Don't click on his link if you don't want the ending ruined:
In a nut shell, he's actually not a real US Marshall investigating a disappearance and then a cover up. He's been in the mental hospital for over 2 years after he killed his wife for killing their 3 kids, which made him flip out and deny he ever did anything. Him being the marshall was all in his head and part of a role playing game the doctors used on him do to try to snap him back into reality. That part of the story was a bit of a surprise and a good one but him being crazy and making it up in his head was the obvious part.

I never even heard of The Messenger until last night, and the few clips they showed it looks pretty good. I want to see it.

    Actually

He really was a Marshall before he was committed to the mental hospital.

Yes you're correct, I should have said:
he was never a US Marshall on the island
    Good pick up, thank you.

I had a Yuengling (think it may have been a bottle) maybe a few years ago. Seems not bad, though nothing great either.

I've never had Dogfish. It's up there with Stone Brewing and 3 Floyds of beers I wish I could get, but they don't reach me via distribution, even KC, which usually gets everything.

Considering that distribution is owned by Budweiser and Miller/Coors, perhaps that isn't all that surprising.

Very good movie and really enjoyed it. Just wish Hollywood would have cut out the scene where Sandra Bullock calls the Coach on his cell phone during the game to give him tips (which would have never happened ever in real life).

Stone seems intent on brewing the maltiest beers possible; not my style at all.

Dogfish, on the other hand, has the market cornered on IPAs; also, they re-create historical beers based on forensic analysis of drinking vessels from thousands of years ago.

Yeungling is simply a good inexpensive lager, still made the right way with the four ingredients specified in the Reinheitsgebot.

Just got around to watching "A Serious Man", the Coen Brothers' Oscar nominated pic:

Really liked it even though it was billed as a dark comedy and it wasn't really that. It has a really good ending. As they have done in the past, the character and theme development is more important than the details of the story itself.

Lots of things open to interpretation, which I personally enjoy, but I think there is a clear statement about life.

Capitalism: A Love Story - I know that Micheal Moore isn't everyone's cup of tea, as he can sometimes be overly preachy and films things through a decidedly liberal slant. That said, the film is very fun to watch and you can't stop watching. Sadly, it simply confirms some of my worst fears over the recent economic mess. The highlight of the film, at least for me, was the footage of FDR proposing a "Second Bill of Rights" in 1944 that included, among other things, the right to a home, steady job, education, vacation, and health care. The footage was actually discovered by Moore while filming the movie. 4.5 of 5 stars.
