Well after having 2 different experts look at it and talking to sony, my ps3 is shot...looks like I have a dvd/blueray player for the living room now. Unless someone here wants to buy it?

That's a fancy *** DVD player LOL. It also plays music, pictures, and videos (properly encoded :( ) from your network... So that's a plus.

If you have your PS3 on the same home network as your PC (which has videos, music, and pics on it) you can run PS3 Media Server and stream it all to the TV

Why did Sony and the two experts say it was shot?

It still sounds like a Blu-Ray drive/laser problem to me...if everything works but it just doesn't play Blu-Ray discs it's the same problem I had before I replaced the laser.

Of course I am not an expert I'm just curious about what Sony and the others are saying.

They basically said it was something with the hardware and the Error 80010514 means that. it reads the game/bluray for a good 20 minutes or so, then stops. they said if it was the laser it would shouldn't read it at all..

Sucks if it is the hardware in some way but I speak the truth when I say my PS3 played CDs and DVDs but refused to read Blu-Ray discs. I've also heard other people say this. So I know personally it can be a laser problem still but like I said they are the experts.

Heck man I'd fix it for you if you'd be willing to pay for the shipping and any part's cost...which if I tried the laser would be around $50 and if it didn't work they guy I use gives refunds. So basically I'd fix it for free because I hate to see anyone pay $400 and it be useless. Of course you'd have to trust me enough to do it and not steal your PS3 and fixing it still may not work and you'd lose out on shopping costs.

Just thought I'd offer though.
