Man, Tim Ryan is discussing Brandon Graham on QAM and they expect him to put up 35+ reps and run a 4.5, a Senior Note..sort of. They were speaking about Graham running Javon Ringer down from behind. I'm beginning to like him, I've also heard that Miek Mayock feels not a single Qb is worth a #1 pick this year, that means those passrushers will go early.
i agree with mayock on the QBs although Claussen is borderline with me. i like graham though he's getting bashed a bit lately by some. i think the patriots might grab him
i think its hard not to like JT. I think JT is a football player's football player. I think Parcells respects that although at his age I could see Parcells letting him go. JT is probably brought back but I wouldnt be surprised if he's gone
If he can play ILB we snag him in a second, that versatility is what makes him attractive, Graham at ILB or SOLB and Wake at the Wolb would be heck of a combination.
Maybe, quality depth that is productive is hard to find, especially with JT's hometown discount, so we'll see. At this point, nothing surprises me Adamp, to me JT is probably our most versatile player, Wlb, Slb, De, Porter can't do that for us.
Iupati is going to be a hell of a Guard but he needs a lot of work before he is moved out to LT. i would also love to see Rolle in a Fins Uniform next season i really like the guy and he has the athlitic ablity to be very good
While I tend to agree and believe none are first round worthy but I'm also betting at least three will come off the board before the second round. Its no different than the last two years of qb prospects, not saying that Ryan, Flecco, Sanchez, Stafford, and others won't become good qb's they are no where in the same class of the Peyton Mannings, Dan Marino's, or even Tom Bradys of this world imvho

good to see geno atkins and jeff owens playing well. i have been a fan of both since early this season
Wasn't quite sure where to post this, so sorry if I chose the wrong thread. But, after watching some of the Senior Bowl practices, and listening to Mayock and Lombardi and the rest on NFLN, here's what I'm wondering... What if we got McClain in the first, one of either Weatherspoon, Hughes, Kindle or Spikes in the second, Cooper in the third, and Rolle in the fourth? Do y'all think that's even possible? And, would y'all be as happy with that as I think I would be?
I think we end up taking Jimmie Graham from the U farily early, I half expect that we surprise everyone and go offense heavy this draft. Wake at the weakside, Merling/Johnston/JT/Moses on the strongside, and a depth player like Lang/Sheffield/Lane to develop.
possible but unlikely. kindle, hughes and weatherspoon are probably all gone but its not out of the realm of possibility that one of them might slip
I would love for us to get McClain and Spikes and that might be possible though unlikely. Not sure about Cooper but no way does Rolle make it to 4. He keeps generating the buzz and has a good combine he'll go not later than the second. That said if he has a good combine I wouldn't mind him in the 2nd round.
http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/features/column.aspx?sport=NFL&columnid=203&articleid=34654 When someone compares Geno Atkins to Warren Sapp, even a little bit, I'm sure that Yankee loving Lb craving Adamp would be interested in it...
Don't take this the wrong way Padre, but I hope you're wrong. IMVHO we need to focus on defensive players early and often. BTW, and not being at all familiar with Graham, I just read that he has 17 career receptions? Is that true? If so, and to this laymen, that's gotta be a huge concern...no? I mean, what's the story with this guy...did he only play one season, or what?
1yr part time player at Miami, he was a Basketball player before that, and he only caught a relative few passes but if you watched the games about half his catches were of the circus varity.
Thanks for filling me in Padre. Now, lemmie ask you...is that enough (to base an accurate assessment on)? I mean, I'm just curious what your thoughts are (or, anyone else's). To me, I'd be vary wary of a guy like that. Late round flyer? Maybe. But, a "fairly early" pick (i.e., anything higher than a 4th lets say) would scare me. JMHO.
Anybody know if the Coaching staff have been present at the North practices? I thought it was against the rules for the other team to watch each others practices. But then I thought maybe they make an exception because it's an exhibition and for scouting purposes. But then again they could be practicing at the same time(I'm not sure). I hoping they take a liking to Weatherspoon or Graham (Brandon).
One thing to keep in mind about the Draft is that it is all based on "projection" whatever a player did in college means -0-, it is how a team's GM feels they will play in the NFL. By that metric, sure, Gresham missed the 09 season, still carries a first rd pick grade.
Thanks again Padre. And, I hear what you're sayin'. But, and with all due respect, and at the risk of sounding like I"m badgering you (I swear, I'm not trying to), lemmie ask you this...I once heard Parcells had a certain draft philosophy (at least as it relates to QB's). There was certain criteria they had to meet. Amongst that criteria was the fact they had to be a senior with at least three years starting experience. So, I guess where I'm going with this is...do you think this FO is going to really consider this Graham fella (or, anyone else), at least in the first few rounds, with only one year experience playing college football?
A Sr with 25 wins and a three year starter with a 60% or better completion percentage. As for B Graham, sure, Fasano had 80 catches in his career at ND, and was not a starter every year he was there and Tuna/Jones/Ireland took him in Rd #2 with pick #53. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Fasano And Graham is bigger, faster, and has more upside.
OK, OK, OK...you win. But, we shall see. BTW, and as I haven't even seen what this kid has to offer, maybe I should be hoping you're right? I'm all for having a playmaker at the TE position. Rock on Padre!
not sure I would go that far but he's a ball of fury. Its funny, but they even tried him out at LB. Unfortunately the report was that he looked like a DT playing LB
