KC Joyner: Dansby not much better than Akin Ayodele

Look, I want an upgrade at WR as much or more than anyone here. But the fact of the matter is, there zero FA WR worth going after.
The only WR available are of the RFA variety. And I don't think this regime is willing to give up the #12 pick (Marshall, Vincent, etc) or multiple middle round picks (Boldin).

 

Are you willing to give up the 12th pick for Brandon Marshall?
Were you willing to give up a 3rd and 4th for Boldin?

 

Absolutely. He's a great WR, baggage and all. If we're willing to draft Dez Brant, why not take a guy who has proven he can play in this league. It might cost a little more, but worth it to get a known commodity.

If we could have received their 5th like Baltimore did, yes.

 

Problem is we both know this regime would never do either.

 

Looking at those stats, we should have kepy AA and rid ourselves of Crowder.

Could you add Crowders numbers in there. Just curious.

Nothing saying Crowder is here for good either, they could still draft McClain and keep Crowder for another year. As much as I dislike Crowder I still think he is the lesser of two evils compared to Akin.

 

exactly sports is more than just numbers, if you watched AA all year, you know how incredibly poor of a LB he is...which sucks cuz he is a good guy..

 

Akin was not a good player. Porter is a one trick pony. All he can do is rush the passer and talk trash, and he wasn't that good at either last season. He also can't get off blocks. Dansby will be a definite upgrade, for sure. But who knows if his production ends up matching what he's being paid. As much as everyone wanted to see a big play receiver get that money, there is no question that there was something seriously wrong with the defense last season. Wasn't just the LB's, but they were a big part of it. Now the question is....who does Miami draft with the first round pick? Dez Bryant?
