So i have decided to log my random video game thoughts of the day.... You're welcome. Day 1 Why isn't Fallout 1 or 2 ported to the DS? It seems like the perfect marriage with the touch screen and all of the hype behind the monster that is Fallout 3. I would think a Fallout 1 & 2 port to the DS would be a killer. Day 2 (sorry, was busy with fanhell crap yesterday) Why doesn't more developers take the iPhone/iPod Touch more seriously as a game machine? I didn't get "it" either.... until I got an iPhone. iPhone users spend money on the App Store. Why? I have no ****ing clue. We just do. Even guys like me who have hacked it and Jail broken it to death, it pay for stuff. The install base of the iPhone/iPod Touch is ridiculous, and people will always have their phone on them. When GTA: China Town Wars came out on the iPhone, the first thing I did (besides posting a new thread lol) was run out and buy it. It was only $10. I bet the thing sells like crazy (I will almost guarantee it does better than the PSP version) and continues to do so or a while. I'm not saying to have a full line of premium exclusives for the iPhone. I'm just saying some top tier DS/PSP could do well as a second push for publishers on the iPhone. Day 3 Sony announces that God of War 3 will launch on March 16th. This is one week after FFXIII. Why the hell would you put your mega monster against one of your other mega monsters?? Can't wait another few weeks and put it up against Splinter Cell (360 exclusive)? This seems like a dumb move that will only hurt GoW3 and Sony as a whole. Day 4 Does it annoy anyone else when a game launches *Cough* Dante's Inferno *cough* and not even 24 hours later, the publisher announces DLC for said game. WE DIDN'T EVEN GET TO ENJOY THE GAME! And you're already announcing DLC and how much it will cost. Day 5 So they just announced that Bioshock2 will get a midnight launch... Who decides which games launch at midnight and which dont? On top of that, what makes them think Bioshock2 deserves a midnight launch? Dont take this wrong... I LOVED Bioshock. I got at least 6 people I know to play it. But a midnight launch? I dont think so. I guess I'm trying to see if the publisher pushes for a midnight launch due to hype, or if Gamestop just decides when they feel like it to do a midnight launch.
Perhaps not random, but why the hell won't Squeenix remake FFVII for the PS3? They can take the time to attempt and creat something like FFXIII-Versus (which has shown very little since it was first introduced) but they have a sure fire money maker and they aren't taking advantage.
Indeed. The Final Fantasy series is a big fat cash cow if there ever was one. I play it for the soundtrack alone.
By that logic, why not remake FF7 on the PS3 and the 360? Why limit your audience for a game that's been out for over 10 years?
I would assume Interplay still does. It'd be a limited investment for a huge payoff imo. Whats its competition on the DS??
Could the DS cartridge even hold the game? One problem I could see is they'd have to go in and change all the drug related stuff to get it released everywhere like Bethesda had to do with Fallout 3. I'd probably have to steal my brother's DS if they could manage it those were awesome games You can try here [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Planescape-Torment-Pc/dp/B00002EPZ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1264478659&sr=1-1"]Amazon.com: Planescape: Torment: PC: Video Games[/ame]
Because Kitase is busy with FF13, and Nomura is busy with Versus 13, and at least three Kingdom Hearts games.
Why the hell didn't Gandalf think to summon giant *** birds to fly the hobbits to Mordor and to MT Doom but after the deed is done.
This long rumored and long awaited remake is the reason I haven't bought a PS3 yet. Though that may change as soon as Mrs. VO gets our taxes filed ...
So what happened to the big ****ing boat at the end of RE5? Usually there is a big explosion that would make Michael Bay **** his pants at the end of an RE game.
IMO: the lack of physical controls means that they can't easily port games, and big publishers don't really want to invest the time and money to create something from scratch. Super Monkey Ball was really the best possible iPhone game that could have been released, simply because of the premise and the way it was controllable by tilting the iPhone. I think LucasArts could make big money by releasing a Rogue Squadron type game with tilt controls and tap to shoot.

still seems stupid bro. It'lll eat out of MS's share, but it will take away from Sony as well. In a world where Microsft already wins the software war on all multiplatform games, they need FFXIII to be a smash. Silly move Sony, silly.
i think it's two very different game types, but hardcore gamers are still hardcore gamers. Not sure how much cash the average gamer has in a two week period for new games, but I think it's one game a month or so. All if the RPG guys will get FF13 period. The other hardcore group will be choosing one or the other. This is stupid. It's stupid because 360 owners will only have FF13. So this means FF13 on 360 will outsell PS3 AGAIN. we're talking about a game MADE FOR THE PS3 then ported due to projected sales figures. This is the dumbest move ever. If it's too lopsided, they're lose Versus 13 as well.
this is what I was talking a bout. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yqVD0swvWU&feature=PlayList&p=dOWv76j71Ew"]YouTube- How Lord of The Rings Should Have Ended[/ame]
i hope they do some work on the engine... It's looking waaaaay dated now. L4D is some of the ugliest games I've ever played.
I haven't played either L4D, but I am playing through the Half Life series (got done with HL Source, and am about halfway through HL2 now), and HL2 still looks damn nice for being over 5 years old. Granted, this is on my PC. The PC versions DESTROY the console ones.
No, not at all. It shows they weren't sitting on their butts for 3 months doing nothing while the game was coming out. If I didn't understand the game development cycle I might be annoyed.
Dante's Inferno? What's that? The only game worth buying* this month is Ace Attorney Investigations. * Okay, so Lunar: Silver Star Harmony might be worth a look, too.

The only game I can think off that I'd be willing to do a midnight launch for this year is Red Dead Redemption. Even then, I'm probably just going to pick it up some time during launch week.
i think i`ll pick up the midnight launch depending on when it comes out. right now my top three are final fantasy, god of war and bioshock. i might pick up god of war first though because i know that will be good and may wait for reviews of final fantasy to surface first. im just afraid 13 could be such a huge flop. on a seperate note i didnt finish bioshock 1. i did however get to the `twist`. a buddy of mine says the ending is pretty generic and the twist was the best part. my question to you guys is this? should i finish the game before i play 2 or was my buddy right?
The actual ending is pretty average... But even after the twist there's some pretty cool events that take place en route to the ending. Definitely worth beating
i guess ill have to rent it and beat it. i believe i was pretty close too so it shouldn`t take me long. so many games to beat right now.
So I thought last year was a pretty amazing year for gaming software. But at the end of this month it feels like this year will have already seen the same number of very good to great games as 2009, with more than 6 months left to go. Perhaps I am misremembering the early portions of 2009 and selling it short. Anyone else think 2010 might end up being the best year (so far) for software of this generation?
