Pick the players you would be happy about the Dolphins drafting in April. Choose all of them or none. We'll compare the results of the poll after the draft.

I would not draft Spikes with the 12th pick. He might even be there at 43.

McClain, Bryant, Hughes, Berry and I shouldve included Earl Thomas.
    Uhmmmmm....somebody seriously excluded Eric Berry?
What about Suh? I imagine we have as good a chance at Berry as we do Suh

Any one of these guys will make a good first round: McClain, Bryant, Berry, and Spiller.

I have Berry as the hands down first choice. After that Bryant is the hands down second choice.

Then there's a group that includes McClain, Thomas, Spiller, Hernandez and Odrick.

Doubtful. However I can imagine a scenario where Eric Berry could slide to 12. He would have to get past the Lions, Bucs, Chiefs, and Raiders.

    1. Rams - Sam Bradford
    2. Lions - Ndamukong Suh
    3. Bucs - Gerald McCoy
    4. Redskins - Jimmy Clausen
    5. Chiefs - Russell Okung
    6. Seahawks - CJ Spiller
    7. Browns - Carlos Dunlap
    8. Raiders - Trent Williams
    9. Bills - Anthony Davis
    10. Broncos - Rolando McClain
    11. Jaguars - Derrick Morgan
    12. Dolphins - Eric Berry

From everything I've heard, the Lions are ready to take a defensive tackle. They are expecting it to be McCoy.

You and I both know there is zero chance of that happening, I mean, I would be as happy as I have ever been ever.
It would be the antithesis I felt when we took Ginn with Pat Willis still on the board

Spikes could go as high as 15 to the Giants depending on what happens with Antonio Pierce. If they pass on him I could see him sliding all the way to the 2nd round.

If Steve Spagnuolo wants to remain a head coach in the NFL he needs to find his QB. If I was him I would not be content with Marc Bulger, Kyle Boller, or Keith Null. If they don't draft Bradford then Clausen could be the pick. The Lions already have Matthew Stafford. They would sprint up to the podium to draft Suh.

Honestly if Bradford somehow slid to 12 I'm not 100% positive the Dolphins would pass on him. He is not a senior so he is not going to get a lot of attention the week between the Shrine game and the Senior Bowl. However once the Combine rolls around we will hear a lot more about Sam Bradford. Especially on his pro day.

Probably. I do know there is zero chance of Suh getting past the Lions which is why I did not list him.

However there are a handful of scenarios where Berry could slide. Left tackles are a rare commodity so Okung, Davis, Williams, and Bulaga all have a viable chance of being drafted before Berry. Also you always have to give a potential franchise QB strong consideration so its not inconceivable that Bradford and Clausen get drafted ahead of Berry. Suh and McCoy will likely go ahead of him. That is eight players right there.

Then you have to consider team needs and players like Joe Haden, Dez Bryant, Derrick Morgan, Jason Pierre-Paul, CJ Spiller, Taylor Mays, Earl Thomas, and Rolando McClain. Pete Carroll is the new coach at Seattle. What if he takes Taylor Mays instead of Eric Berry? Its possible.

The Rams and the Lions are not drafting Berry. The Bucs might but they do already have Tanard Jackson. The Redskins already have LaRon Landry. The Jags already have Reggie Nelson. The Bills already have Donte Whitner and they still need a left tackle after trading Jason Peters to the Eagles.

The leaves the Chiefs, Seahawks, and Raiders who all need a left tackle. Plus the Browns who also need a QB, running back, defensive end, and inside linebacker. It would be hard to imagine Berry getting past the Broncos but they also need a QB or they might decide to live with Brian Dawkins for another year and address another need.

Unlikely as it seems you have to allow for the possibility of Berry sliding to 12.

IMO there is ZERO chance that we take a QB in the first round. I would be thoroughly upset and disappointed. Though I don't doubt we draft one somewhere down the line in the draft.

Berry, McClain, Thomas, Dan Williams, CJ Spiller.
    In that order.

I don't think Dez Bryant is a #1 WR. I think he can be a very good #2, but just don't see a #1. I don't like using a high first on a rush OLB. Very hard to see if they will transition to the NFL, I wouldn't touch them with the #12 overall.

    Voted.

Voted for several, but McClain is who I really want (pretty much regardless of who else is still on the board). But, that is subject to change depending on what I see between now and draft day. Thing is, I got a hunch he won't last to #12. I bet he ends up in Denver.

    From that list;

    McClain (#12)
    Bryant (#12)
    Spiller (#12)
    Tate (trade down)
    Thomas (trade down)

Didn't choose Berry because I don't view him as a realistic option.

Looks like Rolando McClain is the favorite followed closely by Dez Bryant, Eric Berry, Earl Thomas, and CJ Spiller. At least one of those guys should still be on the board when we pick. If not there's always Derrick Morgan, Jason Pierre-Paul, or Jerry Hughes.

Lukewarm response to Dan Williams, Jared Odrick, and Golden Tate. Almost nobody wants Brian Price, Sam Bradford, or Sergio Kindle.

Before I start the thread for 2nd round favorites let me get some input on which names I should include in the poll. Here is who I would list.

    Arrelious Benn
    Brandon LaFell
    Demaryius Thomas
    Terrence Cody
    Lamarr Houston
    Morgan Burnett
    Sergio Kindle
    Mardy Gilyard
    Jeremy Williams
    Sean Weatherspoon
    Rennie Curran

Did I leave anybody out? Who should I add? Who should not be on the list?

Since you left Spikes off of last list I would expect him here. Golden Tate, Jason Worlids, Aaron Hernandez, and Gresham.

Walsh brought in Young when he already had Montana. The Chargers drafted Rivers when they already had Brees. I would not put money on the Dolphins drafting Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen but I guarantee you Jeff Ireland is doing due diligence on them.

    Absolutely. Thanks. :knucks:

I'm telling you right now Golden Tate is not making it out of the 1st round. No way. No how. Gresham might. I'll list him. Worilds and Hernandez should both still be on the board. I'll list them if I have room.

Combine should tell us alot about Tate and Benn. The board loves Worilds and so does Boom so I think he deserves the nod. Thanks for making polls.

I wouldn't forget that KC just hired Weis as their OC. He has been grooming Clausen as a QB for 5 years now. I could see him wanting Clausen as his QB. He wouldn't have a huge learning curve ansd would already know the calls.
