It's the block shedding that is the issue. He needs to be a 3 down LB, not a 3rd down LB. I haven't watched enough of his career to know if he can be a 3 down LB in a 3-4.

I just finished watching it, I tend to record a lot of TV on DVR so I do not have to watch the ads.

One thing that really stood out to me was our (the South team) poor play calling. 3 screen plays by Tebow alone. At the end of the game with the South behind 31-13 and everyone knowing we would pass we ran play-action fakes over and over. It reminded me a lot of this year with us trying to make comebacks late in games. Chad Henne play after play having to do a play-action that no one on the defense respected before he was allowed to set up and pass.

No deep pass attempts until the very last few minutes. Short outs over and over. Were we trying to win the game?

This looked like Henning football but without the good running game he depends on.

Looked to me like they were more worried about trying players out in a position they would be used should we draft them rather than actually trying to win the game. For instance, Jimmy Graham wasn't used often in the passing game outside of the 4th quarter, but he got a good amount of work blocking. We all know what he can do in the passing game, seemed to me Sparano really wanted to see how his blocking was before hopefully drafting him.

Or maybe Sparano was trying to make them look bad, thus changing their value in the draft and making them slide down

Well, since he was the talk of the Senior Bowl all week leading up to it, and since he has been the topic of conversation in here, let me ask y'all...do you think that Mr. Tebow's stock may have taken a bit of a hit yesterday?

Of what I saw (which, admittedly wasn't the whole game) I thought he struggled a bit. I don't think he played bad necessarily, but he looked an awful lot like a kid playing under a lot of pressure (i.e., scrutiny). Think the pressure may have gotten to him a bit. Wonder if he'll do the combine next?

Of the players I saw yesterday, the ones that stood out to me were Weatherspoon, Graham, Mays and Williams. I think this could be a really good draft, especially for defensive players. Hope we get a few that become key players for years to come.

I'm really excited about the prospect of a few guys falling into our laps with our first two picks. At #12, I think things are a bit more predictable. Berry won't make it. But I wouldn't be surprised if one of McClain, Bryant, or Pierre-Paul are there. At #43 is where things really start to get interesting though. We'll have a choice among several receivers, but we could also be looking at a few defensive studs that have fallen out of the 1st. I don't think it's crazy to think that one of the following guys could be available when we select in the 2nd:

    Brandon Graham
    Jared Odrick
    Earl Thomas
    Terrence Cody
    Brandon Spikes
    Jerry Hughes
    Jason Worilds

The nice thing is that, no matter who might fall, there's a lot of value at positions of need for us. On the offensive side of the ball, it's entirely possible that Jermaine Gresham slips out of the 1st as well.

That was my other thought. For instance the play action fakes could be to see if the "spread" QBs can take a snap from center and fake a hand off before trying to pass.

Another reason for the 10 yard outs which is considered one the hardest pass to complete in the NFL.

Or as the next poster said, we were trying to hide the good players, LOL.

First I would say that Tim Tebow did have Strep throat which I tend to get every 2-3 years or so and it lays me out for several days. I had it a few months ago and I had to have bags of ice on my head to keep my fever down.

I was surprised that he was never asked to throw downfield which is his thing but again I think they wanted to see him do things he is not known for. And Riley Cooper who was the best WR in practice only had a few balls thrown his way and none downfield.

I do wish they had allowed Tebow to try to score at the end of the game instead of running play-action fakes and throwing short passes but I guess the idea is to take this players out of their comfort zone.

If we got McClain in the first, and somehow managed to get Hughes or Weatherspoon in the second, I think I'd drive down to Miami to thank Parcells personally.
