I thought the same thing. I think JT probably just breathed a sigh of relief.
It would be kind of funny if NE were to sign him.

    Don't get this view...

They don't give in to trade demands they let them walk for free instead?

Talk about setting an ugly precedent.

Should have ridden this out and got something out of him.
Looks like we caved more with what we did IMO.

I'm hoping there's more to the story than just this but this is twice now that I"m left scratching my head about the FO letting talent at OLB walk for nothing in return. Seems like a player just needs to push the right button with this regime and they'll knee jerk react with an immediate cut.

Can't say it dosen't worry me a little.
Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and put up with a disgruntled player and find a solution for the best interest of the team.

Not surprised really. And, just as well IMO. My guess is he had zero trade value, and the FO simply didn't want him (and his attitude) around anymore. He had a 1 million bonus coming in a couple more weeks IIRC. Good riddens Peezy. Can't say I'm sorry to see you go.

While I think we're better off without him, I wish he would have shut his stupid mouth so we could have at least tried to trade him. Im tired of releasing players and getting nothing in exchange for them. I wish we could have at least gotten something for him, at least a late round pick. You know he's going to get picked up right away, but with him opening his mouth, everyone knew we'd have to let him go.

Remains to be seen how much money he gets. I'd be surprised if he got anything big.

He still thinks he's a starter. He's been terrible against the run for a few years now. He gets his sacks and disappears for the rest of the game. I think he has a place as a role player somewhere. But he doesn't want that. He doesn't want to come off the field.

Perhaps if he goes to a team with mediocre linebackers, he can start. But if he's limiting himself to starter roles, then the pickins are gonna be slimmer.

Nobody was gonna trade for him. And we were cutting him anyway. So what would be accomplished by holding him for another three weeks?

I'm sad to see Porter go and sad we didn't get anything for him. Hope this means we're definitely keeping JT.

I think, though what he really needs to work on is dropping back into coverage.

Oh I get it now. Thanks.
Pretty weird that they wouldn't already know that though. Don't you think?

Especially after bringing in a new capologist from the Browns.

Stuff like this happens in baeball all the time, put a cat on waivers, see who makes a claim and then see if a deal could be worked out.

    Or

    The FO just screwed up..

Padre you just put a kink in things.

    Joey Porter=Team player NOT
He blabbed off on purpose knowing it would kill any possible trade value for the Dolphins.
What a stand up guy NOT
Glad he is gone we need positive role models don't forget we have a ton of young talent.

This means JT can go back to the weakside, where he belongs.
