posted this on another thread well before they hired him:

    Friend Jaj:

Nolan is known for running aggressive 3-4 defenses
@ San Francisco as well as w/ the Ravens & Broncos
perfect fit for the Dolphins. why all the negativity?

can't help but believe this has been in the making
since before the decision to let go Paul Pasqualoni

looks like the new DefensiveCoordinator to me

I was just reading the ESPN article, and it mentioned this little diddy:

    Here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4837350

Now, just think about that for a minute. We gave up 24.4 points/game this season. Even if the impact is slightly less, say we shave six points (a TD a game) off that, that puts us at 18.4 points/game. That would put us in the top ten (7th to be exact) of this season's top ranked defenses.

    I'm stoked!

And to be honest, that's not out of the realm of possibility. We gave up way too many big plays for touchdowns. Eliminate those (or even most of those) and you're well on your way to lowering the pts/game allowed.

    This is great news.

I was not excited about Al Groh or Romeo Crennel.

We need someone who will attack the passing game. The teams that are still around in the playoffs are team that can either attack you with their passing game (Saints, Colts, Vikings) or they can attack your ability to pass (Jets, Vikings)

Totally agree. This is really exciting. We do have many parts for a great defense in place. This was a huge part that we added today.

Sounds like a good hire. Hope he can have some influence on who we draft and pick up via FA.

I think they will so they can support Coach Nolan's intentions to strengthen our defense.

With a team as deep in needs as we are (WR, TE, ILB, FS) It's my firm belief you simply go with the best player available that fits your needs and for the love of god and all things that are holy no Pat White picks this year.

Where ya been ya old goat?

Nice, we were #3 in the NFL in sacks so Nolan is not coming to a squad with a barren cupboard.

I do think the D needs some tweaks, maybe some addition via subtraction, but Starks, Wake, Merling, JT and even Porter can all lay some heat on the Qb.

I couldnt agree with this philosophy more for this years draft but i have a feeling that our front office may see it differently. I do hope i am wrong though.

we could shave 6 pts a game off just by benching "where'd he go???" Wilson and starting Barney the purple dinosaur in his place.

It isn't impossible by any stretch, Denver after that awful year, signed some play makers on defense (Hill, Goodman, and Dawkins), and 17 sacks from Dumerviel.....had alot to do with it.....basically brother they need more than Nolan as you said in the other post....they need a great defensive draft, a couple of FA, and a sack happy master......could that person be Wake??

Nolan is going to be good for Wake I believe....

In a total off the subject post, you think Nolan represents the shirt and tie alla his days in SF??? That would be great kinda...although an aqua and orange tie might look terrible hahah

not to worry. there is no dress code.
have always liked the shirt & tie look on a coach.
shows respect for the team & gravitas in a man.
    having said that
the dolphins are due for a new look next season
they may all be suiting up a little differently
look for both a uniform change & defensive performance

    We will Contend in 2010:dolphin:

p90x workout, or Power 90 Extreme, is a property exercise program produced by Tony Horton. Soon after a few times, a guy sees himself in the hospital due to this exercise routine.
Rock a new look by adding sea shells for the summer, rhinestones, stickers for different occasions such as for Valentine’s Day or Christmas, or sport charms nail care such as flowers or birds. The possibilities are endless! Try some of these DIY nail art ideas and get ready for the compliments!

Little early to say that. Also, James Saxon and Dave DeGuglielmo have been pretty damn good additions. Any time your backups play just as good if not better than the starters ahead of them, your position coaches are doing something right.

between BillParcells & his coaching cadre, must have nearly a hundred & fifty years of coaching experience. I find this somehow a great comfort...

always cross the ProvenBull with a young, strong
healthy heifer for the best results in husbandry.

same might be said about rebuilding a franchise in the NFL.
