Well, Mr. Halpert is apparently the top candidate for the role, at least right now. http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/03/09/john-krasinski-is-the-top-choice-for-captain-america/ Hmm. Not sure how I feel about this one, honestly. I like Krasinski, but I don't know if he's bulky enough to pull off the role. My choices would have been Neal McDonough or Nathan Fillian, but that's just me.
I don't think it would work. I don't think he could lose the schtick. Captain America is not a funny guy. But in the superhero department, I could see him as Tobey Maguire's replacement as Spider-Man. He might just be perfect for that role.
Good point. I forget they are going to reset to high school days. That might be a stretch. But not as big a stretch as playing Captain American, IMO.
After watching how Heath Ledger pulled off the Joker, I reserve all judgment on Comic Book roles until I've seen the film. Honestly, who didn't laugh when they heard Heath got that role?
thats true, though ledger was a more accomplished actor and wasnt primarily known for a single facial expression lol
Well, aside from 'Ned Kelly', I wouldn't condider's Ledger's films anything that made him "accomplished". Even though '10 Things I Hate About You' was an awesome ****ing movie.
Can't imagine a twerpie play Captain America... He is supposed to be BUFF... He is supposed to be something we looked up to, not laugh at. I am getting tired of seeing those kind of ****ed up casts.... 1. Kingpin a black guy... 2. Nick Fury a black guy too..... 3. Venom... Terrible Terrible..... Oh well... There's nothing I can do, huh?
1 and 3 I agree with you on, but 2 I have no problems with. The casting of Samuel L. Jackson makes sense because they're basing it on the Ultimates comics version of Nick Fury ... who just happens to be black and based on ... Samuel L. Jackson.
Well, you can apparently scratch Jim off .. http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/03/09...ike-vogel-and-garrett-hedlund-in-the-running/
1. Can you think of a white guy who could play the Kingpin better than Ving Rhames? 2. Ultimates Nick Fury looks exactly like Samuel L. Jackson. 3. Venom I also not not agree. The anti-Peter Parker was a great take on the boring character of Venom. Venom is perfect for a comic book where all you have to do is look cool and be bad ***, however for an actual movie that kind of character is boring as a main protaganist.
I read comics and I have very big collection of comics mostly from 70's to early 90's... I know comics. 1. The movie's Kingpin is too buff. I can't think of a person that can fit Kingpin perfectly but I am sure there is one. The point is nowhere there is a black Kingpin. He is always a big and heavy man, not muscular one. 2. Yes, you are right that Fury is black in Ultimate. I don't like Ultimate. 3. Wait, Venom boring??? I don't understand that and can't see how people would think Venom being boring... You ever read Venom comics?
