I actually live in LA now, I was going watch the Dolphins crush the Redskins grabbing some breakfast at Barney's Beanery.
I need a new avatar now also, it's a new era.
Hey guys I am going to try and post more this year, been a bit crazy with life but enjoy my Sox and baseball talk.

1 year 9 million dollar deal. I like this move by the Sox, potential bounce back year for Masterson, if he does well could get a pick for him, if he stinks he's gone.
Beat reporters are reporting that the Sox still aren't done making moves.
I had a feeling this guy was coming back. Would have really liked Lester back, for 20 over 6 years it's crazy not to commit, also considering you had to trade prospects just to get a consolation arm.
Something tells me the Sox will resign Masterson to take one slot.

Agreed they don't have any value. Just talking about getting guys off the 40 man at the end of the year.
I am mildly shocked now that the A's didn't ask for Nava.

Which I think is good in this case in the sense that these kids get to pitch at the MLB level with seemingly no pressure on them of a playoff race. They can take their lumps and develop. Much rather see Webster, Ranuado, Workman or RDLR pitch and possibly struggle then Doubront or a Bedard/Caupano type.
And Monster, unfortunately you might need a new avy soon....
I totally agree, all those guys are on the cusp, lets see what you got.
While the Sox didn't get any huge prospects the 2 lefties they got are both pretty good, the Sox minors are loaded with talent.
Wow I have been rocking the Lester avy for a while now, unless you go with a new guy it's a tough time for Sox avy's.

Speculation, and obviously we are a long way from the offseason, but the Sox are going to be players for both Lester and James Shields this winter.
If that's the case it's extremely importment that the Sox continue to suck and get a top 10 protective pick.
The pitching staff is going to give up plenty of runs the next few months. Essentially Sox will be throwing a whole AAA staff.

Sox badly need power bats so they can probably live with the poor OBP. Between Cespesdes, JBJ and Victorino runners will have to think twice trying to take an extra base.
His deal is only through 15', I remember it being a 4 year deal. That will be great to watch and the Sox desperately need MLB ready power.

Might as well trade Lackey next too as his trade value will never be higher. Andrew Miller, Stephen Drew, Mike Carp too. And I still don't know why the Sox aren't thinking about trading Koji too. I'd trade them all at this point.
Ok deal for the Sox, great deal for the A's. I would have liked a young stud, but looks like that wasn't happening, at least Cespesdes hits HR, but his OBP is awful. Can't wait to see the arm from LF.
Seriously they had a poll I couldn't believe people want to keep guys at such a high %. Fire sale, everyone's ready to go.
Ok I hope Cherington can play the Dodgers off the Cards and get a nice haul for Lester. Time to pay up Ned.

Yeah I get the feeling Lester is a goner and won't be resigned in the offseason either.
My gut tells me this, the dreamer in me says they have a deal worked out and Lester wants to really help the team.

Ok been extremely busy but, Josh Beckett wow. I thought the guy lost it but I am happy for him. Big Game is back.
Just got XM back recently, would love to hear a win on the radio.
Grimes badly wants a long term deal. When he was in Atlanta is was a big thing, and until he gets it he won't be happy, franchise money be damned.
Braves are killing it right now, Kimbrel, Tehran locked up cheaply and Freeman taken care of well. The 1st two are no brainers and the Freeman deal unless he gets hurt probably won't hurt the Braves as much him continuing to grow and outplaying the deal.
If I am the Sox I am saving that money till the trade deadline, I think you can do better than Drew for a couple of years if Middlebrooks doesn't work out. Sox would have money and prospects and everyone could be in play.
Will rookies ever to do stupid rookie shows or hazing like things again? Seems like teams will crack down on it, no more sending over James Harrison when some rookie doesn't want to do the show.

Why is the Middle East the only place someone can go? Many places in Europe have more freedom and benefits then the US.
I enjoy your use of benefits.

First day of ST, like always.
We really should just have an AL East thread. As unfortunately outside of you, me, Nappy, GM and cameos from FFG, Prez and YankLifer no one else really is around anymore.
I had a bad season in a Sox title year.. I wish it was like the old days when I could watch every pitch and post daily. I look forward to this year though.
