Winning football games at any level comes down to winning in the trenches.

I just logged in and the site looks completely different- was this a crash or an intentional update? The previous version felt vastly more modern in looks and usability. Even the logo is different...what happened?!?

Is he David Boston's kid, or related to him?

Google says there's no relation...although an X post from a random user said they're father and son. The mainstream media outlets say there's no relations though and they come from different states. So the answer sounds like, "No."

I don’t like that a guys reputation gets sullied on a bunch of maybe this maybe that. Maybe he deserves the benefit of the doubt without you all disparaging a mans reputation like it’s just nothing. Like it’s nothing.

I agree and you can close the topic if you'd like. I only shared it because it was the offseason and he was making the news. We don't know if ANY OF THIS is true since what actually happened is being covered up. Maybe it was serious, maybe it was nothing. We have no idea.

I tried to share it that way and I apologize if I came up short.

Most would disagree with me, but I don't think a prototypical WR1 is absolutely necessary to win in the NFL. I think you can have just as much success with guys like Edelman, Welker, Hartline, 7-Eleven (Hogan), etc. Just solid possession receivers with great hands running crisp routes.

Is it easier to have a Tyreek or a Waddle? Absolutely. I just don't think it's as big of a deal as it once was.

Can't criticize Achane, I'm not showing up for OTA's either.

If he intentionally held out wanting more money now, then I can fault him for it for sure. He's under contract and the Dolphins are honoring that contract. He should too. In my opinion, its bad faith to not show up for work while asking for a raise.

If he wants big money, then he should understand that our cap space is extremely limited for this season. I mean, we get it as fans, surely a player would have some clue how all of that worked. Hopefully this gets ironed out soon.

I can't see this being an issue when other teams are offering solid trade value for him. If we didn't think we could get a deal done, he'd not be here anymore.

Besides, maybe he wasn't expected for day one...we don't know.

Well since we're being honest and open here...

Look Geo, I have no doubt that you are a fan. You often post your youtube links but Im going to be perfectly honest with you, Ive never watched a single one of them. I completely disregard any of your threads and the reason being, you do not engage here. You do not participate in conversations. You start a thread with a long title, post the link to your youtube video and that's it. It's a "hey look at me" spotlight ranger post.

If you can't engage and participate on this site, then I would ask you to not even bother posting...but that's just me.

I've watched several of their videos, mainly when they have a guest I know on, and it's a pretty good podcast. I do agree though that just posting clickbait titles and not participating in the forum in any way rubs people the wrong way.

For instance, they interviewed Travis a few months back and I watched BECAUSE Travis was one of us for years. He doesn't post here anymore because he's working for the Dolphins, but we all know him as a person and where he came from, how his career advanced, etc. I helped him write his first pitch letter for a paid Dolphins blogging gig almost 10 years ago.

All we're saying is, it's hard to ask us to support your brand when you don't support ours. You can aim for random clicks or you can be a part of a community (on this site and others). If Travis reached out to me today for help, I'd drop what I was doing and help...no questions asked. If he posts something, I watch because I'm proud of him. Everyone that knows him does that.

You could be like Travis...or you could be a guy who posts random podcast links on a bunch of Dolphins forums. I promise you that Travis's path will be a lot more lucrative for your brand long-term. That's completely up to you though.

I realize in the social media world today, people respond to shocking titles that promise a golden nugget of wisdom. At the same time though, this is a Dolphins forum where folks have followed this team for 5, 10, even 20+ years.

I promise you that not a single person here thought, "Wow, this mock draft will completely fix the Dolphins, let me click the link to see who they're predicting!"

That's like me saying I visited your hometown and found several of the best restaurants in the entire nation. But once you click my video link, you see that I name Pizza Hut and Subway. What are the chances that you'd ever click a link of mine ever again?

I'm not trying to "beat you up" here, I'm just saying that the gimmick titles work for random YouTubers sometimes, but it doesn't resonate with die-hard fans more than once. Anyone who's posting on a football forum in April isn't here passively; they're here for the community and the real insights.

These are my friends, my brothers, and they deserve more honesty than the title you provided.

I do have my own preferences, no doubt. But I also watched a cutup of every single play he had with GB where he stayed in the pocket and didn't run, and his mechanics and footwork and passing motion are just awful. I mean, to the level where its hard to believe he's an NFL QB. If you disregard the result of the play and just focus on him and what he's doing, I think its pretty clear that NFL defensive coaches are just going to slaughter him and our offense.

Well, the good news is that he's progressed tremendously each season and that's coming off the bench. Hopefully he continues to develop and can become at least our bridge QB for the next few seasons.

I'm also hoping that we draft a QB in the mid or late rounds. That's always been my philosophy, carry 3 and have a new guy every single season. I think Ewers proved enough to be a competent backup anyway since he didn't have any glaring negative plays in his limited starts. Maybe neither of them are "the guy" today, but that's the Green Bay way...keep drafting and developing until you have two solid QB's. They've done that for a very long time now successfully.

"Unlucky 13 wrote:

Oh i think that Willis is awful. If hes not injured I expect that he'll be benched sometime after mid season when our record is something like 1-10.

Aah, okay. I hope you're wrong and I am encouraged by his more recent film in GB. I know you dislike mobile QBs though and that's exactly what we have.

One thing that kind of stuck in the back of my mind watching highlight film of the last two years, he often made a spectacular play on 3rd and 20 or something like that. But I really wanted to see the first two downs that led to the 3rd and 20 situation to begin with. Did the QB choke or did a lineman jump offsides? The context definitely matters there and I don't have it, LOL.

Whatever needs to happen to this season to get to the top pick, that's what I'm pulling for. I don't see it as a deep class at all. Two guys with potential at the top, though questions to. That's it.

I'm honestly not sure if we will be that bad (to secure #1 overall). Willis and Achane in the backfield is going to be chaos for defenses; we just need someone to catch the ball and there's no shortage of NFL possession receivers. Even without a WR1, I think we'll score enough to win 5+ games this year.

Maybe the defense lets us down though and let's many wins slip through our fingers. If that's the case, so be it. More than anything though, I want to see a competitive football team because that's what builds the culture.

As much as I liked McDaniel, there really was zero excuse to start last season with a historically terrible defense. You can't build a team like that because nobody is going to buy in. If it happens once, okay, you're humbled and you come out like roaring lions the next week. But if we start like that again, losing quickly becomes the norm and it's super hard to turn that around.

I'll take winning culture over #1 overall any day of the week. We'll see how it all shakes out though.

Many of you know this guy is an absolute beast and it's one that we shouldn't have let walk away. He outplayed his contract though and we couldn't afford him. No need to talk that part out since I think we all agree. Stud player but too expensive.

Anyway, he went to the Raiders, hurt his foot, and spent most of the last two seasons on injured reserve. In the few games he did play, he balled out. But he pretty much hasn't played at all.

Here's where things get weird.

He had foot surgery, was rehabbing properly, and had a setback. The Raiders told him he needed another surgery. His specialists said he didn't, so he insisted on continuing the rehab. Then the Raiders cut him over it.

Strange, right? But that's not the entire story.

The rest of the story is whispers and hush-hush stuff, but evidently there was an incident in the locker room. Maybe many incidents...you folks know he's a clown and always making people laugh. However, this seems beyond that.

First, it's reported that he kissed a teammate on the head. But others inside the locker room have said that it was a lot more than that to reporters. No credible sources, nothing on the record, but players have whispered that Wilkins stuck his finger up someone's rear end. The Raiders had a complaint filed and HR investigated it. Nothing at all has been said publicly, other than Wilkins was released for not getting a 2nd foot surgery.

Anyway, I heard this today because his agent made a claim that 26 of the 32 NFL teams had inquired about signing him over the past few weeks. I doubt we were one of the six that passed...who knows though. I'm guessing the Raiders didn't reach out so that leaves 5 teams outside the mix. There's another rumor being floated though that the league will require substantial proof that this incident was a moment of horrible judgement and not something more.

Some have even whispered that this is a predatory thing, that similar things have happened before. Yet nobody has said anything openly on record. I'm not even sure why I'm sharing this, other than I was flabbergasted when I heard about it today. Maybe this was a prior topic and I just missed it.

It was a good interview. I think Sullivan was forthright and candid about the Dolphins and their current situation. Furthermore it sure seemed to me they are far from tank mode. They’re going to try and win as many games possible, which could explain the rumor mill of the Dolphins really trying to pick up a second 1st round draft pick for 2027…just in case they do well enough this season to keep them from drafting high enough in 2027.

Im just really eager to see what the Dolphins do prior to and on draft day. I have a feeling we’re going to see a trade or 2 of draft picks during the draft.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing us trade pick #30 for a 2027 first round pick. We don't know this regimen though so we don't know if they're likely to move upwards or downwards based on their boards. I hope they would move if they see someone they really want; that's always frustrated me when we said, "We would have taken so and so a few spots earlier, but we knew the other team wanted him too." If that's the case, move up and get your person!

Edge rusher Rueben Bain won’t have to travel far for his next pre-draft visit with a team.

I like that we're looking at homegrown talent like Jimmy Johnson did back in the 80's when he took over the Canes. Miami has elite athletes due to the heat and humidity; folks from up north can't come down and run here easily. I like Bain and Beck in this draft.

I watched the actual interview and on Waddle, he said that we probably wouldn't be competing for the division for a few seasons and Waddle is in his prime now. They did not want to trade him, but replacing his salary with two rookie contracts made sense for right now. They liked the offer and felt that it was fair for both teams, so they made the move.

For Achane, however, he said that the kid is special and he's the future of the franchise. They are working on extending him now and they don't want him to go anywhere.

Throughout the interview, he repeated "this is an extraordinary set of circumstances," meaning that he took on a team with a ton of free agents and no money to pay them next year. He also said that several players are on a one-year "prove it" contract and he hopes each of them does prove it. His main focus was nailing the draft because those 11 picks ultimately need to turn into 11 starters in the years to come.

I understand what you mean pump. But look at it this way, come 2027, we’re projected to have $143 million in cap space. I don’t think we’ve EVER had that much money on the books

That's true and the even more important part is that we might have a GM that understands that the cap space is for retaining players...not splash free agent signings that break the bank.

I am proud to say that the day we signed Chris Grier, I posted a thread here calling him the ultimate snake oil salesman. Many of you hated me for it, but I was so positive because he was such a con man with all the right answers yet not an ounce of substance to anything he said. I can still see Ross smiling like a buffoon as he repeated "perennial playoff contenders" over and over. We basically tanked three seasons to end up where we are today...in cap-hell, forced to trade away talent, and completely starting over.

Looking back through a 2026 lens, we traded Tunsil for three first round picks, and we gained....bah bah bah....a few 2-3 year rentals that we sent back to the dealership. It's literally inexcusable how poorly mismanaged we were, and we lost our own 1st round pick due to tampering over Grier's incompetence as well.

I am very glad that his era has ended in Miami and we can actually get back to building a football team the correct way (by identifying, signing, and retaining home-grown talent).

Okay, I feel better now! I haven't ranted like that on here in ages.

Every day, it's more obvious that Grier was fired when it became evident that his management of the roster was leading to this moment. No GM should get two full resets in six years. Especially when the first tear down was necessary because of his own inability to produce a winner and keep the financials viable.

Grier bet the farm on Tua from the very start. And I think the only thing that kept him here was Tua's growth under McDaniel. So while we let talented free agents walk away and lopsided the roster, Tua was still producing so the mirage of a successful path remained.

Honestly, I wonder how many more games we might have won with Tyreek last season. The defense was horrid to start, so maybe it wouldn't have made much of a difference. Hill was the lipstick on the pig, so to speak, and once that was gone it became very clear what we actually had in a roster.

I did love the late resurgence of a run game and good blocking up front...but there's nobody in their right mind that would credit that to Grier. He literally ran our roster into the ground with one of the worst front office strategies ever.

The collapse began years earlier though, we just couldn't see it because we were looking at the lipstick on the pig and all the other gimmicks to compensate. The failure was there all along though.

2025 1 Kenneth Grant 13 DT
2025 2 Jonah Savaiinaea 37 OL
2025 5 Jordan Phillips 143 DL
2025 5 Jason Marshall 150 CB
2025 5 Dante Trader 155 SAF
2025 6 Ollie Gordon 179 RB
2025 7 Quinn Ewers 231 QB
2025 7 Zeek Biggers 253 DL

2024 1 Chop Robinson 21 DE
2024 2 Patrick Paul 55 OL
2024 4 Jaylen Wright 120 RB
2024 5 Mohamed Kamara 158 DL
2024 6 Malik Washington 184 WR
2024 6 Patrick McMorris 198 DB
2024 7 Tahj Washington 241 WR

2023 2 Cam Smith 51 DB
2023 3 De'Von Achane 84 RB
2023 6 Elijah Higgins 197 WR
2023 7 Ryan Hayes 238 OL 2

2022 3 Channing Tindall 102 LB
2022 4 Erik Ezukanma 125 WR
2022 7 Cameron Goode 224 OLB
2022 7 Skylar Thompson 247 QB

Not many of those names are still on the roster...but you'd think we'd have enough to earn a dot on the board. We're in last place because so many of those picks were a bust or we let them walk away in free agency.

If throwing a pretty looking ball in practise was all it took Jeff George would be a first ballot HoFer.

I’m not going to get enthused until I see him doing the job in real pads against a real pass rush and real CBs in a real game.

Of course that's the goal. But for March, it's an encouraging sign that he's taking the initiative to get to work. I'm sure a lot of the NFL is on vacation right now and not doing any work.

There was actually a much longer video of that same practice on YouTube shorts but I couldn't figure out how to share it. He's throwing well though and looks to be ready for the season...great sign!
