just saw it on the NFL NETWORK bottom ticker. lacanfor says that dansby
and miami have set up an early friday morning meeting and all signs
say he will sign tomarrow if the contract is agreeable.

sounds like this is where he has wanted to be all along as even some
of his team mates have said.

no other meetings have been reported.

    :knucks:

They say the FA's usually sign the first place they go, but its still not a given. It would be a good signing though. We need a lot of help.

I don't want to get my hopes up too much, every year I swear there is a free agent who is supposed to sign with Miami but goes elsewhere.

Well, the way the Trifecta does things, this would mean Akin A and Reggie Torbor are in jeopardy of being released along with Porter, thei cumulative salaries would equal Dansby's one yr salary give or take.

Switch to the NFL network now! Dansby report coming after break.

Note: Basically said he's coming to Miami and he's postponed his other visits and they expect him to be signed tomorrow (today!)

    not at all
you have been listening to too much of the pundits talking about a weak market
also they said dansby can't rush the passer
    dansby is a beast
do you think we would have this much interest if we didnt believe he should be here
even for the cash he wants
believe in the fo they know what they are doing

Normally, I would be a little leery of signing a FA to a big contract from the standpoint that once they get their big payday, typically they don't play with the same intensity that got them there. I also get nervous about signing a guy that's already hit his prime, and may be starting to plateau. Or, worse yet, starting to decline. The Porter signing a few years ago is a prime example IMO. Having said that, I think Dansby is a football player first and foremost. I think he loves to compete, and wants to win. I think he'll want to earn whatever contract he signs. And, I think he still has 2-3 years of prime in him (fingers crossed).

a lot of his $$$ will be guaranteed, so it won't really matter if he gets hurt along the way. What makes him such a good fit for us is that 1- he's good, 2- he's versatile capable of playing inside or outside LB

Dansby is a fast, athletic, playmaking ILB, who can cover the TE about as good as anybody.

lol...did you watch any Dolphin games this season? This is basically EXACTLY what we need.

I agree with those saying watch the cap. It will probably come back at some point, but listen to this:

    Dansby, Spikes, McClain, Wake

Signing is not "eminent" guys. Dont set us up for disappointment. I recommend to temper expectations...What we know is that hes coming to Miami but theres a LONG way before we can call his signing a lock

they usually sign the first place they go, except when it is Miami, yeah sounds alot like Calvin Pace last year...I hate the fact he is going to miami first, he will take their offer and shop it alla Pace did...

If you think he wont shop around the one contract opportunity he has in the one year that is uncapped, your fooling yourself....as well if you think that KD is giving Miami the hometown discount your fooling yourself, he will go to whoever pays his the most flat out, and then say in the presser...."he couldnt envision not being anywhere but ___________"

You know, I really hate that this year is uncapped. I just think that its going to ruin the sport if it stays that way. I love the fact that every team has the same amount of money to spend on players. They leave this uncapped and your going to make the NFL just like baseball and ruin it.

Dansby signing would be great, but with no cap you never know what kind of money is going to get thrown at these players.
