Texas A&M OT Luke Joeckel, who came into the combine as the consensus top prospect, for example, ran a rather pedestrian 5.30 in the 40 with an even more disappointing 1.81 10-yard split. In fact, Joeckel was among the OL leaders in only the 3-cone drill. He did look somewhat better in the positional drills, but still didn’t exactly blow anyone away with his footwork or athleticism. Same story for Florida State DE Bjoern Werner, who showed little natural explosion in running a ho-hum 4.83 40 and the finishing back in the pack in all the other drills. The biggest collapse in Indianapolis, though, may have been Texas A&M DE/OLB Damontre Moore, who ran a potentially disastrous 4.95 on his first 40 before pulling up lame on the second. That came after Moore had posted a less than impressive 12 reps in the bench press. No word on whether Moore, who led the SEC in sacks this past season, may have been hurt going into the combine, but teams with early picks will be certainly be paying close attention if Moore is able to go at the Aggies’ pro day on March 8th. http://www.gbnreport.com/combinewrap.html
Imagine if Long leaves and Ireland trades our 12 and 2a and 3a to move up to get Joeckel on Sherman's input. Then uses our 2b, 3b and 2014's 1st to move into the late first for a falling Damontre Moore. All our picks used on two A&M guys. Wont happen, but I'd laugh if it did. Wouldn't fans be thrilled?
I expect Warner is going to slide, looks like an slightly above avg athlete in a position that requires outstanding athleticism.
