Well I just logged into Xbox Live, saw this, and immediately started downloading it. I see that its a Gold Exclusive so I guess it'll be on the PS3 in a week (I have heard February 4th but haven't checked on that) so I am actually going to do double duty with both demos.

I'm familiar with the Battlefield games on PS3 so I guess the controls will take some getting used to and I will still get the game for the PS3 but I am psyched to finally have the demo in my hands. The Beta was great for the PS3 and they made several changes to the demo and as soon as it'd done downloading I can't wait to try it out.

This is the FPS I've been waiting for and if anyone sees me on either the 360 or later the PS3 playing this jump in.

Just want to give everyone a head's up and maybe give folks a break for their MW2 addiction. :D

Let me say this...the demo is not as fun or as good as the Beta was.

The Beta overall had better graphics and had a bigger map. However from being in the Beta I can see what they are doing with this demo. They are mostly working on getting the graphics refined. The Beta was very bright and the textures were crisp and looked great. In the demo the colors have been fixed but for some reason the textures looked blurry and the overall graphics weren't as sharp. My thinking is, of now, that this 360 demo is running off the same things graphic wise that the just released PC Beta is (we all know the similarities of the PC and 360). I'm curious to see how the PS3 demo looks next week to see if I am on to something here. They've also fixed a lot of controls problems and menu glitches from the Beta....Dice has really worked hard at improving the game itself which is great to see.

Either way the bigger the map the better things shine and I am confident the finished game is going to show things this demo isn't...as I said the Beta was better than the demo. Of course yes this is the same Battlefield with some extras thrown in. When the finished game is released I think it's going to be great.

Playing this demo did 2 things to me.......

Makes me less likely to buy the actual game....

    &

Makes me want to reinstall 1942 & BF2 for some real battlefield action.

Very disappointed. Maybe Im just not a big BF guy for consoles, I did enjoy the XBL 1943...but its low price did affect my opinion on that.

I like BF:BC a lot for single player (never played MP), but I will probably get BF:BC2 when it is the same price as I got the 1st one for ($20).

I'm telling you guys the demo isn't as impressive as the Beta was...nowhere near in fact. However that could be a bad thing.

that's funny, I have 1.2 also. Too much Rock Band songs, Halo saves and arcade games. Also I have 6 gigs of CoD6 since I scratched my disc and the only way it plays now is from the hard drive.

If you order BF:BC2 from amazon (it's 56.99 right now) you get a $20 credit towards future game (like FFXIII perhaps, or whatever you want). Pretty good deal.

That is why I love Amazon.

For us already getting the game this is free money and even better it is the LE. With the money I am getting on this and other games I will essentially get a free game down the line.

Amazon is usually the cheapest place for new games (if only by like $3), but if you're like me and don't have to pay sales tax (until tax season that is), it saves another $5-6.

Plus I get 20% off on top of the $20 credit so it is real nice.

I only can't get release date delivery because of the discount, but I'll sacrifice 2 days later for $10-12 off.

I'm assuming that is a some sort of deal Amazon was running I missed out on again. :pity:

Either way I am one of the people who saves about $5-6 because of no sales tax and plus with the free Amazon Prime account I am enjoying I always get free 2 day shipping (which doesn't matter in the this case really). You add up free sales tax and free 2 day shipping and that tells us why Amazon is so awesome.

Only thing I sort of dislike is that with pre-orders you don't get the game credit until after it ships. So although I will get about $50 in game credits with some of the games I am pre-ordering I won't be able to apply them until my latest released game which appears may be "Alan Wake" in May. Of course that's not much of a complaint.

It wasn't exactly something Amazon ran, though you did miss out on it. I'm pretty confident I put a link about the ECA (months and months back) that was giving out 10% off codes for game orders on Amazon (at the time, they aren't any more).
Well at some point there was a glitch which if you canceled an order that had a code attached to it, the code stayed in your account but you could still add another code, which would result in 20% off your game order. This glitch actually got up to 30% for some people who found out about the glitch and canceled enough orders. Sadly I actually found out on accident otherwise I'd have went for 30%. Oh well, if I want a game I just e-mail amazon and ask them to add it to my current "open" order and I get the discount added (but since it's an open order, that's why I can't select release date delivery). Another bad thing is I can't apply the video game credits to this order, so I usually use the credit on cheaper games or just accessories.

Yeah I figured you may link to ECA but there were some threads on CAG a while back telling people to not be affiliated with them since they were doing some shady stuff with people's info. so I never signed up.

Those threads happened after the Amazon codes went away. Had those not gone away, I'm sure no one would have complained. A lot of stuff was overblown IMO.

Oh well it certainly worked well enough to scare me off.

However to be honest you may have told me about the ECA deal when it was going on and I went for another deal Amazon had at the time and forgot the ECA deal. Because I swear I asked you in a PM about game deals and you mentioned ECA hence why I knew about it in the first place.

I may check on it again now though.
