My daughter and I went to the Pro Bowl practice today at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World and I have a few pics I thought I would share. I apologize in advance if they aren't the best. I took them with my phone camera. Here is X walking around the field with Aikens. We were trying like crazy to get him to come over but I think the Dolphin media folks wouldn't let him. Needless to say that is why we went and are a little disappointed that we missed out. I am trying to keep this post Dolphins related, but it was really hard to get some good pictures of X. Here is a cool banner of X on the main walkway. I was tempted to try and reach up and grab that bad boy down. That would look nice in my living room right next to the big screen TV. I am pretty sure my wife wouldn't mind if I took that big picture of her Mom down and put this up instead. She has always encouraged me to go all out when it comes to things I am passionate about. Distant shot of X's Banner, etc. The defensive line practiced down where we were along the fence. Here is TJ Watt grabbing a one handed interception. I can't remember...who is it that we took instead of TJ Watt? He's at the Pro Bowl, right? I don't know her name, but she is a sideline reporter for the NFL games. I think she is pretty so I took her picture. Last, but not least this is Jamal Adams of the Jets. Yes, the ****ing jets. It pains me but I am going to put this up here because I want to give him major credit. He was the ONLY guy who spent any time with the fans. He worked his way around the fence and was willing to spend major time with the kids. In fact, somebody was trying to get him to leave to go do an interview with the reporter lady above, and he told them politely that he was here for the kids and fans and he was going to spend time with them. After a bit, he realized they weren't going away so he went up and did his interview and came right back down to us. He was very polite to everyone and when he got around earshot to me, I patted him on the shoulder and told him this is what it is all about and thank you for taking the time with everyone and making a big difference in our experience. He was very polite back, and shook my hand and said thank you to me, too. The dude is all class!
You touched a jester?!? Better get a shot, or a Z Pac or something. What did it feel like? Was it cold? And slimy? Or wet and sticky? Way cool you got to experience it with your daughter. Neither one of mine gives a ish about football.
LOL! I know, right? Seriously, he's a good dude. He didn't hold it against us because we were Dolphin fans. He was all muscle, too. I mean, I could have been patting a slab of granite for all that it mattered. As for my daughter. I really appreciate the time we have together. She is my youngest, of 3, and 18. She is going to college and in a couple of years, or sooner, won't be living at home. On game day, when the Dolphins aren't on TV, we hit the sports bar so we can watch it. She was the one to ask me if I wanted to go. I haven't really been following it, and I didn't realize it was in town. I was like hell yeah! Who knows how many more opportunities like this will come along where I get time to spend with her.
That's awesome- glad you got to go! At first I was thinking you were in Hawaii and it made me jealous.....then I remembered it's back in Orlando. The league is switching it up because players bring their families to Hawaii and treat it as a vacation, but to me it's like "Duh...it's a free trip to Hawaii!" Isn't that the whole point? LOL Nobody really cares about the football anyway.
LOL! That is so true. They were just going through the motions. What's funny, is that one of the things I enjoyed the most while waiting for the Pros to come out is seeing their kids play football. They were in the restricted section, so they were family of those in the NFL in some capacity. A couple of kids were really good. Although they were anywhere from what I would guess to be about 9 - 12 years of age, they were throwing around an NFL regulation football. I was thinking to myself that there is no way I could throw that ball as far and as good as them. They were entertaining and fun! I think they liked showing off for the crowd, but out of respect, I didn't take any pictures of them.
