How about a trade of Ted Ginn and our 2nd rounder for Marshall? Haven't seen this talked about much, but it would be a great trade! Get a proven reciever, then keep our 1st round pick!

Just me, but I'd give them the 12, Ronnie and Ginn for Marshall and their 2.

Take LaGarrette Blount with their 2, take Pitta or Gronk or Jimmy Graham with our 2, and you have as good a top of a draft as we've ever had; maybe the best ever.

I don't even think this trade would work in Madden.

Why would they do that when they could have Seattle's 6th and draft Dez Bryant?

We're not getting Brandon Marshall. Time to let it go.

I totally agree with you, I cant though until 4/21....and if Seattle doesnt offer anything and he plays for Denver.....headscratcher man!!

I almost want the Pats to put an offer in, that would pretty much force Miami's hand....would they really let Marshall go to NE???

Because Seattle's not gonna give up the #6 overall pick for him. If they were, they'd have done it by now. I'm not saying the proposed trade in the OP makes any sense, but Seattle's not gonna give up the 6 for Marshall. Maybe trade the 14, but if they signed him to the offer sheet, they'd have to give up the 6.

    You're right. It doesn't

Seriously, while that sounds like a great deal for us, lets not forget that the folks in Denver are running a team the same way we are. They want a first round pick. They are not going to drop that to a 2nd just because we throw in Ted Ginn.

The Denver Post said the Broncos wanted at least a 6th overall pick, but Seattle doesn't seem to be budging. I don't see how Ginn and a 2nd would be a better offer.

As soon as the words "We'll give you Ginn and ....." are said, it's a dealbreaker.

    Pretty simple guys!

    1. We didn't take the WR who isn't a head case, Boldin for a third and a 5th while getting back a 4th.
    2. We didn't take the 2 WR who are head cases, Burleson and A. Bryant, but didn't cost us a draft pick

So I don't see our Fo who loves their draft picks going after the WR that would cost us our highest draft pick.

Not to mention reports Sat were that Denver wasn't happy with Seattle later first round pick they wanted their 6th over all pick.

:headwall: Time to say good bye to Marshall.

Well you're going to need to let it go sooner than 4/21 because the deadline to offer contracts to RFA's comes before that and we're not trading a 1st/2nd rounder on a player that isn't signed long term. Not to mention working a contract with Marshall will be difficult because they're not going to give him any normal contract, it would be incentive laden while Marshall will try to just get 30+ million in guaranteed from some other team.

Offer a second rounder and go from there. If Denver requires an additional pick in the 2011 draft then I'm all for it. PERSONALLY, I think Miami is best suiting fielding the situation out; if confident that no other team will pull the trigger on B Marsh between now and the draft, then WAIT and pick him up for pick(s) next year without giving anything up in this year's draft.

Otherwise, like I said, very rarely do you get value like B Marsh in the second round.

With this regime, we can all expect Phillip Merling or Pat White. Seriously. Not to sound all negative, and I still think Merling has the potential to be damn good, but that doesn't amount to B Marsh's productivity ONE BIT.

ACQUIRE THIS MAN BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY. STOP PLAYING GAMES.

If you believe that someone on our current roster is going to develop into a #1 WR then you're delusional. If not Dez Bryant, Bebe Thomas, Golden Tate, or Benn... WE NEED BRANDON MARSHALL.

You couldn't have said it any better. I was just throwing a option out there with the 2nd rounder plus Ginn. You just dont recreate talent like Marshall anymore. I know how the FO loves their picks, but how many times have you guys seen a team that just does the complete opposite of what is expected of them? Who would have thought the Bengals would have brought back Chris Henry three times (i believe it was this many times, i could be wrong).

But why bring him back so many times if he was making the same mistakes? If i remember correctly almost everyone would have said there is no way Chris Henry would come back.

They can still trade for him... like we did with Wes Welker to the Patriots.

We didn't trade Welker to the Pats. He was an RFA like Brandon Marshall and we placed a 2nd round tender on him. The pats made an offer and we didn't match thus we got a 2nd round pick. With the Jets being in the final four they cannot put in any bids on a RFA unless they lose one of theirs.

Edit: Retracted, For some reason I was still stuck on the second round tender we had placed on welker.

I just did, and for some reason I was stuck on the fact that they were going to match our tender!!!!!

PS. No reason for the multiple explication points.

I know we have until 4/15 to do it.....that when the deadline is for teams to sign a RFA to an offer sheet...

Marshall wouldn't sign an incentive laden deal, nor should he.....the guy is arguably one of the best receivers in the game...
