Not that it means anything but Bain is someone who is now falling to 11 in mock drafts more consistently. People have soured on him a little. Does that mean NFL execs have? We'll find out in a few weeks.
I don’t think this regime would draft Bain, even if he fell to us. If Green Bay is an indication of how Sullivan drafts, Bain doesn’t fit the mold with his „Alligator“ arms. Interested in where Bain lands, film normally doesn’t lie, but his arms are a real deficit in the NFL.
I don’t know by now and since Shula is gone, there have been many worst and we‘ve been sucky since quite some time now. Might as well call us the Miami Browns (or insert whatever franchise). We used to by one of NFL finest, it’s been a while…

He can say what he wants.. hes available at the right price.. if some team offers 2 firsts you think theyre dumb enough to say no? His contract is up, he is younger than Saquon and Jonathan Taylor… he will command a higher contract than both.. especially after what Kenneth Walker got from the Chiefs.. we would be dumb to turn down 2 firsts and god knows if the offer becomes more than that, dont count out 3 firsts
I don’t think that anybody will offer 2 or even 3 first round picks for Achane, if somebody does it, there is no doubt in my mind that we would do it in a heartbeat.
The more I read and watch about him,
the more I like him. Hopefully he becomes what Tua should’ve been…
Like the move, Waddle was not the right pick back then, good but not a great player. Let’s see what the new regime can do with those picks.

I know his measurable are similar to Tua, but the way that he is built is vastly different. He does not appear fragile at all to me. He looks bigger on the field too.
I agree he’s different to Tua and doesn’t have his injury history. The contract is fair as well, really hope he shines and finally is the QB we‘ve been looking for since Marino. I’m just skeptical that his style of play is sustainable with his measurables, time will tell.

Can someone explain void years? Is that years after the contract finishes that he's still getting paid? Or does it mean we cancelled future years so he can re-negotiate after this season?
What you wrote 1st as far as my understanding of it.
Liked what I saw from him last season and looks like a fair deal to me.

It is starting QB money, low risk. If it dont work out, we move on after the 2027 season.
Fair point, I just don’t think he‘ll last long in this league, he’s not much bigger than Tua. Hope he shines!

Never seen him play but these guys did see him everyday in practice so will see.
Time will tell, just saying that they better got that right. Would be a bad look if he fails and not a good start for this regime.
Not a fan of this signing, they better got that right.

Still hoping Reuben Bain Jr has a photo leaked with him wearing a gas mask and a bong so that he drops to our pick
His alligator arms probably will drop him a bit. Not sure who I want us to draft yet.

Almost no one. And whoever they sign will make about league minimum
Hopefully!

Ricky signed the worst contract in the history of the NFL and every agent knows about it and why those tactics are not permitted anymore. While it sounded great, he essentially received the league minimum and 2.3M in bonuses (out of $68M possible) over his first 7 seasons.
Virtually everyone in the NFL made more than Ricky.
I know, doesn’t change anything from what I wrote. Ricky is a really great guy who got used by most people…

Yeah I think he would have known something wasn't right. I'm not saying he necessarily knew he was physically gonna fall off the cliff, but yeah I think it's naive to think a pro athlete didn't feel something off and in decline in his body.
I agree, he tried everything to stay on the field and it didn’t work, can’t blame him for signing that contract though who wouldn’t have done it? Ricky (Williams) is probably the only one who wouldn’t have done it. He wanted a performance related contract when he came into the league, if I remember correctly. Still one of my favorite Dolphins of all time!

Curious what Gase has been doing for the last 5 years.
Probably some blow… ;)

My only concern is him becoming too involved as a play caller on defense that the rest of team suffers as a result.
Gase, Flores, McDaniel…probably even Philbin as well. They were too involved in their area of expertise and not the entire picture. Gotta have a head coach that leads and is smart of the entire team, not just 1 of the 3 facets.
Definitively would remove Philbin from this list, he’s one of the worst coaches to ever coach the Dolphins. I‘m not to concerned when it comes to that, it’s quite common in the NFL that a HC is mostly involved with one side of the football team. Most important thing is, that he can assemble a good coaching staff.
Liked what I saw as well! Time will tell.
After watching a little bit of the presser, I was amazed that we now have twins in charge of our Dolphins…

I agree that this was probably the reality. And it was likely the wrong move as well. He should have kept McD with Tua, got him some redemption highlight tape in order to raise his trade value, and then made a coaching change if it was necessary. This left us in the worst possible position with Tua and it's going to bite us.
One other thing to consider- we've only really seen McDaniel with Tua. He's being fired due to Tua. Yet we had a very potent offense when Tua could deliver. Logically speaking, wouldn't we be better off with McD and a new QB than a HC who's never put together an NFL offense that epic?
In my book, McD didn't fail. The offensive line failed. Tua failed. But McDaniel continued to make lemonade out of lemons. Now that we finally have the OL somewhat figured out, I just think it's a really stupid move.
We'll see though in a few seasons.
One last thing to add to my rant. The day he was fired, Ross said, "I love Mike McDaniel and I love his offensive mind." Then why fire him?!? Duh. That may have been the first time ever a professional coach was fired with an 'I love you' speech.
I agree with most of what you wrote but he didn’t quite make lemonade out of lemons. When you look at his rosters then Flores made more out of nothing than he did. I would’ve understood if they canned McDaniel, if they were sure to get a Harbaugh or Tomlin, but this seems like the usual we come to expect with this franchise, only time will tell…
