I just beat the game earlier and i loved it. Great story and for some reason i loved the sound track!!! I replayed one of the chapters towards the end and got a completely different ending. I love it. I think i am going to play it from the beginning and see how i can change the story even more. Every ps3 owner should at least try this game!
Beat it this was my ending. Spoiler -Ethan, Madison and Shaun were purchasing the apartment just like yours -Exact same ending with Jayden. I can't imagine a virtual reality tank could kill you but idk -Shelby dies but he falls into a trash grinder. As Ethan is trying to open the grate Shelby pulls a gun only to be tackled by Jayden. While Ethan performs CPR on Shuan and saves him Shelby and Jayden battle up top on a conveyor belt. At first you knock him over and he's hanging on above the grinder and asks you to save him. I did only to be attacked by him, but after more fighting you knock him and and he's chopped up. -I managed to save Lauren, and she is at Shelbys grave pondering why he did it and how their was no excuse. I love this line "You killed my son Scott, were you thinking about that when you held me in your arms". She then spits on his grave. -No follow up on Grace(Shaun's mom) or Carter Blake. Blade what was your ending.
Spoiler - Shaun's mother brings him to the jail as Ethan is getting released. Shaun tells Ethan to promise to never leave him again. - Jayden is shown on a late night show as the man who solved it all, then he's shown in a public bathroom on a toilet where he contemplates what to do with the medicine, and he decides to flush it. His final scene is where he's using ARI and two virtual army tanks pop up... he takes the glasses off and returns to his office but the virtual tanks are still there, and pointing at him. - Jayden saves Shaun by gettin the gate open and performing CPR on Shaun. Jayden then calls for back up and heads for the roof and discovers Shelby up there. They battle up top on a conveyor belt. I copied and pasted the parts that were the same for me that was already said. It looks like i was the only one so far to get Ethan arrested twice. Oops. That is what happened the first time i played it. I went back replayed the apartment fire chapter and managed to save Madison this time by hiding in the refrigerator ala Indiana Jones style. Everything else was the same in the ending except a scene is shown with Madison at a book store signing copies of her new book about the Origami Killer. She then starts signing a book and you her a voice saying that she is a great person to help solve the case and something else. I forget right now but once my ps3 gets fixed. Ill replay it and find out what is said. I then replayed the last chapter to see what would happen if i managed to not save Shaun. Jayden and Madison and trying to free Shaun. Shelby come up from behind and chokes Madison. I let her die. Then Jayden and Shelby start fighting. They make it to the top of the roof and I let Jayden die by falling in the shredder. The tv announcer says that the body of Shaun is found dead. Also that Jayden and Madison were found dead and that they suspect Shelby to be the Origami Killer. The next scene is Ethan in jail. He ties a noose and hangs himself in jail. Hes dead. The next scene is the captain and Blake talkin about goin to Jayden funeral. Blake says they never saw eye to eye so he says hes not going. As the captain leaves, Blake asks him what he should do with Jayden's glasses (ARI). The captain tells him to do whatever he wants with them. The next 10 secs is Blake debating whether or not to put the glasses on. He puts them on and the scene changes to the mountains and Blake sees Jayden walking over to him and starts talking to him. Blake is shocked. I forget what is said. The last scene is Shelby walking down the street in the rain. As a person approaches him. It is Lauren. She tells Shelby that she promised her son that she would murder the person that killed her son. She then points a gun at Shelby. The screen goes black and then a gun shot is heard. I like that ending the best besides that fact that everyone dies.
returned Heavy Rain on Saturday. Got some bonus credit for it and some other mess... Long story short, Gamestop gave me $52 towards God of War 3. Sweet.
I wish I could do that because I am one of these people who buys a game and keeps it for their collection. I can't force myself to return them. I'm glad people do though because its how I get a lot of my games (used) and the fact you will basically just pay about $70 to play both GOWIII and Heavy Rain is a deal.
I traded in a handful of old sports games (including NCAA 2009 and the Show 09), warhawk, and 3 psp games and got like $70 for it because of the extra 50% credit deal. I rarely trade games in, but those were ones I'd never play again anyway. Too bad I have like every game I want pre-ordered through Amazon already.
I know the feeling. Once I started shopping at Amazon for games its like crack with the reduced prices, game credits, and no sales tax. Come to think of it I just ordered Heavy Rain from Amazon yesterday...so I hope to actually be able to contribute a bit to this thread.
my brother just picked this up. he's not a big gamer, so i get a free hand me down in a few weeks. SWEET! i may get dantes inferno used, or just wait for GOW3.

liked the game, my ending was different than any that i've read on here. I'll post it below... the killer is always the same right? Spoiler - Jayden ends up in the grinder - Shelbie gets away but is eventually tracked down by Lauren and she shoots him on the street. This was the very end... The ending made me think there could easily be a sequel as it seemed like a dream sequence, as you don't see Shelbie die, just hear the gun shot. -the two buy the apartment. -the police detective who was working with Jayden reluctantly, tries on his glasses after Jayden dies and see Jayden in the virtual reality world

So I finished this game last night. I think I had the most depressing ending out of all of you... Spoiler Jayden gets killed by the black dude in the grinder. Tried to save him, couldn't. Scott Shelby is the killer. Madison figures it out, only to jump out of the burning bulding to her death. I decide not to drink the poison. This causes Shaun to die, as all of the other 'Hero's' are dead. Scott Shelby gets away unpunished. Ethan shoots himself in the head.
WTF! Did you try to do as poorly as possible in this game? I finally got this game off my brother, and it was quick. I may go back and try the last board differently. Spoiler I didn't save Lauren. But I escaped the fire with Madison and she single handedly saved the kid. Jayden was passed out, Ethan was supposedly poisoned, so I went with her, and she got Shelby to fall to his death. Madison, Ethan, and the kid got the apartment. Its assumed Jayden dies and Blake puts on his glasses and see's him in the virtual world. It shows Shelby's grave, and thats it. Relatively happy ending.
My Ending: Spoiler Madison Dies after jumping from the burning Building. I accused Carter Blake and Jayden retires. Ethan finds Shaun at the warehouse and is ultimately shot outside by the police officers. Shelby is killed by Lauren
Spoiler I just finished. One thing i did not like was i figured that Shelby was the killer when he was with Lauren and he was getting nervous that Lauren was putting things together...and then i saw he had a typewriter and was like yep its him
My ending (i beat it back a few months ago and LOVED it) Spoiler I f'in blew it at the end and Shelby killed Jayden...the way he killed him was pretty sweet though. Decided to NOT take the last clue where you ingest the poison. I ended up finding him and saving his son I felt like I did pretty awesome knowing I didn't need to kill myself to save the kid Madison lives and her and Ethan end up together raising Shawn. I can't believe I took that creepy guys drink after he insisted the 3rd time. The person watching me play at the time called me out on it too hahaha Shelby gets away but Lauren kills him at the end. Still bummed I lost Jayden though, he was my favorite character even if he was only average at fighting.
