I can’t believe how lucky we were with injuries this year. Yes, Tua missed several games (though he claimed he could play and Flo sat him anyway, but that’s another story for another day) and Will Fuller pretty much missed the entire season. But other than that, none of our starters or even backups were lost for the season.

I can’t remember a season with such good injury luck and we STILL missed the playoffs. What a wasted season.

Well the starting quarterback missing essentially four games and then losing all of them is a big deal.

Just say they split those games it's a very different season.

Yeah, I have to agree. Given how poorly Brissett played, the injury to Tua was significant.

Overall it was a "good" injury year, but we had more guys with issues than that. Dieter was gone for most of the season. Parker missed a number of games. Howard and Jones had some problems but played earlier in the year.

I disagree. Usually teams lose multiple starters for the season. We didn’t.

I agree with you, but I'd suggest Tua did pretty well with the mental reps, though. Had he continued being squashed like a bug on a windshield, he may not have figured out how to survive. It's possible we could have lost those four games - and more - had he stayed on the field. Worse yet, if he stayed active, his ribs and hand may remained a problem all season.

We should factor in games lost due to players being in protocol when we talk about injuries, IMO. Fuller, Wilson and Williams all missed crucial time to injury. And Hurns was out for the whole season. We started with a very crowded WR room and thanks to injury, ended with Waddle as WR1, Parker as WR2, and a scramble of folks backing them up.

We were substantially impacted by injuries and COVID.

Jones and Howard were banged up for part of the season. That changes our defense pretty substantially. Raekwon Davis also missed substantial time and our run D was a lot better after he got back. Pretty sure Dieter missed a majority of the season as well. Not to mention Parker being banged up, which is business as usual for him.

I questioned the severity of his injuries during the season. He looked fine on the sidelines. And, with the stories of him playing golf during the injuries, and the rift between him and Flores just confirmed it for me.

I’m not saying we were UNINJURED.

Most teams every year lose multiple players for the entire season. We didn’t. Super lucky.
