OK, found some more info. He indeed was arrested. Booking photo included
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/22/AR2010032203125.html

His mom confirms it in the article
So there we go, he was arrested for DUI and released several hours later. I would post the pic but don't know how to embed. If anyone else does feel free.

I'm disappointed. He needs to do better as the face of this team. Everyone makes mistakes though. Hopefully he lived and learned. Thankfully nobody was hurt.

You missed the point. It cuts down on the problems before the occur. We fix things after the fact here. Take a look at the percentages compared to our Country in which there is a death or accident. You also have to go to school for a couple of years to even drive. 18 year old kids there drink coke and study even though booze is legal for them.

why did he miss the point
    krypto was dead on

also most here were willing to give up excuses for why ronnie might have been arrested and now we know the facts. most didnt want to believe that ronnie brown could be arrested for dui. well it happened and it is a big deal although i hope he learns from his experience. in the initial report ronnie was described as being distraught. i knew then he had made a mistake

now back to hoping he can stay on the field

    A legitimate DUI is serious.

There is another side to this debate though that gets buried in under the legitimate concern over drunk driving.

I'll be the one to take a bullet on this and carry the flag of exposing truth.

It's unfortunate, but like just about everything else in the world, what started out as laws meant for good, they have been turned into laws of opportunity.

The "legal" drunk levels they've legislated are absurd.
The drunk driver laws have turned from something to take dangerous drivers off the road to a focus of flat out fund raising.

It's a proven fact from tests that have been run that at the lower levels of their "legally drunk" standards that your driving skills can be completely unaffected yet your entire life can be turned upside down and you deemed a degenerate.

I'm all for protecting people from dangerous drunk drivers but the direction the legal system has taken on this has switched to a focus on business rather than protection of the public.

If it comes out that he was driving recklessly then I'll be just as dissapointed, but if he really was pulled over for failing to use a turn signal which led to this, I'd have to hear what his alchohol level was to make a judgement.

That being said, the amount of money these guys make, they should just take a towncar or a cab wherever they go out where any drinking will be involved so they don't have to worry about this kind of stuff.

I have consumed many many many gallons of alchohol over the last 30 yrs or so, never drove after more than two tho.

The only time I was ever pulled over for DUI, I was weaving a bit I'll admit it, it was two am driving over the hill on the way home to the North Shore from Waikiki.

I hadn't had a drink in more that two weeks because we were out to sea on a long range fishing trip. I had been driving the boat into 8-12 seas for the last 16 hrs. I couldn't walk straight either so I failed the roadside test. Blew 0.00 on the machine, they went and got out the spare. Blew 0.00 on that one and they took me to another station. Even after blowing 0.00 for a third time the farkin cop wouldn't give me a ride back to my truck. Had to wait til 8 when the circle island bus came by.

Ronnie gets the benefit of the doubt for now, but drunk drivers are loser *** hats and if he's guilty I hope he pays the price, and then some.

And I would like to add my name into the hat for a staff driver position, I'll carry the weed, provide girls, dispose of evidence and clean up the puke. The pictures we'll just keep to ourselves...for now.

    probably legitimate claim:up:

Hint: When traveling in Cobb County it is always wise to keep several Benjamins on hand for "emergency situations"

Since Ronnie has been on the team, he's been one of my favorites, (just below Zach @ 1 & Marino & 2). Having said that........

......how effing hard is it to not drive after drinking?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

He has every resource available to him from stupid amounts of cash to any number of dolphin employees that could be sent to pick him up. Celebrities, more than the average guy, should never be in this situation.

I don't care if people think the laws are to strict or not, we all know what they are, so why risk your whole life (including health & career) and risking everyone else's you drive past?

Its just plain stupid and I'm severely disappointed in Ronnie.

FTR, she isn't. Ronnie has 2 "moms". He has a birth mother and a white woman who he considers to be his "other mother". The 2 moms are close friends and traveled together to see his college games.

ronnie browns mom certainly isnt very smart for stating that here son was arrested because he was black. um wtf he was arrested because he was drunk behind the wheel.
as for ronnie not hiring someone to drive his butt around that wasnt very smart either

looks like the apple doesnt fall far from the tree

Actually, I think she said he was pulled over or "targeted" for DWB (and had a nice car). Not arrested for it.

And you're making a generalization about her character based off one comment. We should all be so lucky to have a Mom who sticks up for us. Right or wrong.
