you have to live with since we don't have a better option. He has always been fumble prone and I expected that he would have more fumbles as his carries went up. Fasano apparently was injured most of the season and his resurgence seems to correspond with his recovery. IMO he has proven to be a great blocking TE (top 5) who can give you some nice receiving games. I think that if we can pair him with a receiving TE (Gates or Whitten type), we can really open up our passing attack and make things much easier for Henne. (I still want a #1 WR too). If Owens or Scheffler don't break free, I'd be really happy with Gresham or Hernandez in the draft.
I'm of the opposite opinion. I can't remember the last time I looked forward to watching a Miami Dolphins QB on Sunday, excited to see how he airs it out. Oh wait, yes I can. It was January 15th, 2000. (And what a let-down that day was!) But seriously, this is Henne's year to learn and grow into the role. Our rushing attack is fragile & prone to fumbles if we push it too hard with too many carries. Ricky is good, but let's not run him into the ground - remember he's 32, and his backup isn't exactly "lighting it up". Meanwhile our group of receivers is really starting to gel with their QB. Henne is growing in front of our eyes each and every week. The playoffs are a possibility but let's not kid ourselves - I'm more interested in Henne's development than I am about trying to sneak into the playoffs for a probable early elimination. I say throw often Chad. Work on that decision-making, learn how NFL DB's move, and earn those veteran stripes for next year.
Let him do it. The kid needs to learn and get used to facing absolutely everything teams can do to him. He wont learn much by just handing it off to Ricky. Although that play-action deal is something he needs to work on BTW as lately he's starting to get as bad as Dan was in that aspect and isnt really fooling anyone. We dont have the WRs for that type of lazy, poor play-action either. I know he wants to pass and get rid of the ball ASAP but he needs to work on it looking more believable.
I'm with you Rob (Tex), it excites me as well to see Henne air it out. Imagine how much more exciting it'll be when he gets a legit #1 to throw to next year or the year after. Matt Schaub is prone to turnovers as well, just like in last years game. Also, this Dolphins team has shown flashes against the pass this season. They shutdown New England (for the most part) in the second half. Should be a close contest.
