"Flappin his jaws off" made me chuckle. That was something my dad used to say all the time. It acurately depics Crowder. Get his a** out of here now, along with Joey f****** Porter.
The sooner Porter is gone, the better I'll like it. Get as much as we can for him, but get his mouth and attitude off my team! His play is NOT worth the cancer he represents in our locker room. And if Crowder doesn't have the sense to see Wake is the future based on his production this year, then IMHO we ought to get rid of him too because you'd have to be pretty stupid not to see that handwriting on the wall.
I thought this all started by Sparano basically telling Joey that he wasn't going to be a full-time player any more and will have to split snaps if he's still on the team.
Then why is Porter so adamant about not wanting to share snaps and wanting to be a full time player? Was Skolnics story about Porter refusing to come off the field the reason why he was suspended BS? I would tend to think that at this point, Porter is just trying to paint himself as the victim, to increase his appeal to other teams.
Listen to what he said. He made it an issue about playing in crunchtime. In his opinion, Sparano used his being 1 hour late for curfew as an excuse to bench him and then rotate him. he points to his production when playing after his hamstring injury....he was pretty good even though he was disgruntled and pissed off. it rubbed off on his teammates it seems.
Do you agree with Porter sending Wake off the field despite what the coaches said? Because I would be willing to guess thats the real reason Porter was suspended.
Zach Thomas is rolling over in his concussion induced bed knowing Porter and Crowder are the Dolphins linebackers.
THAT happens all the time. Marino changed plays..Favre refused to leave a game this year, Ray Lewis would change play calls and call Rex Ryan an "idiot", Peyton Manning changes plays in the huddle, Emmitt Smith used to refuse to run out of certain formations and plays, etc... Again, listen to what he said, he said that he was told that he would be "rested"....not sit out entire quarters, and be benched for final drives and possesions. he has pride, he was on the all-decade team, he is a SB champion,... this was bound to happen. I prefer the manly approcach of telling him "Ah, Joey, we want you as a situational pass rusher...oh..okay...you don;t want to do that? Okay, we will release you then. good luck wherever you go."
Sure, he has pride. And Sparano has a job, to win as many games as possible. If he thinks Joey needs to come out, Joey should come out. If Joey wants to be an insubordinate, then by all means, I think Sparano should do whatever he feels is necessary. The fact is, it was obvious to everyone that Wake should have been in there more. Most here blamed Sparano. Now we know who kept Wake off the field.
This is an even bigger deal than Porter's comments, IMO. The last thing this locker room needs is a schism between players who support Peezy and players who don't. Add into that a potential rift between the locker room and the coaches, and we've got problems. It might be time to consider ending the Crowder era. He is exactly the kind of guy who would turn into a locker room cancer if allowed.
EVERYBODY IS A CANCER! Just line up the whole team and shoot them all. Hint....players vote on captains......Joey Porter was voted as captain along with JT, Penny and Fergy
And half of the Eagles sided with TO when he was suspended that one season...Just because the players support him, doesn't mean that he is right.
I'd ship him right to the Pats or the Jets....Long will swallow him right up....the guy will rot next year....I dont fear Joey Porter one bit...
Except TO wasn't hired as head coach or general manager. He was hired to be a WR. If Parcells wanted Porter to make decisions on who plays and who doesn't play, he would have hired him as coach, no?
I'm pretty sure that the players wouldn't have voted for Porter as a team captain if they had known what he was going to pull this season. This isn't the NBA. Players don't get to run the team.
dude I couldn't agree with you more, he has all the makings of causing a crap-storm in that locker room, with really no leaders....and if JT comes back, and is that leader, he needs to get all up in Crowder's arse......
Unless you are one of about 10 quarterbacks. this treating players like children crap is plain stupid. This is a players league. you need free agency to build a champion. You get a bad reputation, there goes your chances of competing.
The difference being that those 10 quarterbacks are doing a hell of a lot more to guarantee the success of their team than Joey Porter. If a player behaves like a child, he'll get treated like a child. Somehow, I don't think Joey Porter's dissatisfaction is going to scare players away from South Beach.
If anything, Porter being treated like this tells the rest of the players that you are accountable for your actions. If anything, it will attract players who don't want to have to deal with guys like Porter.
Accountable? You call playing these little games "Holding somebody accountable"? I don't want players that don't want to deal with guys like Porter. Who would want such weak minded *****s?
This is 2010, not 2008. "What have you done for me lately?" If it instills a little bit of common sense and humility into underproductive players, I'm all for it. There's no reason for grown men to act like children. You are seriously overreacting in the wrong direction to this news.
Yeah, I mean what was Sparano thinking? Porter should be the one substituting personnel! Heres an idea for Porter; if he wanted to stay on the field, how about not get outproduced by a guy who played in the CFL last season?
I for one only want guys that will play for the Dolphins for free and have the team logo tattooed on their forehead.
me..Overreacting? LOL! Sparano should have a hit put out on Porter. If the next guy acts up, he gets a finger cut off and his house set on fire. Do you guys have ANY idea what goes on with these pro teams? this is NOT COLLEGE.
Clearly Section these players owe them their lives. Any type of insult to their Dolphin watching results in a lack of credibility to the fullest. Forget playing injured Joey, you're a prick. Crowder you spoke? Wait you said something? **** you you little *****. I'd never tell you that myself in person, but how DARE YOU QUESTION the great Dolphin franchise. If you want mindless clones I'm sure you could include a million dollar don't say a word clause somewhere in your contract.
I know that when the coach says you come out of the game, you come out of the game. I know that when you violate team rules, you get punished for it. I know that when a player is allowed to operate according to his own whims, it undermines the coach's authority. Now, fine, plenty of NFL coaches have looked the other way when their star players have committed indiscretions. They don't want to punish the team for the faults of the player. But here's the thing: Joey Porter is not our star player. He regressed to 2007 form. He was a disappointment this year. There were stretches of games where he was totally invisible, especially the first Patriots game. If you were defending Lawrence Taylor or Dick Butkus, I could understand where you're coming from. But this is Joey "Tackle? What's that? It ain't on my stat sheet!" Porter. He wants to cry about coming off the field? Perhaps he should have performed better while he was out there. As for Sparano putting a hit out on Peezy, he should be careful about that. Porter might get his buddies to beat up Sparano in a casino somewhere.
Mindless clones? How about players that don't try to sabotage the coach? Is that too much to ask for?
This is the same type of stuff that made Cam Cameron a spineless loser. He let players get away with this type of BS.
Yes, and the fans would like to see an ILB consistently make tackles and big plays. While we're at it, how about an ILB too that doesn't get a stupid smile on his face everytime he gets a penalty for playing undisciplined football. Crowder found out just how few options he has when he was a FA and NOBODY broke down doors lookking for him. Since nobody else has said it I'll say it - Sparano took Porter and Taylor off the field because they weren't getting enough done to warrent being in 100% of the time. He might have thought he could have gotten better play out of them if they were fresh as opposed to playing old and tired. Sorry, but that's probably the reason... Porter and Taylor were unable to beat single blocking much of this season.
Right back at you - If you let players run the team you have a bunch of has beens running the program into the ground... and moreover some of those same FA players that want a quality program - the type of guys our staff and FO would like won't come your way. Miami will NEVER have players running things while this staff is here.... and I love it. Porter is the last person I want representing Miami. Jason Taylor and Jay Feeley already learned this lesson.
Porter's only crime is that he wasn;t producing at midseason. If he had another 17 sack season...he could have done whatever he wanted.
True, but nobody listened anyhow. Nobody respects that. Players just think it's funny. The fact is that guys that run their mouths and don't produce, or that don't buy into our system (offseason work) wont last around here. Watch and see.
Damn, I just said this same thing in the other thread before reading this. I agree with it 100%, but if you aren't producing then those antics get old pretty quick. Milton Bradley used to get away with MURDER when he was playing well. Now his bull**** is stinking up the place because he's a .250 hitter. If you're gonna be a dick, you better be putting up the numbers to compensate.
