Yea just saw if he retires it will cost us 98 million.

Id retire today! Zero reason to continue playing. Once you have concussions you are more prone to have them from what I have read. His mother already asked him to retire before siting issue, and now im 100% sure she will tell him again to retire. Hes a young man and has the rest of his life to live if he continues he could die, or at beast have a server handicap or mental issues in his future.

100 Million and what he has already is a nice life for a young man!

Groundhog Day again.. Grier will never build an offensive line year in and out this has been our problem and guess what week 12 we will start the out oline was decimated talk.

I have zero faith we will ever fix this

is there anyway that we could do a three year deal with TUA instead of a 5 year. I know his agent will push for that but is there a precedence or is it even possible to do?

The team is set back years just the same if Tua isn't the QB going forward. "just draft another QB" is odd from fans of a team who went two decades without a good one.

They aren't going to luck into the Patrick Mahomes.

We are supposed to be excited about the idea of 32 year old Tyreek playing with some mediocre rookie QB prospect?

Ill take a 32 Hill who has proven everything he can in the NFL as opposed to a QB who's overpaid and handcuffs the franchise another 5 years and hasn't ONCE lifted the team on his back and won a meaningful game. Im being honest I can't think of a game that he WON it for us when anything mattered..
Its been proven before that Journeyman QB's with a dominating defense and an above average QB can win games, yes the lease is more pass happy now and its important but we every year we see retreads, and mid level QB's become stars on new teams. It's also about the coaching and I believe Mike can make another QB successful in this offense as well without spending 55 Million a year. Surely a 25 million QB can win games..

At this point, they should just give him the money they know they're going to have to give him and get it over with.

Which you rather have TUA or Hill because you ain’t getting both. The dolphins should just ride this out till next year. Prove you’re a Super Bowl quarterback able to elevate your team and you will get paid. If not sign a veteran o and draft another.

signing TUA to a 60mlukn dollar a year deal would kill this franchise for QB who hasn’t won anything. Right or wrong that’s the truth. While you will say others got paid I don’t care I don’t see the upside with absolute perfection in his game.

Lol

You can laugh but im right. This team isn't primed for a Super Bowl run, hell they gotta win a playoff game first. We are not going from 0 wins to the Super Bowl in one year IMHO.

You dont want to see it this way and thats fine, but the reality is were 2-3 year out still.

Actually the way I see our draft, we replenished what we knew we were going to end up losing…

Robinson for Chubb
Paul for Armstead
Wright for Moestert

Any organization has to have the personnel for next man up. I know I e been critical of Grier and have frequently bashed him but it seems to me the mindset of this draft was to maintain the personnel we need when we lose those we have.

this draft and free agency were 100% about maintain the same record as last year with the eye in the future. They know they can’t win the Super Bowl with this roster as it is. They don’t want to step back so they stop gapped the entire team

next year they will try to have a big draft with all their picks and win it all in 3 years.

my personally if we don’t win a playoff game this year Grier is gone and depending on the record McDaniels is on a hot seat

Just playing Devils Advocate…

If we were to trade Tua (and I don’t want to trade him), it would have to be for either an DEFINITIVE upgrade…or part of a rebuild in which we needed multiple draft picks for him.

the question proposed was if neither team could come to a deal and would look to be traded. It’s kinda lateral but might be a good 2-3 stop gap.

If we can't work out a fair contract for TUA are you all still a no?

I know my answer but I would like to know if anyone here would do that deal? DAK has proven he can play, he's also proven he can lose in big situations. Tua has proven 1 year that he can play, Both are looking for bigger deals from their franchises, but its looking more a more that both teams have some real concerns.

Do you think a change of scenery would improve DAK or allow TUA to grow? (Tua obviously would benefit and it would benefit us to keep him, but if DAK would come cheaper, and he can run when needed and has a very good TD/INT ratio last few years and AVG.

Just an interesting discussion to have before the draft and wondering what you guys would do?

I would take DAK over TUA today if I had to have someone for the next 3 years.
Reasoning is show below.

NFL playoff experience, Bigger Games and won, Has consistently played in Cold weather stadiums and performed well. With out targets on Offense I think he could easily get 5K passing 42 TD a year, and Playoff Leadership Experience for probably relevant money.

This is just 2023 stats, but last three years also DAK has been better in almost all categories

Diggs went 8-1 against Miami during his time with the Bills, with 719 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged 13.6 yards per catch and 9.2 yards per target in those games.

The Bills — who this offseason have gutted the core that won all of those titles — will presumably look to the draft to replace him, but the best prospects will be long gone by the time they go on the clock with pick No. 28.

The trade leaves the Bills with just four wide receivers on their roster: Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, Justin Shorter, and Khalil Shakir.

Don't worry JESUS ALLEN will save them he's so cool and good.

Dolphins To Sign OLB Shaquil Barrett
March 12th, 2024 at 10:31am CST • By Adam La Rose
After seeing his Buccaneers tenure come to an expected end, Shaquil Barrett became one of the top veteran edge rushing options on the market. He has now found a new home, having agreed to a deal with the Dolphins (h/t Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz).

It's not just Daniel Jones. Look at the list below, which essentially reveals 18 overpaid quarterbacks and Mahomes. To the detriment of their entire rosters, these teams are paying too much for the QB position. Why would a Dolphins fan want their team to make the same mistake?

1. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals: $55 million (5 years, $275 million)

2. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers: $52.5 million (5 years, $262.5 million)

3. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens: $52 million (5 years, $260 million)

4. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: $51 million (5 years, $255 million)

5. Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos: $49 million (5 years, $245 million)

6. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals: $46.1 million (5 years, $230.5 million)

7. Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns: $46 million (5 years, $230 million)

8. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: $45 million (10 years, $450 million)

9. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills: $43 million (6 years, $258 million)

10 (tie). Daniel Jones, New York Giants: $40 million (4 years, $160 million)

10 (tie). Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams: $40 million (4 years, $160 million)

10 (tie). Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys: $40 million (4 years, $160 million)

13 (tie). Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets: $37.5 million (3 years, $112.5 million)

13 (tie). Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints: $37.5 million (4 years, $150 million)

15. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings: $35 million (1 year, $35 million)

16. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions: $33.5 million (4 years, $134 million)

17. Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans: $29.5 million (4 years, $118 million)

18. Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks: $25 million (3 years, $75 million)

19. Jimmy Garoppolo, Las Vegas Raiders: $24.5 million (3 years, $72.75 million)

hasn’t everyone of those won a playoff game?

I am down with the strategy you've proposed. There is no question the Dolphins organizations pulled out all the stops to try and make the Superbowl the past two seasons, but the roster and coaching fell way short of that goal.
I am also ok with for the 2024 season rolling with Tua on his 5th year option and watching how the team performs.
What would likely be devastating to the team's future is what has been most commonly suggested, which is now committing to Tua for a 4 or 5 year year $200 million plus contract.

I say keep him on a 5th year option play the season out and see what we have.

This has to be the hugest overreaction I've seen on this board in at least...........an hour.

Naw im just done with this. Let's tie up all our money on a QB that even if we agree will be top 5 next year soooooo WHAT! We are not making there playoffs or if we do were 1 and done again. We have a worse defense for sure, a new first time DC, major holes on defense.

We have issue now again on the Oline, were wasting HILL and Waddles careers in Miami.

For once just rebuild PROPER! Trade HILL AND WADDLE and draft young players

With the moves in free agency we're in rebuild mode. I wouldn't sign TUA now. We are not making the Super Bowl in the next two years. Zero reason to not trade Hill and Waddle now and TUA and just start from the ground up. Tiing up all this money on offense and having a 15-3oth ranked defense isnt keys to success.

YES blow it up GRIER should be fired today.

No the dolphins have way more holes on defense and a brand new scheme and coaching staff. To believe a first time DC is going to step in and make the unit better with less talented players as of now is a pipe dream.

the dolphins loaded up hoping for last year to be their year. We will have a 10-7 9-8 record this year. Maybe a wildcard and out again.

zero faith in Griers ability to put together a team good in all three phases of the game in a single season.

Everything said the entire problem with this team has been defense the last few years and we’re rebuilding it again. New defensive coordinator will need to learn his players and fit them to his scheme, all takes time and in 2024 they will not improve over last year imho. So our offense has to step up from the league leading pace they did last year which is hard to imagine especially with a harder schedule.

unless we’re able to pull of some wild offseason I don’t think we finish better than 10-7 in 2024 which may be a wildcard berth

I’m not sure how this impacts our salary cap but if I could I would Trade him! Won’t play 3/4 of the games. We did fine without him for the most part let’s continue the growth for other players.
