http://www.ironmaiden.com/index.php?categoryid=8&p2_articleid=1184 Gonna have to check out the LA show, it's at the San Manuel theater in San Bernadino, which is actually a pretty cool venue. Saw that Judas Priest / Heaven and Hell tour last year there. Anyway... title Final Frontier makes me think it's the last album... doh...
Monday, July 12th at Madison Square Garden. Maiden and Dream Theater on the same bill. I can die now.
hope everyone got good seats today at the presale... i'm going to the LA show in San Bernardino. Got "orchestra pit GA" but so did many others. That must be a really big pit section. IROHVXNXHP is the presale password if anyone needs it. ticketmaster... you can still get the same tickets I did for the LA show if you get on right now.

Maiden doesn't make very many stops in Florida unfortunately, one of the main reasons I've never seen them live.
Phins28 beat me to it. I just got the email this morning about the new song with the link, anyone can download from the official IronMaiden.com site. Very cool. Just heard the song, it's interesting... different... yet similar... like the riff, they didn't do too much of that on the last album. Less than two weeks until the San Bernardino show! Going to be a giant pit in the middle with assigned seating around it... that will be interesting.... Now I need to get the song on my IPhone so I can listen on the drive in...
What's funny about the lack of FL dates is that Nicko lives in Florida. Maybe he doesn't want his family showing up to the gig...
I have to say honestly... that I'm not too high on the new song. Comparing it to their average song, I would say it's below average. Anyone hear the new Rush songs? I would rate Caravan below average for them, but BU2B is AMAZING!
Maiden... clap clap clap... Maiden... clap clap clap... Maiden... clap clap clap... t minus 22 hours and counting for me... Hoping for a good spot in the pit at San Bernardino... looks like FTTB isn't working there... but they have these things called fast passes that lets you jump the line for $5 per ticket thru Live Nation... not sure about that... eh....
They were friggin' awesome as always....woulda liked more of the older stuff but they still kicked ***!
Okay, how effin' cool is this. I get an email from a friend of mine who knows someone who works at EMI. He forwarded this to me, check this out: Ho. Lee. SHOOT! I sent the shots and made it CLEAR I want the boys to sign my dashboard. he replied that it's in their hands and he can't promise anything but he'll see what happens. Can you imagine if I can get pix of Maiden with my car?
Wow, talk about a dream come true. I never actually "met" the band, but I did get Steve Harris' wristband one time on the rail for a show. not that I got the wristband but how I got it... After him throwing it directly at me and me doing my best Ted Ginn impression (dropping it into the space between the rail and the stage) he taps the shoulder of the security guard standing right there and tells him to give it to me... yeah, I was like a 17 year old girl in the front row at an Elvis concert...
yeah, but you're in the industry... it's to be expected that you can get backstage. The closest i got to backstage was some big black security guard telling me I'd better turn around or he's going to stick his foot up my ***. "isn't this the way to the bathroom?"
No bro...I may play, but I'm not even in the same zip code as those guys. I got my pass from a friend of a friend of a friend.
Heh... to be honest, I wouldn't know what to say to any of them now... I mean back in my teens, dry humping one of their legs would have been a good start, now? We'd probably talk about our kids. Steve's (Lauren?) has her own band that opened up for Maiden a few years ago. Watching her on stage was very strange. She's quite attractive, yet it's like looking at a cousin really.
Well when I met him I shook his hand and thanked him and told him that thanks to him I'm not a doctor or a lawyer. He looked at me and said "What?" Then I told him he was the reason I'm still playing bass. He smiled and said... "Sorry, mate!"
They absolutely ruled Monday night. So did Dream Theater. listening to the new album... not released officially in the USA till the 17th. but I got the preordered digital version, scheduled for 16th release... and I guess that means 12:01am UK time... wooooooohoooooo! This is one of the best weekends ever.. Rush Friday night, 2nd row right in front of Alex, best Rush show I've ever been to, the closest too, no coincidence... Dolphins preseason opener on Saturday... Liverpool FC regular season opener today... and now Maiden's new album, I'm exhausted... Spoiler just on my first listen... thru Mother of Mercy... very different sounding album... loving the Adrian Smith influences....
I'm only on my second listen thru. Like most Maiden albums, I'm expecting it to get better and better the more you listen to it. Spoiler The songs on the first half of the album are a bit more Bruce Dickinson-ish than Iron Maiden. Coming Home sounds straight from his last solo album. Satellite 15, the beginning of that song... my initial reaction was something akin to the first time I heard Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son (particularly Can I Play With Madness). I think I like the second half of the album better, love the longer songs / epics, always have. But I haven't hit them on my second listen thru yet...
