http://www.hulu.com/watch/123686/americas-game-1973-miami-dolphins There are 6 commercials you'll have to endure, but this show tracks the Dolphins 1973 season. I learned a lot about Dolphins football watching this. Hopefully some of you relive the memories. Was unaware we were the first team to have 2 backs put up dual 1,000 yard seasons, and this was back when football was football and not some semi-flag football sport. Also was unaware that the 3 of them (Kiick, Czonk & Morris) hauled in 24 TD's between them. PS. Loved Anderson the SS and the story about kutch. Other stuff as well..
Not to take this thread completely off topic, but you guys should post in the NHL forum and back me up every now and again on topic.. '73 dolphins kick ***.
Ok guys. I watched the '72 & '73 vids. Now I'm all meloncoly and weepy. WHY can't we have that kind of team now? I think it's possible if Tony gets his way. A lot of the things they said about Shula remind me of Tony. The emotions, the dedication, the attention to detail. And the hard practices. Shula was brilliant, so I don't think anyone can top that. Thanks for posting them..
Because the 1980s 49ers changed everything. Rule changes on the part of the NFL to give advantages to the offense--QB and WR specifically, such as the "no contact beyond 5 yards" rule--have also opened things up. Of if you're referring to camaraderie, Parcells tries to build that in his teams wherever he goes. At some point, we'll have it again.
I honestly think Tony has us going in the right direction for the camaraderie. As for the rest, I'm hoping he stays tough and pushes them like he has been.
