Well, if you listen to the broadcast, it sounds even worse. I sense a bit of tension when he said he put 45 points on him last time they met. But he said and i quote"he is not an NFL quarterback", so that could simply mean that he does not play in the NFL, not that he isn't an NFL caliber QB (which he isn't and will most likely not become). So no biggy Chad didn't say anything out of place here, just the media making something out of nothing.

Plus Tim Tebow= Pat white in 2-3 years

They asked him his opinion, and he stated it, I don't think that makes him a jerk.

Not everyone likes Tebow as an NFL Quarterback. I don't know enough to think he'll be good one way or the other, but there's a reason he isn't going in the 1st round. Because right now, the majority thought is that he does not look like an NFL Quarterback. That takes nothing away from his skills as a college QB though.

He is entitled to his opinion just like everyone else.

Fortunately criticized players get a chance to prove their critics wrong on the field.

The only thing that concerns me, albeit not much...is this, and before speaking up about getting a number one receiver...while these aren't bad...is he talking a little now, and if the FO doesn't say anything, does he start yapping about contracts and more troubling things....

honestly Chad hasnt done jack in the NFL to be talking about another kid....

as Kevin Millar so eloquently put it when he was with the Red Sox, "He doesnt have enough dirt in his cleats to be talking at me".......love that line

I love the last line of his article:

Is he kidding me? So now he's openly rooting against Chad Henne it seems based on an opinion he gave when forced to answer a question. Give me a break.

Like someone else said in a response to that article. That's why a lot of people like Belichick and Tiger Woods are now giving cliche, cookie cutter answers every time they get asked a question.

I hope Tebow winds up in the AFCE too. This way we'll have 2 sure wins every year.

I just believe it really was a jerk statement.
    The correct anwser would be:
"With his current mechanics I don't see him making it, but I know he is working hard, and I would never bet against Tim Tebow's work ethic."

I know there is not much merit with a comment like this from Chad Henne because he certainly is not a premeir player in the NFL. Just imagine it someone like Peyton would have said this. It would be headline news everywhere.
I just do not beleive its right for NFL players to publically downgrade someone who has yet to be drafted. I would allow the public mockery of your opponents, but even that is taboo in the NFL.
It's the media/scouts/FO's job to analyze and scrutinize. Players should not go public with a statement about someone they are about to welcome to thier elite fraternity. He could have easily ducked the question. Behind closed doors is an absolutely different story, but not to the public.

    In conclusion:
    The jerk store called Chad,
they're all out of you. :knucks:

    Couple of things.

First, I hope this doesn't become a big thing. Chad was asked a question and he gave his honest opinion. It wasn't a good thing to say but it wasn't awful either. It's not like he said "Tebow sucks and will never amount to anything in the NFL."

With that being said, I am SHOCKED Chad Henne would say this. He's been the ultimate class act and professional since he came into the NFL. Always has a great attitude.

This one comment won't change my opinion on him. He still comes off as a class act to me. I've seen and heard too much from him to think otherwise.

NE or the Colts, a perfect place for Tebow to sit and learn for the first 3 or 4 years of his career. Anyone remember A. Rogers here sitting 4 years behind a probowler and then being good right out of the gate. I'm not so sure I'm willing to bet against Tebow, the guy is a winner and at least one QB of some small fame seems to think Tebow will be great; Peyton Manning. I tend to listen to Manning over our own Chad Henne plus Chad didn't put up those points all by himself. As for two wins a year sorry not happening against a Billy boy team any time soon.

As far as I know, Tebow has never taken a snap in the NFL.

Therefore, he is not an NFL QB.

Actually Chad Henne almost single-handed beat Florida in a bowl game when he was at Michigan if I remember correctly. I watched the game. Henne was superb, Tebow was mediocre that day.

On the surface it doesn't make Henne look very good, or very professional IMO (assuming I'm not taking the comments out of context). Having said that, and other than being somewhat disappointed in him for not taking the high road, I don't think it will (or should) snowball into anything.

That what bothers me most about this. Everything else I've heard from Henne has been positive. Always saying the right things, being very professional, etc. I don't want people to look down on him for this one little comment, when in fact Henne is a class act.

Something seems weird about it. It's known that Parcells is a big fan of Tebow. The Dolphins QB coach has put in a lot of time with Tebow. Then Henne very uncharacteristically says this. Could be a smokescreen, it just seems very out of character and unclassy for Henne to needlessly slam Tebow as an NFL QB prospect.

I wonder what Henne's opinion of Pat White is?

And that should be the only reason to frown upon his comments. Basically by saying that he's saying Pat White, a teammate, isn't an NFL QB.

That said, Henne is not the first to say this about Tebow. However, he should've worded it differently.

We all LOVE when professional athletes speak their mind. Then we kill them for it.

Henne also pointed out that he beat Tebow's Gators in a bowl game.

The thing about Tebow is, he could make it in the NFL as a Qb, heck if Leftwich can make it, he could, but Leftwich was a more accurate passer than Tebow.

Which is sort of a part of the problem, people tend to WANT Tebow to succeed, more than any Qb prospect I've seen in a long time, possibly ever.

Henne did say, “The only take I have on Tim Tebow is us beating them in the Capital One Bowl” before making the big quote. Was there any bad blood between Michigan and UF at the time? Or was it just Michigan having to go into Gator-friendly territory as a big underdog?

I don't think that is the correct answer. It is the politically correct answer. I think Chad was giving his honest opinion about it when asked, and that is okay. He does need to learn when to give the politically correct answer though. Especially, since he has barely started playing in the league himself.

Chad Henne can hang his hat on one lousy bowl game, while Tim Tebow will forever be one of the greatest college players of all time.

I'm sure Tebow (if given the chance) can lead a team to third place in the division just like Henne did in his pro debut.

I dont getting into college football the way people across America do...partly because there is no good teams around here, however I do watch the games to keep up with prospects...

that being said honestly what is not to like about the kid seriously?? Even though he isnt the greatest talent per se, he is a winner, love his attitude, his leadership, he undoubtedly will be picked higher than he should because some teams will fall in love with him..he is polished

Growing up in Florida I can understand your love for Tebow, but he has a long way to go before he can even be considered an NFL quarterback. He spent 4 years at Florida running a spread offense with horrible throwing mechanics. He mechanics where so bad coming out that he refused to throw at the combine and spent the next several weeks trying to correct years worth of mistakes. The reviews of his pro day where mixed. Scouts said he looked good while others said that as he grew tired they could see him reverting back to his old style.

One of the other things that made Tebow great in college was his ability to run with the ball. Now I dont want to bet against Tebow and I will forver wish him the best of luck as long as he doesn't land on an AFCE rivals roster, but I dont think he has the speed or the elusiveness to be successful running the ball out of a conventional offense.

With all that said I do think he could have some success running a wildcat type offense in the NFL. So there will be a market for his skills. I also think that in time with his work ethic he can correct most of the glaring flaws in his throwing mechanics and become a decent NFL Quarterback.

I also wish that Henne had phrased what was said differently but truth be told he was being honest in his evaluation. I am however holding any further judgment until I can actually hear interview for myself.
