Just a little mock I put together. 1. Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama - Simply put, our defense wasn't getting it done. A good chunk of the reason? Are linebacking corps. Rolando McClain can come in and improve the defense, becoming a force on the inside. 2. Jimmy Graham, TE, Miami (FL) - This guy is probably one of the most interesting prospects. This man has only played one year of football at "The U", literally not playing football since the freshman year of high school before that point. However, he has quite a few things going for him. He has size (6'8", 260 lbs), ball skils, is rather quick, (4.65 in the 40 yard dash), and gives a great effort as a blocker, actually getting the better of O'Brien "12 Sacks on the season" Schofield on more than one occassion in the . He is very raw, but if delevoped right.... 3. Jerry Hughes, DE/OLB, TCU - With the addition of Cameron, a lot of people believe that our pass rush would be deadly. That to is to expected when you have two established pass rushers in Jason Taylor and Joey Porter, and a player from the CFL that put up a rediculously large amount of sacks. However, that just didn't turn out to be the case (though it was through no fault of Wake, who put up great numbers and caused many [uncalled] holds from offensive tackles). Jerry Hughes is a great pash rusher, tallying up 26.5 sacks in two years. 4. Taylor Price, WR, Ohio - I know I'm going to get dogged for waiting this long to pick a wide receiver, but quite frankly, the defense needed more attention. With that said, we have Taylor Price, wide receiver out of Ohio. At first, one person would look at his stats and scoff. But consider the following: Ohio mostly moves the ball on the ground. And he averaged around 14 yards per catch his last three years. Plus, he's very fast, clocking in the middle 4.3's in the 40 yard dash. 6a. Cam Thomas, DT/NT, NC - Well, people wanted another nose tackle. He definitely as the size for it. But can he be a consistent run-stopper for us? 6b. Rusty Smith, QB, FAU - I may be a little biased, since I'm an Owls fan. But Smith has an arm more than strong enough to make all of the throws and has a lot of experience playing in the Pro-Style offense. 6c. Austen Lane, DE, Murray State - Lane had a great couple of years. Granted it was on the Division 1-AA (FCS), but putting together 23 sacks over two season is still pretty impressive. He also has great size (6'7" 270lbs) and runs a 4.60 in the 40. 7a. Ryan Moya, FB, UCLA - No, I'm not picking this guy to replace Lousaka Polite. Rather, I believe Moya could be a great H-Back for us. And on multiple occasions, we've seen what an H-Back can do for an offense (ask Chris Cooley). 7b. Adrian Tracy, DE, William & Mary - Just like Lane, he had a productive last two years at a small school. He also has good size and speed, measuring at 6'4", 243lbs, and runs a 4.7 forty.
Price got a top 60 grade from the Bucs, Panthers and Ravens and he's been doing pretty well at the Senior Bowl so he's probably going to go higher. I believe Austen Lane has a third round grade on him? Fourth? IMO, Jerry Hughes won't escape the top 45 picks.
if we take graham in the second i will be pissed he might be good but he isnt worth a second round pick i would rather have ed dickson or aaron hernandez. and there is no way that Jerry hughes get out of the second round. if you move graham to the 4th and move Hughes to the second and Price to the third i can see it happening
