This caught me by surprise. I would have thought as a backup but not this far back. What do you guys/gals think about this? Good move? Bad move? What say you? http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/03/09/1519723/the-pennington-plan-has-vet-as.html
I think that if Henne really goes down, it doesn't matter where he is on the depth chart. The only thing that would hold him back is how his shoulder is coming along. Add that to the other two (for now White is a QB) QBs needing as many snaps as possible.
I still wonder if he will be a coach after he is done. Maybe that is not in his future. Don't know. I am shocked that he wouldn't be Henne's backup though.
True. Very true. I wonder will they trade or release Pat White by the end of the offseason if they don't convert him into a receiver??
All it means is we are still going to be using the patcat... So they will have Henne 1st and White 2nd then Pennington taking Thigpens place from last year being 3rd/emergency QB. Kind of disappointed though, was hoping we would get away from the Patcat next year after what happened in the Steelers game. I also think it hurts Henne having to constantly come out, it would screw up any QB's rythm let alone a rookie in his second year starting. I'd say it's highly likely Thigpen get's traded if that's the case though. Edit: After reading through the article seems like they want to do it to develop Thigpen but i'm not buying it LOL Seems more like smoke screen to me, guess we will find out eventually. I do hope i'm wrong.
