and what if that "someone" who got hurt was your family? Would you still be willing to let people who are not completely sober behind the wheel and controlling a 4,000lb moving object? And what's up with these fans on this board? Some guys are saying "I won't believe it until I see the report"? Are you kidding me?

In reference to his injury... Actually, the more I think about it, that's a really good point. I'm not saying he wasnt drinking at all, but I could see him maybe being off balance or stumbling/limping a bit if he was asked to walk a straight line and stuff given his knee/ankle/foot situation. Interesting to think about anyways... Its possible. Only time will tell i guess.

You mean cops instinctively know when to pull you over when you have a shattered foot? Because he did get stopped for something (swerving, speeding, under-speeding, recklessness)

I think the DUI is a good sign. His foot must be getting back to normal if he is driving around and taking it to parties. Gas pedal foot?

Seriously though: with the pain pills that he is probably on one drink would accelerate the buzz and make him appear drunk. Ronnie is a real gentleman and I wish him the best. Lets hope that he can get it reduced to an illegal formation penalty :-)

He needs that foot so he can put it in Rex Ryan's _ss

This just goes to show that even the best, most likeable characters can screw up sometimes. They're all human.

I'm not denying anything. I work with this stuff everyday. It is a fact that people get pulled over and arrested improperly all the time. It's also a fact that people get pulled over and arrested who are guilty. Since both things often occur and are possible, I'm not going to jump to the conclusion that only one occurred.

I'd like to see the cops on S FL start pulling people over for this. :-)

There'd be a LOT less traffic!

Not trying to be confrontational, but it is not BS as you call it. The police target any type of moving infraction during what is considered high drinking and driving times. Numerous people get pulled over and released with nothing more than a warning in efforts to prevent impaired drivers from killing or injuring other people. I am just as bothered by his arrest as anyone else, but will not rush to any type of condemnation of the police for doing their jobs or Ronnie Brown for this alleged infraction.

you already speculated that it could have been because of his injured foot that he failed the sobriety test yet you arent jumping to any conclusions
here is a speculation. ronnie was drunk
have you or anyone here ever been arrested for a traffic violation as minor as failure to use a signal. i havent
my guess is that is the basis for why the cop pulled him over
more than likely he was swerving

the comments in this thread are laughable
no one wants to believe that the precious ronnie brown could be caught drinking and driving
blame the cops, the foot injury, the meds
    wow the denial is comical

What is comical is how you think others comments and especially mine are defending him.

It's his first time EVER being arrested in his life and you act like he is a freaking axe murderer.

I'm wondering that if the charges get reduced (good chance they will) in the next couple of days, will you be saying how the cops let him off for some other reason that maybe he's not guilty of DUI....

    now that will be comical

You still never answered my question.......again

    Was he really arrested?
    http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...iami-dolphins-star-ronnie-brown-arrested.html

Perhaps he was detained and then released without actually being arrested or its all a mistake? Something doesn't add up. If he was arrested in Cartersville you would think the Captain of the Cartersville PD would know.

    Check out the updated story:
    http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...iami-dolphins-star-ronnie-brown-arrested.html

Seems like he may not even have been arrested after all.

"I’ve been researching this, and we have made no arrests of Ronnie Brown,” Captain Frank Cline of the Cartersville Police Department told me this morning. “I’ve checked with everybody, and nobody in Bartow County has had any contact with Ronnie Brown.”

    EDIT: Dang it Jackson! :)

This is getting crazy. What really happened?!?!

What are the "two sources" that reported this to the Herald anyway?

But if this never happened, wouldn't Ronnie or his agent or the team come out immedately and say, "these reports are completely untrue"?

Pretty sure theres this whole process of like a judge, couple lawyers, and some stupid thing called a jury of peers(whatever that is) before you can be called guilty. I dunno, i maybe mistaken.

I didn't speculate at all. All I did was show that there is more than one possible reason and that it is ridiculous to start calling RB an idiot or saying he was drunk until you have the facts.

Nobody has defended anything. All anybody has said is to wait for the facts until you jump to conclusions. I mean less than a year ago Vontae Davis was allegedly pulled over and arrested and it turned out to not even be him but somebody using his ID. You would think that the people who are attacking Brown without knowing the facts would have learned something from that.

I don't get all the overblown talk.A DUI is dam serious.

I know people that were killed by drunk drivers, and they very well could have been good people too (The drivers).

You get behind the wheel after drinking, you are not only putting your life on the line, but others.

Its just stupid. (and yes, we have all probably done it, I have too, and the next day I have thought how stupid and lucky I was)

If Ronnie was under the influence, he should consider himself lucky he didn't hurt anyone and learn from it. And the way I think of Ronnie, I think he will.

Yes it is serious, but we don't even know if we have an actual DUI on our hands here... We're coming to conclusions way too early especially when it's suspicion of DUI and the country sheriff said he knew nothing about it. It raises a few red flags is all.

    Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?

    So much of THIS.

If Ronnie was DUI, he needs to be punished, because it IS a big deal.

But, there is, apparently, no record of him being arrested at all. No mention of it on police blotters in the area after 48 hours. Definitely some red flags being thrown up all over the place.

To be fair, though, the police chief of Cartersville has a history with Ronnie. Could definitely be a red flag going the other way.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Depends on what you mean by punish. You don't just punish a person for a first offense when nothing is broken and no one is hurt. You scold his *** verbally and at the most make him take some course of action to better himself. All in the hopes that it does not happen again.

It's absolutely wrong to drink and drive. Not a doubt about what he did was stupid and, if drunk, he's lucky no one got hurt but that's when you hope a leason is learned........first!
