Money isn't very important in the beginning stages. If you have enough money to go negative for awhile I'd do it. Your population will grow and that negative will probably turn into a positive in a short amount of time.

So are the buildings the same in the new colonies?

If you have two academies does that let you study two things at once??

I'm trying to setup a new colony tomorrow, what is the most important thing to have? Money? Wood?

I've looked at them on the world map.

I have one of each of the other luxury item islands right next to me and none have anyone on them. Thats why I'm in a hurry to get there but if I need that much stuff first its gonna be a couple days.

The higher the mill the more workers you can put in there. As long as you are getting wood you are doing ok.

 

Yeah thats really good, the one on my island is only level 3.
