It feels like this year, moreso than most others, no one really has a good idea of how the draft is going to fall. I think that there's likely going to be a lot of trading and moving around.
Once the QB evals start rolling in, things may settle down. Perusing some of the bigger early mocks out there though, and it seems like a top 4-5 has quickly coalesced with nearly every single one of them featuring the following 5 in some order: Nick Bosa Quinnen Williams Josh Allen Rashan Gary Devin White Of that bunch, Gary surprises me. Caught some UM football back when he was actually playing and he was ... just alright. Never really showed off his purported athleticism. Never really just attacked and dominated or made linemen look bad. I get that his measureables are off the charts, but like compare his tape to Bosa and it's not close. He, like Bosa, also sat a large part of the season, purportedly for an injury. Frankly though, I don't really dock these guys for that kind of stuff. If you have elite talent and are getting Rd. 1 grades? Skip the unpaid college ball my dudes.
I definitely don't think Devin White is a top-5 pick. I expect some of these mock drafts to change obviously. Gary is so enticing because of how he moves at his size, and he's flexible positionally. Teach him some more pass rush and he could be incredible.
Take the defensive talent and build a defense that can beat on Brady, Darnold and Allen the 6 (or more) games we play them.
