Just something fun to mess around with. http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft10/features/draftmachine/ Here was what I came up with- 1. Rams - Sam Bradford, QB 2. Lions - Gerald McCoy, DT 3. Bucs - Suh, DT 4. Redskins - Okung, OT 5. Chiefs - Eric Berry, S 6. Seahawks - Anthony Davis, OT 7. Browns - CJ Spiller, RB 8. Raiders - JPP, DE 9. Bills - Bryan Baluga, OT 10. Jags - Derrick Morgan, DE 11. Broncos - Rolando McClain, ILB 12. Fins - Dez Bryant, WR 13. 49ers - Trent Williams, OT 14. Seahawks - Jimmy Clausen, QB 15. Giants - Brandon Graham, De 16. Titans - Joe Haden, CB 17. 49ers - Everson Griffin, DE/OLB 18. Steelers - Mike Iupati, OG 19. Falcons - Sean Weatherspoon, OLB 20. Texans - Earl Thomas, FS 21. Bengals - Jermaine Gresham, TE 22. Pats - Sergio Kindle, OLB 23. Packers - Bruce Campbell, OT 24. Eagles - Carlos Dunlap, DE 25. Ravens - Kareem Jackson, CB 26. Cardinals - Brandon Spikes, ILB 27. Cowboys - Jared Odrick, DE 28. Chargers - Ryan Mathews, RB 29. Jets - Golden Tate, WR 30. Vikings - Devin McCourty, CB 31. Colts - Brian Price, DT 32. Saints - Dan Williams, DT
I like them both but Bryant's size and physicality is something that we need within our WR corps right now. Tate, although physical for his size, is still too close to what we already have on our roster. That said, if by some divine intervention, we could have Tate fall to 43, I would welcome him with open arms.
I did one too and we have a few the same: Bradford Okung JPP Bulaga Morgan Bryant Iupati E.Thomas Gresham Overall, a pretty solid mock. Personally, I don't see Cleveland going with Spiller, especially after Harrison's breakout at the end of last season. I also think Seattle takes Clausen, just with their earlier pick.
If you draft a WR in round 1 you expect him to be your go-to-guy, IMO. doesnt matter if it's 12 or 29. Ted Ginn at 9 ring a bell?
The Browns were seriously like the hardest to decide. I would've gave them Dez had they not spent 2 2nds on WRs last year. Spiller is a top 8 talent IMO and while they might not go offense in rd 1, Harrison is not a reason to not take Spiller. The KC game really threw off his yearly totals (both yards and ypc), and I think it really gives a false impression if you just look at yearly totals. I think Chester Taylor was better than Harrison for example, but that didn't stop the Vikes from taking AP (I don't think Spiller is as good as AP, but the gap between he and Harrison is at least as great as AP and Taylor).
Im interested in the Lions - youve got to think they will take a very very very hard look at Okung now.
My thinking is that since Detroit has signed Corey Williams, it essentially eliminates McCoy from contention since they are a very similar style. That said, with a defensive minded HC who has a history of creating pressure with a dominant defensive line, I think Suh is the pick. I don't think they go OT b/c that means that they give up on former 1st rounders Cherilus and Backus.
Yea, I have to agree with you that Cleveland was hard to project. For such a pitiful team, they didn't have many glaring holes to fill. That said, with Holmgren at the helm, I feel like they will pretty much go value, regardless of position. In my mock, value came in the form of Eric Berry who I had ranked higher than Spiller. As for Spiller, I see your point. I don't think Harrison is head and shoulders above Spiller, but I do think that their styles are too similar. Some would view that as a good thing, but I would tend to lead toward a bigger back such a Matthews, Blount, or C.Scott to compliment what they already have. Look at what Seattle had when Holmgren was in charge: A scat back in Forsett, an all-around back in Julius Jones, and a bruiser in TJ Duckett.

I absolutely LOVE Golden Tate, but he wont and shouldnt go in in the first round. Dez Bryant is in an entirely different league in regards to talent and abilities. IF we dont get Bryant at 12, I certainly hope we take Tate with the 2-11. Closer to the truth is we probably wont do either and will still have the same WR's as last year.
I can see Tate going in the later part of the round really - the Jets would be a great fit for him. Great complement to Edwards. San Diego I think lost 2 WRs as well.
I completely agree with Spiller to Browns, but I don't see Clausen getting by Buffalo or Jax. I think McClain will slip due to Chrohns disease. Good mocks though.
