He is a restricted FA for the Browns but wasn't tendered so if we offered a deal they don't match, we don't have to give up anything.

He's young, only 25. He has 11 career interceptions and returned one of them 100 yards for a touchdown. Last year, he went on injured reserve after a concussion and had 4 int's and 50 tackles in 10 games.

    What do you guys think?

Short answer no! Long answer always injured 1 concussion from being a bobblehead

If not for the injury history he would be more palatable than some of the other options.

He has 4 concussions, and there is already talk of retirement for him. I'd take him on the cheap, but since the Browns could just match, that most likely won't happen. His strength is coverage, which is what we need in our next safety.

Yeah but he has played with more then a few concussions. He was the one injured against Cincy late in 09 and was thinking retirement.

Hahaha I feel you! Do to a family fued with an uncle who is a huge Browns fan I always had the Browns on one of my TV's in the man cave. Pool would just be a GERBIL type signing. I can't say it enough signing cast offs from the Browns, Raiders or Lions is not a way to upgrade our team. These end up hurting us and costing us games like GERBIL! Then we cut them and waste money!

In an uncapped year this is our chance for high impact players. I myself would like to see us take the offer we put on the table for Rolle tweak it a little and land Atogwe.:up:

You guys act as if teams like the Lions, Browns, Raiders etc. have no good players whatsoever on their team. They do. Pool is not a Wilson. He's a coverage FS. I would gladly take Pool the player, but I'd have to pass because the concussions is a big red flag

I never said they don't have any good players, I said the cast offs. So unless they cut S. Rodgers, Cribbs, D. Jackson, Wright, Wimbley, Calvin Johnson, Petigru, McFadden, Bush, Vargas, Oak TE whose name escapes me. I have no interest in guys they are not protecting or cutting.

Just because they've allowed a player to hit FA doesn't mean he isn't a good player though. Pool is a good player, and easily an upgrade. I wouldn't take him because of his concussions and chances are Cleveland will probably match anyways, but when you consider his on field play, I'd gladly take this Cleveland "cast off".

Pool like Jake Grove is a player with a injury history and I just don't think those are upgrades. Pool's problem is even worse, he is one concussion away from serious neurological problems. That sucks because he is a young guy and you hate to see anyone go out like that.

Generally speaking a rebuilding team would not let a young up and coming player hit the free agent market unless there was a problem. Well except the Raiders all bets are off on the stupid crap Al Davis is capable of!

That's pretty much what I said. You made it sound as if Pool just isn't a good player.

He is not great, and he is not bad. Like I said before I had all the Browns games on one of my team as part of a on going war between my uncle and I. In his defense it is pretty hard to find a bright spot on such a bad defense, but if you troll thebrownsboard you won't find any of their fans upset he is leaving. Funny though they want to sign GERBIL as a upgrade and no I am not messing with you!

Really good player, pity about the concussion history. If not for that no way the Browns would give him a decent tender, they are gambling no one will want him with the history.
1 more and he is done, if he isn't already considering it.

Yea like its already been said, there is talk he may never play again. To bad, but because he is a decent player at a young age.

Marvin, I think he's had 3 or 4 at Cleveland and 1 at Oklahoma.
