http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2765318/new_york_giants_busy_yet_quiet_on_day.html I dont think these cats are serious, they are not big spenders. My opinion is Miami has a chance at Rolle. Rolle leaves NY and only ARZ stands in the way and if you think Dansby is not recruiting him your crazy.
Another thing is teams are not bidding for Rolle. The Bears droped out, Giants keep flirting, but no action. All the big names have been signed, Rolle still a FA.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/05/rolle-still-talking-to-giants-cardinals/ It basicaly says our FO isnt really persuing Rolle anymore....I hope it isnt true...but if so I cant be completly disapointed
I bet that's why he left. NYG would be for the money, Miami would be for the family. He must actually be following up on his words.
That is how they do things though, they make the same offer to three players they like, let the player shop themselves around, and if they decide Miami is the best offer for them Tuna and Co keep the door open if that happens.
Personaly I would be happy with atogwe or Rolle. I also like Taylor Mays myself....I know probably foolish but I liked him his junior year before his stock prolly got lowered a little....at pick 12 though...nah
I hope he chooses Miami over Money! The Giants aren't really going after him too hard. The Dolphins put their offer out there, so we'll see if he really wants to play for Miami, or was using it as leverage.
Newsday and the Newark Star-Ledger both report that the Giants have signed free agent FS Antrel Rolle. Moments later, the New York Daily News reported the same. Length and financial terms are not yet available. Rolle was going to let the Cardinals match any outside offer, so Giants GM Jerry Reese is likely forking over big bucks. Per Roto
Yea, and with Atogwe being cheaper, we could then divert our remaining resources to Mr. Antonio Bryant. It's Atogwe time in South Beach.
When healthy, that is Atogwe's real weakness, he is dinged..alot. Funny thing about Rolle...thiis is the same guy who lost his job at Cb to Ron Hood...
Would have been nice to see Rolle behind our 2 up and comming Corners...along with Dansby helping along any young LBs we got....Its all good though. Still moves to be made
Rumors swirled that we offered around 5 yr/30-35 mil. If we maxed at 5/35, we had to be off on the guaranteed money side of the house, because I can't see Rolle choosing NY over Miami due to an extra 2 mil that he might not ever seen anyways.
