Trade on the table for Atogwe and 2nd round pick from the Rams to Philly for McNabb:

    http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inq-eagles/McNabb_to_the_Rams_on_the_table.html

So Sharper seems to be the only FS left and with the FO seeming like they are not interested in him then what could our plans be?

Hate to say it but am starting to wonder if it would have been better not to cut Wilson so fast. Perhaps could have got something for him in a trade with the market so slim and if we don't end up signing a FS at least we still had one on the roster. I hope the FO knows what they are doing!

Happy we cut wilson..knew it would happen..his play deserved it.

Just not sure why Mike vick is not the one being shopped...

If I were someone like the browns, I would be on Mike vick, pair him up with cribbs, and draft tebow...That would be a really nice hybrid system..

Yea, I don't think anyone would argue the need to replace him, guess we will see if he has any value if another team picks him up. Still wondering where that replacement is going to come from though.

And yea can't believe McNabb to Rams for a second and Atogwe that seems like a steal...can't believe Philly would keep Vick over McNabb that is just baffling.

I believe the person they are "keeping" over mcNabb is Kevin Kolb, I'm sure they believe he is the future for them at QB.

He would not be willing to play for Buffalo or Oakland, two moribund franchises that might be willing to take McNabb:lol::lol:

The Eagle's are crazy. I know McNabb has his problems sometimes, but the guy is a way above average QB. I'd have taken him in a heartbeat until Penny and Henne. I don't understand them.

They need to move on. Kolb is ready in their opinion and he was drafted as the future. The future is now for them.

Also, I have a hard time seeing OJ Atogwe in this deal. I don't understand why St. Louis would do that.

Trade Penny for Atogwe and swap Second Round picks. McNabb and Penny are same age so only his injury history would scare them off.

No guarantees, as it is right now. You'd take Pennington over McNabb?

If the Phins trade Penny, his contract states they (the Phins) must pay him a big bonus... in the realm of a couple of million extra, IIRC.

Yes, I have very little respect for his abilities....like I said if AJ Feely can look that good in that system I have to raise an eyebrow.

    Slightly left of center
If I'm the Denver Broncos I'm getting Brandon Marshall on a plane to Philly, right now. Have brady q carry his bags.
Or Cleveland, or Minnesota if Bretty doesn't get it in gear soon, or Jacksonville, or Carolina or San Fran,

Or heres one from left field, McNabb in black and gold...??? He wouldn't even have to pack.

League sources told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that several teams are actively pursuing McNabb, and there's a strong belief that he's by far the Eagles quarterback most likely to be traded, even though Reid said the 11-year veteran is the starter. A source with knowledge of the situation said McNabb's suitors are "some teams that would surprise you, and some you would expect."

You got a link to any article where our FO is quoted as saying they are not interested in Sharper?

A steal for who. To me this seems like an exagerated rumor. How would you have felt last year if we traded our high second and lets say we had atogwe (cause we really didnt have an equivalent) for Mcnabb. You would have been crying foul and wanting ireland and parcells head.

Rams are in he same boat. They need to rebuild and giving away atogwe and the 33 is anti rebuilding especially for a qb with 2 good years left. I will be shocked if this happens.... They should be more apt to make that trade for kolb or roll the dice on another under achieving "Youngster"

penny > mcnabb? lol i love penny too but get real. penny has leadership skills above mcnabb, but mcnabb aint bad there and has all the phys skills over pemny by head and shoulders.. intangibles go to penny and intang. r huge, but mcnabb has the intang as well so penny's edge is sign less than mcnabbs edge in phys. skills

    You recall correctly sir.

I think I would not like this trade if I were a Rams fan, at all. Not knocking McNabb at all, he's just old, I would want someone much younger since they are in serious rebuilding mode. And would not want to give away a quality FS like Atogwe.

A quote from our tight lipped FO? Guess I should reword that to "showing" or "seeming" instead of saying.

New Orleans' Darren Sharper is by far the best unrestricted free agent left, but Miami is not among four teams pursuing him. The Dolphins studied Sharper and haven't necessarily ruled him out but have been focusing on safeties in the upcoming NFL Draft.

    http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/03/23/1544092/sparano-confident-dolphins-will.html

The move would make no sense for us already having a couple QB's on the roster but how would you feel about this move back in 2007 when Cleo Lemon was our starting QB?

I would feel about like we did when we got Pennington and had the "greatest single-season turnaround in NFL history" going from 1-15 to 11-5 and that would be feeling ecstatic!

I think Feely's success had more to do with the OC and QB coach over there than his talent.

Also, I completely disagree on Pennington over McNabb. I know I shouldn't be surprised at the lack of respect for McNabb's ability but I am. The guy gets booed the minute he becomes an Eagle, brings them to the NFC Championship game, what five times? Took them to the Super Bowl too. And he goes from a running QB to a passing QB in the process but still gets no respect.
