I sort of am surprised, but at the same time i`m not. Hopefully Mario gets his attitude straighted out. Im thinking that has alot to do with his problems right now. Hopefully he doesnt turn out to be a waste of talent. In order to avoid that, he`s really got to get his head in the right place.

IMO if he gets put on waivers I dont want him. It would mean he cant get his head screwed on right. Dont need those kinds of players on our team. Sad cause this kid has some potential, would hate to see him throw it out the window.

If Manningham and Tyree both impress then I wouldn't be surprised if they kept both.

Steve Smith won't be going anywhere. He is expected to fill in the shoes of Toomer when he hangs it up. Sinorice Moss and Manningham look to be on the outs. I don't see them cutting Tyree when its between him and the other two.

Giants might wanna find someone tall to replace Toomer and eventually Burress.

Smith's a little short to make up for Toomer. I found the Giants passing successes (outside of a lucky Tyree catch) to be tied with their tall WR's Plax, Toomer, and their TE's. A big reason is because Eli tends to put a little too much air in his throws.

Plaxico is thirty years old, he will play another two or three years so not to big of a worry.

Though he has had some injury issues that could shorten a career. Besides, it's better to start preparing for the future now rather than too late.

True. I don't necessarily think they have to have two big wide receivers. Steve Smith has good hands. He's 5'11 but that's not a big issue for me. They can take a 6'4 + receiver in next years draft.

With Eli Manning overthrowing guys, I think it's a must, strategy-wise. Heck, he even manages to overthrow Burress.

Well, I'm sure the Giants will work on that with him. He won't be overthrowing receivers his whole career, will he? He does have some of Peyton's genes lol.

I dunno, he's been doing that all his career and I'm not sure it'll be fixed anytime soon. Heck even the Tyree one was overthrown a bit.

lol, that's true. Those genes helped him beat the Patriots. We need to isolate those genes and splice them into Beck's/Henne's/whatever's genome.

That'll depend on if his body can take it. He's already an injury-prone player. The mind is willing but the body is weak. Figuratively speaking of course.

I dont like to be the bearer of bad news but it would be Toomer and Moss in trouble not anyone else as far as NYG wrs go and getting released is concerned:

Toomer is 33 and led the league in drops last year. He also showed a very limited ability to get downfield or escape press coverage a year after ACL surgery. I wouldnt be surprised if they tried to phase him out.

Moss and Smith were both 2nd round picks. Moss is the one likely to get dumped unless he steps it up, not Tyree. Moss has been entirely ineffective catching the ball and in the middle of the field when he actually gets on the field. So while Id love Tyree to be a Phin also, I doubt very much that a pro bowl special teams guy/very nice 5th wr goes anywhere.

Mario was one who made the big play at Michigan, but not on a consistent basis. He's no Braylon Edwards, thats for sure.

That's always the main concern. Plus, I'm already surprised how long he's been able to stay with the Giants considering Tom Coughlin's no-nonsense attitude. If I'm the Giants, sometime next year, I'd look for a tall Jordy Nelson type of project to groom for the future.

I think they already have that in Smith. Hes got pretty good hands and is a very good route runner, something he improved nicely throughout the year.

But he doesn't have size. With Manning still putting too much air in his throws, you need to give him big targets. Toomer (6'3) and Burress (6'5) are pretty big ones themselves. When I see Eli tossing balls to either Tyree or Smith, a lot of the time they sail right above them and those are catches Toomer and Burress would've made. Indeed, that Super Bowl catch by Tyree is really common for Manning to throw (what's uncommon was that Tyree actually leapt high and got it. You can't expect that to happen on a consistent basis).
