I read that Denver would be willing to trade Marshall for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Considering that Nolan came from Denver I think we have a great inside track on what was the problem between Marshall and the Broncos and if Nolan approves I wouldn't be opposed to making this trade.

Essentially I would be thinking we trade a second round pick and maybe a player. Then, if McClain is off the board when we pick at #12 I would like to trade down and pick up Sergio Kindle or Spikes and pick up a 2nd round pick to replace the one we surrender to Denver in the trade.

If we pick up Kindle I would expect us to go after Dansby in FA. I think this would take care of multiple needs and put us in a very strong position for the remainder of the draft (rounds 2-7).

I am still onboard with the Ted Ginn and a 2nd round pick for Brandon Marshall. We won't get that lucky though.

    But, a 3rd? LOL...yeah, right. Fairytale!!!

We'd have to give up at least a 2nd and either a low round pick or a player.

Well I wouldn't mind trading them T.Ginn and J.Porter along with a third rounder for Marshall. In my opinion both these players can be replaced and would then open the space to sign Marshall and possibly another FA that could really help us.

I don't think Marshall will be traded for anything higher than a 2nd round pick, but you may be able to strip him away if you put together a decent enough package along with third round pick. Marshall will not be Denver next year and I would love to see him come to Miami. Lets get Henne some help and finally bring in that #1 receiver we have been looking for.

I don't wanna trade away any picks, especially for a player with his off the field issues. Sorry, but I'd rather mine the draft or FA for a true #1 WR, and/or develop what we got. Hell, I still wanna see the guy we invested a 3rd round pick in last year make the playing field one of these days.

Keep all picks and rebuild through the draft. That's the way you do it IMHO.

    Dude...Brandon Marshal has 3 straight 100 catch+ seasons...in 3 years in the NFL...

Who do you think we could get in the draft that could equal or surpass that production?

if all it take to get Marshall is a 3rd round pick it would be Stupid IMO not to get him he is better then any WR we could get in the third round he is maybe the #3 WR in the NFL behind Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald

I would love to grab Marshall. Despite his off the field issues, he is exactly the kind of on the field player we need. I think we should try to keep Ted here if possible though. His speed is dangerous and with a player like Marshall to take the attention off him, he will have a better opportunity to create big plays for us. Even using his speed as a decoy does help our offense open things up underneath.

That said, I would like to see some kind of incentive laden contract for Ginn. I want him to be more aggressive fighting for yards and we certainly cannot ignore that he does have natural ability in the return game. Without some of those phantom flags he has seen in his short career, he would have quite the impressive resume when it comes to return TDs in 3 seasons.

Bringing in a guy like Marshall would be a great addition to our role playing WRs.

Quoting myself again. People just cant say "I read some where". If this was read some where please provide a link. If it was read on some random forum that some poster somewhere says this is so then lets stop the speculation right here. If this came from a creditable web site then once again I ask please post the link.

While im 100% in support of this trade, denver would have to be ran by 3 year olds in order to even consider this deal.

Here's an interesting article on the subject suggesting they would take our 2nd rounder and Ginn or Wake.

I don't have enough posts to put in a URL so you'll have to do it manually.

Marshall for a 3rd is epic fail on Denver's part which I doubt since they got a kings ransom for shipping Cutler & esp the way he performed this year. With that said. Does Denver get the bad end for trading Marshall for a 3rd or "Deers on headlights" Feely for a 2nd by our beloved Dolphins?

I'm thinking Marshall for a 3rd is bad but the Feely trade did start a trend on wasting 2nd'rs on QB's for us. I believe Henne is a keeper for us. Hopefully, PW is the last QB we blow a 2nd for a long time. Call me evil but I'm hoping we blow a 2nd on Tebow so we can have 4 WC options in the backfield. I kid. HAHAHAHA

Stats are great, but this ain't fantasy football. There's more to it than how many catches a guy's made in the past. Attitude, effort, character, and cost (i.e., salary) all come into play as far as I am concerned. And, if these reports are true, you gotta ask yourself why is Denver so eager to get rid of him (especially given his skill set)? Dude.

First, it's not just about what WR you could get in the third round, it's about what player you could get. I just value draft picks (especially early rounders) very highly. And, IMO you rebuild through the draft. Not taking on someone else's cast offs. Also, you don't know (none of us do) whether or not you could get a better receiver anywhere in the draft. But, it is possible. Marshall is very good, but he can't walk on water.

Having said all that, and if in fact Marshall could be had for a third alone, then as a GM I'd have to strongly reconsider my philosophy. But, first I'd have to be convinced that his head and heart was into football and the Miami Dolphins. I'd also have to know that I could sign him to a reasonable contract. One that would be incentive laden, and have penalty clauses for any conduct that is unbecoming of an NFL and Miami Dolphins representative. If after interviewing him I felt it was worth the reward, then yeah...I'd take the risk for a 3rd.

    JMHO...

The timing is wrong. Dansby will most likely be signed long before the draft happens. This will impact our approach to the draft whether we sign him or not.

If we can trade a 2nd or 3rd for Marshall (preferably a 3rd obviously in this scenario), that'll definitely open up some other possibilities in the draft. Even moreso if we sign Dansby too.

Look, bottom line is we need a WR that can produce. Odds are any WR we get that's dropped down to the second or third round is not going to be of Brandon Marshall's Caliber.

Give them the second or the third, scratch WR off the board, and dedicate the first two picks we get to D.

That would be a pretty successful draft if you ask me

Uh, for a 24 year old receiver already with three straight 100 catch / 1000 yard seasons? I'd give a second AND a third or fourth. Getting a player like this without giving up your first round pick... do it at all costs.

Forget about that diva receiva garbage, he just wants to be paid. Pay him and watch Henne throw to him in the regular season, playoffs, and Pro Bowl.

I would jump on that trade in a second, I don't see it though..you are talking a guy who is easily top 5 in the position, a true stud.....for just a 2nd or a 3rd??? And if they do that, you could still draft McClain, or even move down a couple and grab a draft pick back to replace the one you lost with Marshall....it would be amazing...

I can only imagine what Sparano would do if Marshall pulled the same stunts he pulled in Denver.

Seriously, imagine if he Marshall just started punting balls in practice, trying to be a disruption. Or if in the last week of the season, fighting for a playoff spot, he showed up 30 minutes late to rehab, then questioned Sparano's toughness for calling him out about it.

I'd take his 100 catches and bad attitude over our Ted Ginn and family all day. At some point you've got to set your feelings aside and put together a winning team. We took Joey Porter and his issues and he's not half the player Marshall is.

I'd prefer to send them Camarillo than Ginn b/c I think it gives us a more balanced WR corp. But either way that trade should be something we jump at.

This is the site that I found the trade information if it makes you happy LandShark. I DON'T POST THINGS BASED ON WHAT I READ IN FAN FORUMS OR WHAT NOT AS YOU HAVE ACCUSED ME OF. This should serve as proof not to doubt me or at least to gain a little respect (seeing as I am a NEW member).

I understand you need a link to verify things so here you have it. This is a Denver post reporter shooting out trade scenarios for Brandon Marshall and T.Ginn plus a 2nd round pick for Marshall is specifically listed towards the bottom of the article.

I wouldn't see this as a bad move on Miami's part or even throwing in Porter if Possible and lowering the pick to a third rounder if they go for it.

According to the Denver Post, Brandon Marshall is expected to be traded shortly after NFL free agency opens on March 5.

The Broncos' leverage is somewhat damaged after a Week 17 blowout between Marshall and coach Josh McDaniels. Throw in Marshall's major character concerns, and the team will have trouble getting anywhere close to full value for their restricted free agent. Marshall isn't talking during this week's Pro Bowl practices, saying he's "had enough publicity." Smart.
