I was never crazy about this hire. When Flo fired Chad O'Shea and hired Chan Gailey, I feel that seated his fate. And losing his DC after year one as well. Way too much turnover in the staff and on the roster for continual development and growth. It wasn't sustainable.

That said I feel he needed one more season to try to build on what was here, especially as the D outperformed most of the time. I dont trust Ross and Grier to get this right, as usual.

More Dolphins spinning wheels as they have for 20 something years now.

Outside of Howard and Landry, really no quality starters. Satele and Misi were decent but not good. I’m guessing 4/16 would put us in the bottom of the league for 2nd round picks.

That list makes me queasy.

If you change Jake Long and Jared Odrick to Matt Ryan and Earl Thomas, which was certainly possible, you have an entirely different team for the past decade.

Jared freaking Odrick. Another one of many players that we drafted that were in no way anymore special that was picked over guys that were obviously much more superbly talented. Guys like Koa Misi and others. That's not even Monday morning quarterbacking, many of us saw how obvious some of these bad draft picks were when they were being made. Why does this team constantly miss on these seemingly obvious picks? From one idiotic regime to another? I seriously think some of our resident armchair GMs who do mock drafts on here and other sites can do hell lot better picking players than the last few GMs we've had, I mean just look at our draft record. Obviously this team hasn't had a clue. Even when we draft well we don't retain those players. So what is the point?

We can't even tank right. Is there anything this team can get right? Same ol dumpster fire Dolphins. Shooting ourselves in the foot since 2000.

Derwin James should have been the pick if we were intent on getting a DB, it was pretty obvious even during the draft. As good as Fitzpatrick was in college and playing on a great team in ALA and for Saban, James just looked like a more complete, talented and established player. Fitz, while talented, just didnt have a set position, those type of guys are too risky to take as high as we did. Sure James did alot of moving around too, but it looks like SD was able to utilize him much more efficiently, and they knew where to play him if they didn't ask him to move around. With James, you knew what you were getting. With Fitz, it was a big question mark. Heck there were other talented guys available who were established at their position, even a guy that we just got our asses kicked by, who's also a hometown kid in Lamar Jackson. But as usual, our draft brass always thinks they're smarter than everyone else, and always go against the conventional wisdom pick (oh we need a QB? HA, we'll take a DB! Oh there's a better one available who's more set at S? Nope, we'll take a slot CB/S/LB who's like a swiss army knife! We're so smart! Why draft for one need with a player when you can draft a guy that covers all of our needs in the secondary! Brilliant! ) Like we have the past several drafts. And who/what do we have left on this roster to show for it? Why in hell did Ross entrust Grier to run this team and entrust him to rebuild the roster? The one constant who's been a part of this team's front office since the start of our downfall from grace as one of the league's premier teams? For the record I'm on board with rebuilding, something we should've done a long time ago, before Flores/Grier, before Gase, before the Tannebaum dumpster fire of a hire, before even Philbin. But there is a right way and a wrong way to rebuild, and as usual, the Dolphins have found a way to screw this up too.

Why would any player want to come here now, unless all they want is to take advantage of our desperation and get a nice payday? Those blue chip guys from Alabama and other talented programs, rest assured they will see all of this and think twice about wanting to come here. Sure they might not have a choice of where they get drafted, but they can always refuse to play for us, sit out camp, demand a trade, ect. Heck they can pull an Eli/Elway move and force us to trade them before we even get to draft them. This current approach to tanking, rebuilding, whatever you want to call it, is already becoming a spectacular disaster, and we haven't even played week 2 yet (which will almost assuredly will be a massacre of epic proportions). Now were trading away recent high draft picks who are still pretty good and clearing the roster out of players we can build on. We just love creating more holes to fill like we do every year. Lord have mercy on this team.

I admit I have no idea if Gase is a quality headcoach or not. Because the real problem with this team is the overall lack of talent throughout the roster. I seriously doubt there is any head coach in the league, including Belichick could do much with this roster.

To me the real issue is Tannebaum and his total inability in providing Gase with the type of talent needed to compete with the better teams in the NFL. Right now they are having trouble competing with the bad teams in the NFL.

So as long as Tannebaum remains in his position with the Dolphins, it doesn’t matter who the headcoach is. Because as long as he remains as Head Of Football Operations, this team will have nothing but the most overpaid roster in the league, filled with mediocre or worse players.

This.

Normally, the way we've been playing in second half i wouldn't think coming back from 20 is out of the question (which is weird if you think about it). But for some reason Baltimore has our number. I am not getting my hopes up.

Which is why they're on our schedule every year.

Im thinking with the new mobile friendly layout, tapatalk is no longer supported or necessary. The "other site" recently did the same thing.

Tony Dungy admits they did steal signals, but by reading lips or figuring out other teams hand signals and code words. That's been going on for ages. That's why coaches cover their mouths and constantly change up signals and code words during games. There's a huge difference between that and the Pats video guys sneaking into other teams practices and filming their walkthroughs, signals, and who knows what else was on those tapes because we'll never know. One is being football smart and trying to get advantage over your opponent, and the other is blatantly cheating. If Manning knew what the other defense was doing because he saw their formation and figured out their hand signals/code words, that's perfectly fine and shows how smart of a QB he is. If Tom Brady knew what the other defense was doing because he saw film of the other teams practice walk-throughs and saw their coaches hand signals and heard the playcalling code words on that tape, that's blatantly cheating. Not saying Tom Brady isn't a smart QB, but there's a clear difference between what the Patriots actually were caught doing versus what Deion Sanders is comparing what the Colts and basically every other team does and has done for decades since football was invented.

Wade says Heat is still his organization.

"There's times where in my mind, if I look at the schedule and if I see the Heat is playing someone, say, 'Heat versus Denver,' I'm like, 'Dang, we got Denver?' It's in my mind. I mean, 13 years," Wade told Vertical site founder Adrian Wojnarowski. "And it's not even just me, it's people around me. 'Hey, man, you coming to the city?' I'm like, 'Uh, no, that's probably the Heat. The Bulls are somewhere else.' "

"I look back at those 13 years and I just smile," he said on the podcast. "It's hard to reflect while you're in it. But now that I'm out of those 13 years with the organization, I look back. I think people think that I want the Heat to do bad or people probably think that, 'Oh, he still follows the Heat?' Yes, I follow the Heat. I watch all their games...

That habit has been hard to shake even at home, Wade said on The Vertical podcast. He asked one of his sons to grab his "Heat shorts" when he meant board shorts.

Despite the circumstances that led to his exit, Wade said he still roots for the Heat and watches their games. "Oh, he still follow the Heat? Yes, I follow the Heat. ...
"I'm checking up on them because at the end of the day, it's always going to be a part of me. Their organization is always going to be my organization in some form and some way because of what I was able to accomplish there and where my career stands. I want nothing but success for them."

Wade added he has no doubt his jersey eventually will be retired in Miami, where he won three championships.

Awww D-Wade, we heart you too.

Its cool that we can just dismiss all the evidence of the times they were caught cheating and we can all act like it doesn't matter. We've become a society that looks the other way when a person or organization achieves success through rigging the game. It's almost praised now. So hail to the thieves!

And I don't care if I sound childish or irrational. I'm a sports fan, I'm supposed to be that way.

Did New England get called for even a single penalty last night? The refs always seem to "let them play the game" whenever they're at home.

How is it that NE hasnt had a single penalty all game?
