After years of being the red-headed step child within the AFC North, the Cleveland Browns look like they have finally realized what it takes to win in the NFL: Defense. That said, Cleveland managed to lure the best 3-4 coaching mind in the league away from a division foe. Dick LeBeau and his vaunted defense was introduced Friday, as the new Cleveland Browns Head Coach. Joining him and helping to coordinate the defense is former Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker Coach and up and comer, Keith Butler. The two teamed up in Pittsburgh for the league's best defense last year and will look to achieve that once again.

On the offensive side of the ball, Cleveland has hired former Indianapolis offensive guru, Tom Moore. LeBeau will be able to hand the reigns over to Moore to develop a potent and well rounded attack. Between Moore and LeBeau, the Browns have one of the most experienced staffs in the league.

CLEVELAND (ESPN) — In a shocking development, the New York Jets have poached Cleveland Browns GM Tractor Traylor. The Jets moved quicker than expected to fill the vacancy left by the abrupt resignation of General Manager Big E, currently under investigation by the league office and the US Department of Justice for the sale and distribution of Big E’s Herpes Cream to Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, a violation of the NFL’s rules on banned substances and several federal narcotics laws. Big E and Sanchez have declined comment to date.

Browns team president Mike Holmgren has hired Desides to succeed Traylor as General Manager. In a statement released to ESPN, Holmgren describes the new hire: “While Tractor’s departure is a blow to our franchise, I feel confident in Desides’ ability to continue turning things around. The good people of Cleveland no longer have to focus on Dan Gilbert and his crazy font selection. The Browns are in good hands, and we look forward to a return to the playoffs in the forthcoming season.”

Desides was not available for comment at press time. Observers expect the Browns to convene a press conference in the near future.

This reminds me of the Art Modell moving the franchise situation for some reason.
