Trust me...I remember that post. the 1953 D-league championship....the purple seats...the team named after underwear...yeah..some of my finest work. LOL!

Barry Jackson is layin' it DOWN:

Exactly, but in fairness Haslem can and does step up, but he is not really the cat you want with the rock late in the game..

    Kobe has a short memory.

he WAS Wade 3 years ago.

all that ends in July. Wade will get his "Odom" and "Gasol".

After getting a borderline flagarant Wade runs up the stairs and pumps the crowd up, yeah he clearly wants to leave.

Wade & Beasley finally had a moment! How beautiful.

I was at the game tonight... at one point, Wade grabbed Beasley in the huddle and was screaming at him. It didn't look like he was cursing him out or anything, it looked like one of those Alonzo Mourning screams. Kind of like he was trying to encourage him and get his head in the game. Beasley comes out, scores 7 straight points, they go back to the sidelines after an ATL time out, and Wade grabs Beasley... you could read his lips on the jumbotron... "That's what the **** I'm talking about! YOU CAN DO THIS."

Where's Diddy with his "no *****assness" slogan? I am taking Erik Spoelstra's side with this. The guy under performs big time and it begins to cost the team and gets benched, so he disappears on the rest of his teammates due to his own poor play? Don't want that attitude on my team. Rafer Alston, you are 33 years old. You are supposed to be a guy that the younger players can look up to. A mentor. What kind of example are you setting for a rising star like Michael Beasley, that if he sucks for basically an entire month and gets demoted, he should quit the team and walk away? GTFOH. Always loved Rafer Alston... pretty much just lost ALL respect for him. Rafer alston has been in this league for how long? He's never been a superstar. He should know that when you are a slumping role player and those behind you are playing well, you sit that *** on the bench until you get some confidence back. Come on, man.

It's OK. This team has one legit half decent point guard aside from Dwyane Wade and that is Carlos Arroyo. He's playing very well. Statistically had a poor game tonight, but I feel a certain level of comfort when Arroyo is bringing the ball up the court and setting the offense. He's calm and collected and rarely ever forces something that is not there. Not so much with Alston, and DEFINITELY NOT AT ALL with Mario Chalmers (hate to admit it but he's a two guard). We will not miss Alston.

That is less than optimal, Alston literally came from street ball into the NBA and I hate to see it end like this as I always thought he had a ton of heart.

Hope he was just taking one for the team and retired just to clear space, I still can't believe he is pulling the plug after how well he played last yr in the Magic's playoff run.

Now on the flipside, Alston bowing out does create a roster slot for someone heading into the playoff push, and Arroyo has been playing well lately.

Amare Stoudmire is still talking about joining the Heat.

Word is that it will happen in a sign and trade due to Bird Right implications, which would suggest ANOTHER pretty big move to go down to go along with Signing Amare and retaining Wade.

That is WHY it is important that we put on a decent showing in the playoffs..a 7 game loss to a contender like Orlando would do the trick..or better yet..beat Atlanta or Boston and move onto the second round.

it is not about the MEGA stars that we will sign. it is about all the role players we can attract at league minimum. (Raja Bell, etc..)

the lower level FA's have to feel that by signing a minimum contract, that they will be coming along for a championship ride and auditioning for a multi year extension.

it is becoming rather clear to me that Amare will be a Heater and Bosh will stay in Toronto.

That is not even an option, IMO.

Pat Riley and Dwyane Wade took some serious shots at him today at the fan fest.

Wade basically questioned his manhood (of course without saying his name)

Doubt they'd of went about it that way if Alston was doing any favors, so to speak. Pat Riley rarely ever calls players out in the media in a negative light unless he's trying to light a fire under their asses, which wouldn't be a reasonable case with Alston suspended indefinitely.

Don't have a link, sorry. I saw the interviews on Channel 7's Sports Extra.

I want Atlanta in the worst way after last year... still pissed about Wade not being 100% in Game 4 of that series. Atlanta was flat in that game and they beat us in Miami. There's no way that ever happens with a healthy Dwyane Wade. We'd of won that game easily and went on to win it in 6. I want Atlanta.

Just off the rip without putting anything into it, the way I think we'd stack up to the top 4 in the East:

Cleveland: Get swept, maybe win one at home. Ugly series. They'd blow us out in every game @Cleveland.
Orlando: Take it to at least six, maybe seven with a shot to win it but probably not. Competitive, though.
Boston: Lose in five or six with every game coming down to the wire. It's always like that against them. A series we'd leave feeling like it could have been the other way around. Every game.
Atlanta: Win in six. Dwyane Wade completely goes off in this series. I'm talking 06 Finals fashion.

In an ideal world Miami gets Atlanta in the first round where the winner is set up to play Orlando. That would give us a shot to be competitive throughout with optimism going in.

If we get out of the first round there is no chance Wade leaves. If we face off against Orlando in the first round and it's at least competitive, I'd feel the same. Another series loss to Atlanta, getting dominated by Cleveland or Boston, or flat out missing the playoffs is as close as it gets to "trouble" although I firmly believe Wade stays regardless.

WTF is Udonis Haslem at center? He's getting KILLED in the paint. ABSOLUTELY KILLED.

Charlotte's got 42 points in the paint in this game. More than half of their 4th Q points are in the paint, and we still don't have a guy out there that is REMOTELY CAPABLE of challenging a shot? Come on. This is elementary.

Haslem / Beasley on the floor at the same time always spells disaster. And we've got them on the floor together in crunch time. Great!

So Michael Beasley wins us the game in the 4th Q against Atlanta... couple of days later he's benched in the 4th quarter for Udonis Haslem.

How can anyone honestly defend this horrendous decision making? It's a joke!

And guess who threw up one of those... THE GREAT UDONIS HASLEM!

Haslem better get the max next year. He's obviously our franchise player.

I cannot believe we benched Beasley in crunch time for Haslem again, especially after all he did for us against Atlanta.

Beasley deserves the pass to have a media outbreak in T.O. fashion. I will support him if he does.

    **** ERIK SPOELSTRA.

I say that with all my heart and passion for this organization now. ALL OF IT.

Well, I don't mind Udonis with the ball in crunchtime...I do mind the 3 pt tries, they should have fed the ball into the paint and at least had a shot at drawing a foul, the 3pt tries let Charlotte off the hook.

Poor poor shot selection, at least let DWade drive for the hoop.

Did anyone watch the game against Atlanta? Michael Beasley is the only reason we came out on top. He was absolutely clutch. I believe he made 8-9 straight points in the final stretch to take and keep the lead. And this idiot still goes back to Udonis Haslem one game later? What a joke. The funny thing is, Haslem played extremely poor tonight... he was getting torched in the paint. He was the main reason why Charlotte scored 42 points in the paint.

I love Udonis Haslem, but he has a role on this team. Pat Riley knew how to use him how he was meant to be used. That role should never intervene with Michael Beasley being in the game in crunch time. Never. Unless he's injured or in foul trouble, NEVER. To anyone who wonders why at times Michael Beasley's confidence seems shot or at least in question... in the words of Dave Chappelle aka Tyrone Biggums, "well, look no further feller you found it!"

Glad I'm not alone with this one. Pretty much everyone who has defended Spoelstra on the Heat boards all year... are finally calling him out for this garbage. It's unacceptable that your second best player is NEVER on the floor in crunch time. Maybe a handful of close games this season he's been trusted, and he's come up big when given the opportunity. I DO NOT GET IT.

I actually defended Spo from time to time with this because I understood the concern defensively in certain situations, but this is just too much now. We're talking about a situation where we are down and need points badly. A situation where everyone, including Dwyane Wade, is struggling to score. Why is your second best scorer / player on the bench? No, don't bother to answer. It will go unheard because whatever the answer comes out to be is bull.

I can honestly see Miami in a tied game with LAL in the 2011 NBA Finals... 86-86 with 2 minutes to go. Amare Stoudemire subs out, Udonis Haslem subs in. That would not surprise me in the least bit. My eyes would remain blinking regularly.

Spoelstra started the 4th with JO as the offensive focus with Beas and Wade out instead of making Beasley the focus and sitting JO so he can bring in Beasley in the 4th.

he then gave JO a rest and moved Haslem to center because Charlotte put Diaw at center. He tried to get away with it. it didn't work. he then came back with JO out of necessity.

As far as Haslem having a a "horrible" night. he had the same night as Beasley. Check the boxscore.

Beasley got the hook after blowing a rotation on Diaw. I would have hooked Haslem and used Beasley in his place because Haslem wasn't particularly hot like he was against the Lakers.

Wade was horrible in the 4th. he puts up his AVERAGE in the 4th...we win. They defended, we missed shots and we got hosed on calls. So we lost.

Anyway..time to move on..everybody is losing tonight, no ground lost except Charlotte draws close.

We got a 5 game home stand coming where we will be favored in likely EVERY game.

    Let's go get this five.

4:47 Dwyane Wade makes free throw 1 of 2 75-73
4:47 Dwyane Wade makes free throw 2 of 2 76-73

Get ready to apologize to SPO.

Dwyane WADE...yeah..that guy..Is the one keeping Beasley on the bench in the 4th quarter.

According to Jorge Sedano, Dwyane Wade requested in December that he be given Haslem to close games. He has waved off Beasley 3 times in the last 2 weeks.

So Not only does Wade run our Front Office and scouting...he is the coach now too.

We need to get his extension out of the way, so we can either let Spo coach how he wants to coach, or get a guy in there that won;t let Wade tell him what to do.

NO WONDER Wade wanted Spo as the coach. he wanted his "boy" in there so he can push him around and tell him what to do.

it is a VERY delicate situation.

We have to kiss his *** till he extends. But it is time for Riley to sit down with Wade and tell him that he is hurting Beasley's confidence and the best thing for the team is to have Beasley play down the stretch in some of these games.

The aggressiveness that he displayed in getting the first offensive foul and then taking 26 foot bombs when the aggressiveness he had in the first place was warranted.

They weren't going to call him for a charge late in that game. he could have barreled into the lane. Just like Lebron does.

Exactly, which is why those 3 pt shots were mind boggling, drive to the hole for pete's sake and score or draw the foul.

That is NBA 101 "how to win close games when you have two possessions inside 1:14 to go"

When your "star" isn't making decisions such as that, what is the coach supposed to do? Go Jeff VanGundy on them and become a dust mop to get them out of the game?

HiDef's brain would boil in cranial fluid if Spo pulled Wade in the 4th qtr for playing like a rookie.
