Anyone notice when Joey Porter has a bad year, its all the coaches fault, using him "incorrectly" (2007, 2009), but when he has a good year, its not that the coaches used him "correctly," but rather all his own doing (2008)?

I have faith in our coaches to develop Cameron Wake into an every-down player. He just turned 28 and Porter will turn 33 in March.

This is what I've been waiting for, honestly. Wake taking Porters position.

Long way to go, but he has to start somewhere. He is not even an everydown player yet, but to be quite honest, I cant wait to see Porter go, the guy just pisses me off

9 sacks is a bad year? Man we are spoiled. The 49ers sack leader was Manny Lawson with 6.5.

(for the record, im not defending porter. I want him gone. But the man produced very well despite significantly less time)

9 sacks, but how many Pressures or QB hits? Porter failed to consistently get pressure on the QB, and was terrible against the run. Add to the fact that he has a big mouth and is selfish, his future isn't looking very bright.

I remember at least two sacks that pressure up the middle caused the quarterback to run into Porter. On at least one occassion Porter looked silly for celebrating the sack.

2007 - They tried to get Porter to play strongside and the opponents ran right at him.

2008 - He played weakside exclusively and the opponent shifted every down in attempt to run at him.

2009 - He was injured and even before the injury he endured a lack of production.

The dude is no better than Cameron Wake is already. He's a one trick pony. That is exactly why the coaching staff wanted to get Wake in the game. Porter has no upside.

no doubt bro. He's done, and i agree with that.

no reason to hate the guy though. He performed well enough here and was a major part of us making the playoffs in 2008. I wish him luck in the end.

Disagree, Porter is not done by a good stretch, he can still play.

    But not in Miami.
