I heard about the kissing incident, but not the other unpleasant rumor going around until just now. What a weirdo. He totally did this. There's no denying it. I wonder if it'll ruin his career? Any team willing to take a chance on him is going to have an awkward conversation with him at some point.
They're not tanking until it's time to tank. Nobody is going to flat out say "yeah, we're trying to lose." Fans would simply not go to the games and there would be a massive drop in team sales. Sure, we're going to be perennial losers for the foreseeable future, but the organization still wants to make money. With all that being said, I certainly hope we aren't losers. I hope we shock the NFL world and actually win. I hope Malik Willis turns into a franchise Quarterback and we pull a Seattle. The NFL has quick turnarounds with teams, so it isn't out of the question that we actually improve quicker than expectations say we will.
Tolbert will probably get an opportunity to take one of the available starting positions at wide receiver. Glad to see them working already.
I'm sticking with my Delane prediction at 11, but there's about 7 guys I like at our spot so I'll be happy with whoever we pick.

Barry said that the team's focus is on building through drafting and developing players while NOT tanking. We all know this season will be rough, but if he's right, we're going down swinging as opposed to when Ross *allegedly* ordered Flo to pump the brakes on the competitive play during an obvious tanking season seven years ago (point #5 below). Let's hope he's right. The pitiful play at the beginning of last season - when we actually thought we had a competitive team - made me turn off games and I can't recall doing that in 54 years of being a fan.
This just feels different from past times. It's a reset, but it's one that I feel pretty good about. When we did this with Flo in 2018/19, it was blatantly obvious we were tanking games. There was literally no reason at all to even want to watch the games. Same in 2007. After Ronnie Brown blew out his knee, I was completely done even paying attention to that team. This does feel different in a sense that there is an actual plan in place. Build through the draft, no gimmicks, no BS, this is going to be a football team first and foremost. Sullivan has already impressed me with what he's done. Either that, or Grier was just THAT BAD. Yet here we are. We just signed the most sought-after quarterback in free agency which blew my mind. We're also staring at a war chest of draft picks right away to use which is also pretty frickin awesome, and to top things off, we are keeping Achane in the house. I get that in Green Bay they had big bruising backs, but it goes back to what I just said. This is going to be a football team with football players, and De'von Achane is a football player through and through. You don't get rid of that. Absolutely loving the offseason so far. Not at all upset that we traded Waddle. He's been a walking injury his entire time here, and while he never missed significant time, it did seem as though every game, he was either nicked up, or knocked out. He never was able to step it up as a #1 option, and based off of where we drafted him, it was more than expected that he be able to do that. I wish him well in Denver.
Definitely a lot to like about him, and he's entering the age where players really start to figure out the league. I know we're downsizing in terms of talent around him, but this just doesn't feel like a tanking season. We've got a war chest of draft picks. I really like where this is going. This team is going to be competitive on Sundays. I don't expect playoffs, but I also don't see another 2007, or 2018 where teams were just mopping us.
Waddle fell of after his second season. Seemed like he was getting injured more often. It's good value for him. It'll be interesting to see what exactly we do with the receiver room now.
I think we're hoping for Willis to hit the same way Darnold and Mayfield hit once they switched teams.
I like Atwell. Glad we signed him. He was one of the guys I liked this off-season. No... He's not going to catch 100 passes for us. He probably won't even start. But...I like what he offers on the field. He's fast, and he can catch the football. It's too bad he's limited in stature, but maybe he finds a home here. I actually remember his dad who played college in the Big 10 for Minnesota. Same type of receiver, but never made it in the NFL. Atwell Jr is one bad season away from being out of the league. He'll play with urgency in Miami. I like his chances to make the team.
We also signed Jalen Tolbert. He's got some experience too with Dallas. 30 starts, 2024 was his best year. 6'1 195. He's a sleeper signing.
I'm actually loving the off-season moves for some reason. We're getting guys with experience for reasonable deals to help shape this roster. Perfect age range as well. Some of these additions are going to hit.
We've never had a dual threat at the quarterback position. Never considered Tannehill one. Willis is something different that this franchise has never had. Height wise, yeah he's similar to Tua, but that is where the physical comparison stops. Willis was an athlete before he was ever a quarterback. Tua was a quarterback who simply is not an athlete. The arm strength is different with Willis having a gun on him. Tua is by far the more accurate of the two in in my opinion. I think Tua processes quicker than Willis, but I think Willis takes what the defense gives him whereas Tua went all to Hell whenever his first read wasn't there. There are some things Tua does better than Willis, but it won't be enough to make me miss him being here in the slightest. Very excited about Malik Willis. It's a gutsy signing and it could pay off big time. I don't think this new staff came here with the intentions of tanking away another season just to get a better draft pick. These guys are trying to build a winner right away and I love that. Nobody wants to purposely sit through a losing season. You always try to build a winner. Now if it doesn't work with Willis, he gets hurt, we start losing a ton of games, the yeah...We shift towards the draft, but as of right now, this signing all by itself makes me super excited to see what happens with this team next year. We've seen crazier things happen. Jim Harbaugh went into San Francisco and immediately turned that team into a winner. He did it with a limited cast and he did it with two different quarterbacks in the same season.
I like what I saw from him last season in Green Bay. As others pointed out, he can play in cold weather. I think he's going to give us a chance to win some games. It's a three year deal. He gets this season to prove himself. He's already a proven, reliable backup. If he's not our guy, then we draft our guy in 2027 and Willis is still here for two seasons as a backup. It's not exactly a bad position to be in.

You know the forum is toast when no one is talking about signing our new QB Malik Willis
Do you like the signing?
I like Willis. Let's Fkin do this. Not a fan of Quinn Ewers at all. I'll take him as a backup, but I think signing Willis means we are still trying to compete. It's a low-risk signing in my opinion, with a very high ceiling. I support this. I really liked what little I saw of Willis last season. Gives us something at the position that we have never had here, and that is first-class athleticism. This is something totally new, and exciting at the same time. Main issue with Willis is going to be his health. If he stays healthy, he'll be a decent quarterback for us. I'm not expecting MVP type numbers from him. I think we are going to be a defensive-minded team with Willis as more of a game manager. He can make most throws, and he can make things happen with his feet. I think this is a great signing and it's certainly going to keep us interested.
See ya Tua...It's been a rollercoaster that I'm glad to be off of. BEst of luck in the ATL...Hopefully you find a connection with Drake London. "That'd be dope."
I'll take Murray on a reasonable deal if possible. I bet he's wishing he had played baseball instead. Would have made way more money. He'll be a starter somewhere else. I don't think he's a bad quarterback. His time in Arizona was just over.
He is set up for generations at this point. Maybe he gets into coaching if he wants to stay close to the game. If we're gonna do this, then just fkin do it and don't look back. It was a hell of a mistake on the part of Grier and Ross to sign him long term. It was Hella frustrating trying to support him through the years that he was here. It really needs to be done. Hopefully we can move on..."that'd be dope."
Didn't see it as a possibility, but if we can do it then LFG.
I compare it to playing a winnable lottery. As in the odds aren't completely stacked against you. The way I see it, you have about a 25% chance of landing a franchise quarterback with a FRDP. Those aren't odds you take unless you're looking for a franchise quarterback because in the unlikelihood you do hit on one, Your team is set for years to come. Therefore you play the odds despite them not being in your favor. We see it every year. Teams reach for quarterbacks.

He had 8.5 sacks last season. I’m not sure why he has to prove anything. He will also be 2 years removed from his injury.
I'm sorry, you seem to have taken my small response way out of context. When I said "prove it" contract I simply meant that he's not going to get a massive pay day wherever he goes. Somebody is going to get him at a reasonable price and he's going to play well for him (I hope). That's all I meant man. Sorry if I pissed you off with suggesting that. You seem to have a spontaneous attraction to picking out little phrases I use only to weaponize them against me. Why don't you just stop quoting me?
Chubb is going to sign a prove-it deal somewhere and actually become an impactful player for the the team he's on.
