I hate this. I really do. I'm not sure what you're realistically going to get at 30, and now you're in awful shape at WR. I hope I'm wrong.

Yea, not a fan. It might make sense long term, but I definitely don't like it right now.

It will make mock drafts more fun I guess, but getting rid of good players never seems like a great move to me, especially when there's nothing behind.

Don't think there was a better QB option to be reasonably obtained this offseason, and contract doesn't preclude taking a shot next year if things don't work out.

Difficult to complain.

Also Dulcich is like the UFA I really wanted to bring back most.

Was there last fall! What they call "chili" tastes nothing like any chili anywhere. Eastern European chili is a whole different food group. That said, it tastes wonderful. And their chicken paprikash is to die for!

The paprikash is my wife's favorite.

Give me Tony Packo's over either of those two.

That's really surprising. They tend to try and get younger guys that will be coaching lifers there. That doesn't seem like McCarthy. It means we probably have to hope Weaver get the Cardinals job (although will Miami wait for their own DC?), and also probably means Shula gets shut out this coaching cycle.

I feel like it's happened so few times, it's difficult to be certain that isn't just coincidence. The right guy at the time might just have happened to be young.

The name Bobby SLOWik just doesn’t inspire much confidence some reason. Can’t put my finger on it.

It's the 'ik'. Sounds bad.

When in doubt, go with the Jersey guy!

I'd prefer to stick with people who predominantly pump their own gas, thanks.

I have no opinion on Hafley, but I am disappointed we didn't bring McDermott in. I understand Hafley may have been high on the Titans list, so letting him leave may have meant he gets hired elsewhere. But just like in love, I don't believe there's only one person for everyone.

We better try and bring McDermott in for an interview at a minimum.

I genuinely can't understand all the hub-bub about the interception late in the Bills game. Cooks didn't maintain control through going to the ground. If the db didn't come away with it, it would have been incomplete. It was never going to be a catch when he didn't maintain it.

Also Bo Nix apparently out for season with broken bone in his ankle.

Or maybe not?

The logo is hot trash, its an anorexic whale.

It's a better logo than any other one we have had in my opinion. I also don't see how it looks more like a whale than a dolphin.

I'm curious what people think Harbaugh's record will be here next year if hired and what they think McDaniel's record would be in Baltimore if he became the HC there. My guess is that a Harbaugh-led Dolphins team would do a few games worse than a McDaniel-led Ravens team.

If I were a betting person (I am not), I would certainly bet on this being the case too.

"Fineas wrote:

Yes, consistently making the playoffs is a reasonable initial goal, but Harbaugh missed the playoffs 2 of the last 5 seasons and got in a third time at 10-7, which doesn't get you in some years.

What Harbaugh had in Baltimore the last 8 years wasn't "normal". He had a QB who was MVP twice and should have been 3 times. He had arguably the best FO in the league over that span. The results are pretty underwhelming in light of that. I think he was likely a part of the personnel success there and that might be the biggest draw for me, but I'm not sure he's a great game coach. That said, I give him credit for having a vision for Jackson and a willingness to create an offense around him at a time when many coaches wouldn't have.

Maybe my message was less clear than intended. It wasn't meant to be a case for Harbaugh. While I want him, I don't know enough to think there isn't ultimately a better option. I just meant what the goal should be regardless of who our coach or FO consists of. I wasn't even factoring if Harbaugh recently met that goal.

"Fineas wrote:

If we get Harbaugh there's not much to criticize as he has a long and good overall record, but if he couldn't get to a SB in 8 seasons with Lamar Jackson and arguably the best FO in football, is there much reason to think he'll do better here?

I think consistently making the playoffs needs to be your real goal. If you can make the playoffs, you should think you have a chance at the super bowl I think. I totally get concern about what our FO could do relative to the Ravens with Harbaugh. But I would similarly wonder what makes us think we could ever do better with anyone? Sometimes you just have to make your best choice and hope for the best.

As a fan I’m down with his departure as well. But be careful what you ask for Tua.

I mean, why wouldn't/shouldn't he want a fresh start (whether here or otherwise; I know they clarified they meant elsewhere)? I am not going to suggest anything will work out for him, as the odds aren't in his favor, but from his point of view, what benefit is there for him in being careful of what he asks for? Presumably he wants to play, and if he doesn't see a path to that here any more, he isn't really losing anything.

I feel like the criticisms of Stefanski are the mirror image of McDaniel's flaws minus ability to rally the team through adversity. Not sure why anyone would want him over just keeping McDaniel
