Waiting eagerly on this review as this game is high on my wait and see list.

Same here...hence why it's on my wait and see list and not must buy list.

I haven't finished the first one yet but I have it sitting on the shelf. I'm not sure when I'll ever get to it or this game though. Still busy with MW2, Borderlands, Uncharted 2, and hopefully Mass Effect 2 soon. I don't know how I'll ever get time to play all the must plays this year.

I played for about 3 hours and it has been fun thus far. I still haven't run into any plot twist yet. Everything is pretty straight forward and kinda feels like you are playing training levels.

I am still awaiting that big plot twist but when I think about it....the last game took a while to get going too. I agree with Mor when he says that there is really nothing about 3 to 4 hours in that will knock your socks off. I do think that is about to change though. It is building up to something.

I say Bioshock 1 started off stronger. For several reasons. 1. Bioshock 1 was much earlier in the 360's life cycle, so it was easier to impress (graphically and otherwise). 2. The original game started with a plane crash and a lot of confusion. Here you kind lose that feeling of "where the hell am I". 3. The novelty of the city of Rapture isn't as fresh or new as it felt before. This is what I feared the most. Rapture was an awesome world to experience. Bioshock 2 just feels like more of the same. Not saying it's bad. Just doesnt feel new.

I'm barely 5 hours in, so who knows what changes are ahead.

If you pre-order it on Steam, you get 10% off and you get the 1st Bioshock FREE!

I don't know how all you guys can stand playing FPS on a console...

It's much easier on my wrist. I type all day long so the last thing I want to do is place more stress on my wrist. It's really just as easy as playing on the PC once you get use to it.

I do agree it has that been there/done that feel. Something definitely has to change to make the game stand out.

You may get used to it, but aiming with an analog stick is POOP. Nowhere near as good as a mouse, IMO.

For me it comes down to comfort. I play games in my bed or on my couch. on the PC. I'm at the desk.. Bah. Some folks have PCs hooked up to their big screens with wireless mice and keyboards... Too much nonsense.

I'll sacrifice that tid bit of accuracy for my HDMI 42" 1080p PS3/360 any day of the week.

    Yeah, I hear you.

Personally, I'd rather game at my PC. I sacrifice a small bit of comfort for better visuals and gameplay.

Less than 2' away from my 23" widescreen monitor, resolution at 1920x1200, graphics settings at max. No console game can look (or play) that good.

All comes down to what fits your needs. I can't afford to keep up with the pc hardware needed to run the most recent games and I can moved my console around the house without much hassle.

I actually stopped playing... This is not a good sign. I'm 5 hours or so in and I hae no desire to play it. My buddy says it gets better, but at this point here's what's killing it for me:

    1. The exploration feeling is gone. Bioshock1 was very Metroid-ish. BAck tracking, and exploring for clues were commonplace. This one seems a lot more straight forward. Follow the path, kill everything, get whatever's given to you in this path, win the game.

    2. The world is old. It's seems like you're playing an Bioshock1 expansion. Besides being able to cast your own shadow now, there's very little graphical improvement. The novelty of the world of Rapture has pretty much worn thin to me.

    3. This kinda goes with number 2, but there's just not enough things that deffer from Bioshock1 to make it interesting. The story is weaker, the plasmids are cool but not much new. And the linearity of the game is gut wrenching.

I'm not saying it's a bad game, but I'm pretty sure it won't capture the world like Bioshock1.

don't pick it up. i haven't played bioshock 1, but bioshock 2 is real bad. it's very slow with very little reward.

also it's really cheesy. not sure if this happened in bioshock one, but you'll hear stuff like "big sister is watching you." made me cringe. it just feels like a lazy game, from the just ok graphics, to the arbitrary and simple bad guys and weapons, to the pseudo-orwellian plot.

I don't think this game has anything to offer anyone that hasn't played though the first one. The first game was very good.

I still haven't gotten back around to play it because of Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno.

fair enough. i had a back log of FPS shooters i just got through in the last month: MWF2, wolfenstein and halo 3 (i'm glad i finally played through this. my favorite in the series).

after finishing those games it's hard to play bioshock 2. in all fairness, i only gave it 2+ hours, but i'd be forcing myself to play through the game after this point.

Bioshock was one of the best games in this generation imo (the early stages at least)... part2, not so much.

So i went against the grain here and bought it anyway. Gotta say im pleasantly surprised.

The story does indeed pick up later in the game. There's an overall storyline about parenthood in the game that really takes center stage. As a Big Daddy you do feel that urge to save every little sister and the game uses that to drive you to its conclusion.

The combat is far better in this one than the first. Setting traps, dual wielding and better use of the plasmids this time around make each fights more fun. Graphics are still great. You do feel like you've been here before, but Rapture is still such a strange place that you never feel like your at ease.

Overall i'm very surprised. For a sequel that should have never been made, this ended up being pretty solid. It's worth looking into.

I finished the game the other night. i thought it was rather easy on normal. i just froze and smashed EVERYTHING. i had tons of money and adam at the end. i think it was basically a nice long continuation of the first game, with a different story. it was a good game, but certainly lacked that new game excitement. and for a sequel, it was far less fun and exciting as compared to Assassins Creed 2 or Gears of War 2. no surprises, decent fun.
