Pretty sure Marino scored a 15? No I'm not saying Tebow is/will be Marino, I'm just saying maybe it doesn't matter? Would be great to have sort of correlation graph between these scores and success in the NFL.

To pull that off would take a ridiculous 3D multi-axis dot graph. It would be a fun project, though.

Well they did show that the current trend is that the average score for a QB playing for a superbowl winning team the last few years has been a 30+.

I think stats like this are totally unimportant when singled out though. A great throwing mechanic and vision can well make up for "smarts" Just like smarts and a good throwing mechanic can help make up for vision, etc.

When you fail at multiple aspects is when you can see a potential bust in the making.

Tebow never really struck me as an intelligent person. Now i dont think he's dumb by any means, just around average.

For everyone who thinks this is a big deal remember that Henne got a 22 as well.

Not that Henne is perfect, but he also has a lot more physical tools to compensate with IMO.

I think the wonderlic is more of a guaging tool for teams to see how well the testee....( :shifty: )thinks and reacts (i.e. making good decisions as opposed to bad ones)under pressure. I dont think it is at all indicitive of there learning ability, capacity or the ability to play for that matter. Sometimes physical ability is all you need in this league. Good example of that would be Leon Lett. But then you see why sometimes you'd like the guy to make better decisions on the fly(i.e.Thanksgiving 1993).

Dan Marino got a 15 and was rumored to be a drug user.....luckily for us he fell to the bottom of the first round. We may have had Todd Blackledge or Tony Eason at QB.

Actually, Henne and Tebow are comparable in the physical tools department, if anything Tebow is more athletic than Henne.

As for the Wonderlic, it doesn't have the capacity to show the ability to learn, it only measures thinking ability at the time of the test, not learning capacity.

Tebow doesn't have a very strong arm or a very accurate one. If you just want to say mobility is a tool...sure. But that isn't what I'm talking about.

His arm strength is fine, at the least above average, his problems stem from a lack of polish and a lack of recognition of defenses.

Alex Smith (San Fran) got a perfect score, right? I know it was very high. Point is, he sucks.

The wonderlic score is irrelevant in every way.

    Explain this to me please

How does Tebow do poorly on this test when he is in the Doctorate program at Flordia. Now don't go saying it's a joke of a program because at all schools for this program they haave similiar courses of studies. I'm jst saying..... I'm curious unless the test was based off of certain questions pertaining to the NFL

The Wonderlic Test has notorious weird questions, some verging on very disturbing. I think the point is to make a person uncomfortable in a pressure situation.

Clausen scored like a 23 and went to Notre Dame what does that tell you about them? Absolutely nothing

Lol, Tebow hasn't been known to exactly excel in standardized tests. He got something like an 860 on the SAT.

He should just stick to doing what he does best, circumcising little Filipino boys.

That just reminds me of Tebow's last game against the Seminoles and how they were trying to set up the jump pass at the goal line. He tried like 2 or 3 downs in a row. Thankfully he didn't succeed in completing it, but what a douche bag.

Needless to say, I hate the Gators and everything involving them.

Can't wait for Tebow to flop in the pros.

    Drew Henson had a 42 ,Dan Marino had a 16 .

It is a relevant item but obviously you cannot predict success or failure with it.

I hate the Gators and I don't think Tebow will do anything in the NFL really, but there's only one thing the WL is good for, if a player scores ridiculously low, more often then not I will stay away from that person in a position that needs smarts.

Also on that note, watching interviews from Tewbow, I've always thought he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Not saying he's dumb, just not smart, that's for sure.

The Wonderlic questions are not hard by any means, nor are they based on intelligence. They're questions designed to make you read all the way through, and focus. So they're tricky, so to speak. They're also timed. This is really the key.

Here's a couple of sample questions, just so you can get an idea:

Pretty easy question. In fact, one of the easiest.

    Another brain buster.

Here's a tricky one. Again, easy question, but because they're numbered, and October is strategically placed first, with Jaunary and June (two months your brain should recognize right away as early and mid months) you might choose 1. in a rush without thinking it through.

So basically, if you get a 22 or lower, your reading comprehension isn't great. Or, could be Tebow is a crappy test taker.
