Believe it or not, The Mor turns 30 this July. Friends and myself have big plans for the event. the problem is: We can't make up our minds what to do. We've juggled several ideas. We've talked about: - Vegas - New York City - Puerto Rico - Mexico - Vancouver (don't ask) - North Carolina (wicked Motorcycle riding apparently) - Southern California We can't make up our minds. We have a good stock of cash, but obviously it isn't limitless or it'd be a euro trip. We kinda ruled out Vegas because it seems that all there is to do there is go clubbing and gable (I don't really like either). NYC looks good because 2 of my buds I'd be going with is from there. It'll be pricey though. I like the idea of Puerto Rico, but I lived there for 4 years when I was stationed there. I'm afraid on of my children will find me. Mexico seems awesome but none of us know very much about it besides crap from websites. I have a close friend in Vancouver than says it's ridiculous fun, but I need more opinions. North Carolina supposedly has some of the best motorcycle roads on earth, so we considered doing a road trip with the bikes in tow. And San Diego is where my other brother is stationed, so it seems like a good option. ok.... I need ideas and opinions. It doesn't have to be limited to my list here either.
stay out of mexico unless you want this to be your last birthday. edit: and dude you're not supposed to tow your bikes......
Also why not hit up a cruise? I hear the ones that include cozumel are usually a blast. lots of food and lots of booze plus **** to do on shore. Also it may be cheap since spring break has passed and its not summer yet.
If road trip is what you want, it's well worth it to go see some national monuments and parks. The Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse (not done yet, but still amazing and HUGE!!), Devil's Tower, and then go on over to Yellowstone. I did that a few years back with the family, and MAN is it cool stuff. Pictures simply cannot give you perspective on how these look in person. I know it's a little far for you, being from Miami and all, but I'm not kidding, bro. This **** will blow your mind, it's completely different than anything you'll ever see anywhere else in the world. Seeing these types of things will give you memories that will last a lifetime. It's FAR more memorable than going to a place for the nightlife, IMO.
goto vegas. you get annihilated at the pool all day and pick up chicks. then go to bars and clubs at night. sick bars and clubs i should add. and you gamble and eat in between. maybe do a show....maybe. its a site to behold, and every man should do it at least 3 times.
yeah, you go there, hate it for about 2 months...and then cant wait to go back. its an enormous playground of debauchery.
quit beating around the bush bro. i know you "guys" just want to get a nice bungalow in Fire Island for the weekend, and let nature take its course. "I dont want to do this, i dont want to do that" i know what you want to do. dont fight it.
depending on the roads in NC you were talking about, you may be out of luck there. The Tail of the Dragon that everyone goes to is closed because of a rock slide. On a side note, depending on what you're going to end up doing, I'd stay in the states. At least that way you won't have to worry about getting locked up or your passport lost/stolen
- Vegas - Always a good time, and always beautiful people to be found. A solid option. - New York City - Im not a big fan of NY. Its too pretentious for me. I went to highschool in northern NJ and a lot of HS friends now live in NYC. I remember the first time I went to visit them out of college and I was on my way up and my friend called to make sure that I remembered to pack black pants. Black pants? WTF. Why the hell would I wear black pants. Then when I got there I found out that the clubs they were planning on going to had an uptight rule on black pants for guys. So I had to go to Kohls and get a cheap pair of black pants. IMO, Hoboken > NYC. - Puerto Rico - San Juans nice, but since you were stationed there, you know that outside of San Juan isnt really all that great. The Caribe Hilton and IC hotel are fantastic, plus the strip clubs in San Juan are flat out dirty. Girls will do whatever you want there. So if you are looking to get an STD and not live past 35, or spend the rest of your life with itchy genitals, then San Juan is the place! - Mexico - Spring Break 99 baby1 - Vancouver (don't ask) - Eh? The olympics were last month man. - North Carolina (wicked Motorcycle riding apparently) - So you just went from 30 in Vegas to "Wild Hogs" in North Carolina? My pops rides his motorcycle down there. Also good riding out in Western Virginia and West Virginia...... or so he tells me. - Southern California - San Diego's nice. Or you can go to San Fran if you are down with the rainbow. I suggest some place in Europe. I turn 28 tomorrow *gulp*, but Im starting to look at Amsterdam or Italy for the big 3-0. Cruises are also a good idea if you can find a good itinerary. Small casino and gambling on the ship, and then spend every day on a different island. Ive been on 6 cruises now so the plan was to treat the cruise like a poo-poo platter (not literally) of the caribbean, and find out what islands I like. If you are traveling with a significant other, check out St. Lucia. If you want to get drunk and party, Barbados.
Out of the options I would choose Vegas. There is always something to do in Vegas even if you don't like one aspect such as gambling, like go see a show or something like others recommended. Although since you said you pretty much ruled Vegas out,I would go to San Diego or something either way have a good trip man.
Ironically I turn 30 this July....infact on the 1st day of July! Come on up to Columbus, Ohio. Its the place to be.
NC is a beautiful state........cruising thru the Smokies would be awesome You could hit Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge, Tenn for some fun, while you're up there....
If you decide on NY let me know. Ill make sure you get lost in the South Bronx Living in NY, I would probably decide on Vegas if I was going with a bunch of dudes or San Juan or So Cal if I was going with a few chicks. NYC is fun and theres a ton of stuff to do and youre still only a 45 minute/$10 train ride from the beaches on Long Island if you decide you want to bum around. As it was, I went to Mohegan Sun for my 30th. My buddies couldnt really get extra time off of work for a variety of reasons and we ended up doing vegas in july for a bachelor party anyway.
There is loads to see and do in NYC, but I would do it in the Winter. I am going to say go to Southern Cal and tell us what its like to bang Paris Hilton.
i think you'ld be better off scouting some old folks homes and maybe making a down payment on a cemetary plot. bring along some prune juice
Amsterdam is awesome You'll have a great time I wasnt sure about going as I am not a drug user but had a great time when I got there. If you do go you are best to stay on a house boat, they are much cheaper for big groups
Do what I did and stay home and cry for a week. Then constantly lie about your age by saying either "I'm celebrating the 3rd anniversary of my 27th birthday" or "I'm in my very very very late twenties"!
