In the shorter term, if David Garrard wins the start this year, I could see him being the kind of guy who would mentor Tannehill. Garrard has said he doesn't want to play too many more years and I think he would like to be the guy to start the next couple years to usher in the Tannehill era for the Dolphins. He's a really decent guy and I could see him relishing helping to bring Ryan along.

Agree to disagree then. Seen it happen often enough with OL and he's got a strike against him with his inability to stay in shape. I just don't see him holding on and starting this year. I also think folks over value what he did last year. He didn't shat the bed but he wasn't good either.
To be fair to JJ, for all we know, he may have just been recently given the order to drop weight. To be honest, at 340! He would not be overweight, or too overweight, under the previous system.
I think there's quite a bit of a problem taking Omar Kelly's guestimates of John Jerry's weight and running with it. He's kind of dumpy looking, but without a lot of other evidence it's hard to say he's significantly overweight, in relatively poor conditioning, etc. and so on.
